They delivered oil that contained water. This had the furnace stop. That is not the concern. The concern is that this has been going on for over 2 weeks and the problem is not resolved, they don’t keep their commitments to call back or show up at the time they say, including managers, and they are great with excuses. What happened happened AND they promising and not delivering on their promises.

Major thumbs down. Having been Griffith customers for 20+ years are going to have to rethink this. Two and a half days without oil. 19 degrees outside and 44 degrees in the house. Many calls and promises of oil technician will be there to do restart and oil is on its way for x3 days and both just arrived. Thank goodness no one elderly here to get hypothermic. Still awaiting return call from a manager. This in spite of our ‘Uber expensive’ service plan. No sense that anyone cared. Sure the ground level employees who do the work are underpaid and doesn’t look like drivers provided any route guidance. Management and owners surely need to do major improvements all around if want to stay in business. They are making enough $ selling us the oil to put something back into employee morale - including a pay raise, organization and reliability.

I bought a service plan and the tune up was part of it. I would use them again.

They do a good job. They were my provider at my other house. They charged whatever the going rate for oil is. If I had oil I would use them again.

I've used them for a long time.  They're very good with their price or I wouldn't be using them.

The gentlemen who would come out did not wear a uniform that represented Griffith, so I didn't know if he was a contractor or what. He did just enough to keep it running. I did not setup for recurring service. It's one thing to check the meter, but just to come out and see the tag hanging on the door. I did not request the oil. Just to watch the cost keep piling up, I could never get out the $1000-$1400 range. Then they tell me that I'm no longer on the payment plan for $175 a month. I asked them what am I missing, and why did that have to change. I actually had spoken with a manager, she said that she will file a request not to deliver anymore oil and to let me make the payments to pay it all off. I guess the customer service and manager did not communicate, because I kept getting letters say that I owe money and to pay it off now before they report it to the credit bureau or to a collection agency. I had an agreement and called them back with the manager. I gave them a time frame of two months. and paid it off. It was not necessary the way they handled it. I could see if I was not making any payments to them monthly. I am a paying customer and honored my contract.

I have had annual service contracts with Griffith for many years and they continue to be non-responsive to even service contract customers. It took days of repeated calls to them to secure a technician for an annual tune up on my A/C units. Previously, they forgot to fill the fuel oil tank and I had no heat for some days during the winter. This same pattern of non-responsiveness and sloppiness has prevailed over the last few years, notwithstanding repeated conversations with service managers about these problems. Griffith personnel are disorganized, non-responsive, and the company warrants no praise. It is past time to give a worthy competitor my business.

The wires had been chewed through by the mice.  He didn't realize the transformer was burnt out.  I needed a 4 X 4 junction box and he didn't have one on his truck.  I don't know if he didn't notice it or didn't check it and he couldn't get the a/c unit going and you know he should have went back through the electrical wiring from the source.

I have been a Griffith customer (for heating oil delivery) since I moved to Montgomery County in 1998. Griffith had been dependable until two years ago. In the last two years, I have had to keep an eye on my storage oil tank level as I could not depend on Griffith to deliver oil in a timely manner. I had to work proactively to avoid running out of oil. On Wednesday Dec 30 I checked my tank and saw that it was empty. I called Griffith at 1400 on Dec 30. I requested a 10 gallon emergency fill but was denied that emergency service because my heating furnace burner had not gone out. I spoke with an office staff member and she arranged for me to have a full oil delivery on 31 December. I told her I would conserve oil the best I could to keep my furnace burner from shutting off. I returned to my house at 0200 (AM) Jan 1 and found out that there had been NO oil delivery on the 31st. I spoke with the Griffith emergency call center for emergency oil delivery at 0200, 0330 and did not get any response. Then at 0630 my burner shut down. I really tried to avoid a shut down but because of Griffith?s unreliability and undependability, I lost the burner battle. I called emergency call center at 0630 again and told them that now with the help of Griffith?s undependability, I have a burner shut down and now may qualify for emergency oil delivery. I have a 27 year old African Grey parrot that I am very worried about. Yeah I am cold ? but I am more worried about the well-being of my parrot.
I cannot live with Griffith any more. I have found another oil supplier and will switch to another company.
Griffith is also undependable administratively. I have been on autopay (direct bank debit for billing) for several years. On my most recent bill I was penalized for a late payment. How could I be late when I was on autopay? It turns out that the Griffith billing department was late on making the debit request from my bank so I was penalized with a late payment fee. I got that refunded and I requested an apology from Griffith in writing (as I never - that is NEVER - pay my bills late). This again reflects a problem with Griffith?s reliability. I was going to hang on with Griffith as I have an active annual furnace service policy and they sent me a bunch of $20 coupons for their lapse in debiting my bank in a timely fashion, but with the lack of response for my request for oil delivery starting on 30 Dec, that resulted in my burner shut down - I realize that this is a safety issue. I am willing to toss the coupons and walk away from the expensive annual service agreement in order to transfer to another company for dependable oil delivery.
Griffith, I do not know what has happened to you that you have become so undependable. But I am done with you. Will be working on transferring to another company after I get some oil delivered. (I hope I can get some oil delivered. Now 0740 - still no oil.)

I'm so pleased.   Excellent customer service from start to finish, quality work and reasonable pricing.
To preface, I'd initially selected Tri-State and their service was horrible so I called around to a few more companies.  Surprisingly, a top-rated HVAC company here on Angie's List told me that Griffith would offer the best price on a replacement oil furnace and suggested that I give them a call.
Griffith sent Donald out to do the inspection and he was friendly, professional and prompt.   His diagnosis/write-up was crystal clear which helped my insurance/warranty company move forward with processing the claim.  Errol did the estimate and within two hours after leaving my house, he emailed me the quote with the complete cost-breakdown which was very reasonable.
GRIFFITH IS AMAZING:  I had to fight for weeks with the insurance/warranty company to get them to pay for the oil furnace replacement.   Justin and Errol were a HUGE help with pushing things forward as they always responded to questions and requests for additional information quickly.  They were going to get paid regardless so this was very appreciated.  Despite my frustration throughout the process, they both remained calm and professional which speaks volumes.
Scott and Mike replaced the furnace and did an awesome job!  Within three hours, everything was done, including cleanup.  I had several questions along the way which they were happy to answer.
I couldn't be happier with my experience.
