D&A were great! Not only did they come back with the lowest bid for the work I had done, they were efficient, professional and quick. Nathan's team (Andre, George, and Micah) arrived at 8:00 and was done well before 5:00. We had our gas furnace and A/C replaced with a dual fuel Carrier heat pump and the system works really well. The crazy weather over the last week allowed us to test the full range of the system's capabilities from heating to cooling and everything worked like a charm. I'd definitely hire them again.

D&A just installed a new Carrier infinity 3 ton heat pump (25VNA837A003 and FE4ANF005 ) , removed the old heating and cooling system (Trane AC, oil tank, and oil furnace) and installed a new ductwork to fit the new house's heating and cooling, Carrier system. As you can see this was a major residential overhaul, a huge investment for my house, and impacted my budget quite a lot.The decision to remove the old system and to go with a new tech advanced system was not easy and I was aware that I need to find somebody who knows what they are doing.I seriously approached this task, and using my engineering knowledge, I researched systems and solutions that would fit my house. Now that I understood the equipment better, I knew that I needed a very good and knowledgeable contractor. After 5 quotes and various systems presentations, only Chris, from D&A, was the one who hit the target. The price was a little above my budget but he was responsive and flexible. We signed a contract and honestly in that moment I started to think, will this huge investment work, do I have the right contractor, and are they going to work with me and my picky approach to everything? In general, I am a very, very complicated customer who does the research and tries to get the maximum out of everything that I do or somebody else does for me.Anyhow, day by day things started to happen, the oil tank was removed together with the furnace and pipes and brought up to code. The new heat pump came in, and the next day the furnace was here, the duct-work start to be put in place, and the D&A technicians were quiet, friendly, motivated, clean, and ready to answer all of my questions.I was ready to walk after them and check each step but soon I realized it is unnecessary because they knew what they were doing; they were using top quality materials, and every single small detail was in place. On the second day, when i came from work to inspect the HVAC, I said to myself: "This is not interesting, there is nothing to complain about," (and I like to complain because contractors always trying to cut corners). On the fourth day my new system was operative, a 5 stage high tech Carrier piece was in and provided the perfect fit to my home.Today, the system passed the county inspection, and I can finally say that this was a good decision and that the major part of success was having the right contractor. As you can see this is not a short review, and trust me it could be much much longer if i listed all the positive things that I can say about Chris and D&A.If you need a HVAC company you should call D&A due to their phenomenal and efficient work. I need to honour the Carrier for designing this new system that has increased the value and efficiency of my house, and has created a smart controlled space that my family and I can enjoy.Chris, I do not know how you manage your time, and how you always found a way to work with me, but the only thing that I can say is thank you very much!!!

After explaining the problem on the phone, I scheduled a time (4 hour block) for them to repair the system. They showed up within the scheduled time. However, they said they couldn't perform the work that day because it would take too long and they had other jobs to do. I spoke to the front office about scheduling a time to do the work. They said they would get back to me, then sent an email saying they didn't want to do the project. Very unprofessional - don't hire.

Very professional and thorough. Immediately responsive to all questions and requests. Best price quote of 6 obtained for the job, too. Very pleased and would highly recommend.

I called to set up the online special of $85.00 for an annual HVAC service. I had two units so they told me the cost would be $170. I agreed to this cost. When the technician came he identified that the refrigerant was low in the upstairs unit (which I told him had not been cooling properly). He asked if he should add refrigerant. I asked him why he needed to add refrigerant and he said there was a leak, but that he couldn't find it. He added 2lbs of refrigerant and then replaced the filter with a filter I already had in the house. On the downstairs unit he literally just looked at the unit and said it looked good. I then changed the filter on the unit with a filter I already had in the house. At no time did he do any of the things listed on their website ("checking refrigerant pressures, temperature raise, amp draws, capacitors, safety switches, motors, electrical connections, coils and more. Replacement of belt and standard indoor air filter is included"). He unbelievably charged me $75 for me to install my own filter and have him tell me the unit "looks good." On the upstairs unit, he didn't do anything more than checking the refrigerant, adding more, and then installing one of my filters. He added 2lbs of refrigerant at a cost of $169.00. However, 25lbs of 410a refrigerant is listed online in multiple places for $160 (picture attached). So he effectively charged me for 25lbs of refrigerant when my house only needed 2lbs. Somehow adding 2lbs of refrigerant and looking at two units declaring them good and using two of my filters (one of which I put in) qualifies as a $373.00. When I called the company to discuss what happened the woman I spoke with yelled at me and told me that they did exactly what we hired them to do; she even misquoted their own website which clearly states that they will put in filters they supply (picture attached see yellow highlight box). One last comment was that the technician complained about the job said he didn't want to go outside because it was raining (very lightly) and said he was nearly too big to get into the crawl space to properly check the unit (which I wonder if it meant he was too big to properly check the unit which is why he couldn't find the leak).

I've got like the best plumbing and hvac people. I will tell you these people are amazing. They just came. We will be very glad to give this recommendation. No I was not under a contract but I am going to do a contract with them because I was so happy. I had been with another provider and they told me a gas leak was my imagination and D&A actually found the leak and fixed it for $100.My lasy HVAC company told me that I needed a $1000 UV silk filter and these people sold me algae tablets for $6. So they saves me $100, told me I didn't need a $1000 piece of equipment. They saved me $1000. Like my house was going to blow up and they fixed. I had a gas leak the other guys missed. They have A rating? I can certainly see why. I realize now like how amazing they are. I'm glad your people will have a good person to go with.

Very easy to schedule. Quick to respond. Very simple. Left my house a little dirty due to shoes or ladder but would recommend to all

D&A was the best HVAC company I have ever used. The owner (Chris) was very helpful, fast, great work & a fair price. I recommend this company without hesitation.

Chris was great, I was going through a closing and I wanted the unit installed immediately. He was able to send his guys on a Saturday to help me out. He was extremely professional and his prices were fair.

I hate to provide a negative review because they were very responsible and all very nice guys. But after struggling with this problem for several winters, I called a different heating and cooling contractor. Within seconds of my walking the second contractor to my oil tank, he pointed to a crack in the plastic gauge at the top of the tank and said "there is your problem." The new guy actually berated me a bit for not noticing what was so obvious. The fix took 5 minutes to resolve a problem for which D&A came to my house at least 6 or 7 times over the last few years and for which I spent close probably near a thousand dollars. The replacement plastic cover for the gauge cost something near $20.

Once again D and A came to my rescue. Called after hours not expecting to talk to anyone til the next day. Later that evening someone called me apologizing for not being able to answer the phone when I called. I explained my problem. He asked what time would work best for me to send a technician out. The next day they arrived on time as scheduled. They actually sent the guy out that installed my unit. Damian. He was great assessed the situation and was able to quickly rectify the problem. My house heated up in no time. Warm and toasty! Thanks again!

I was very impressed with Chris Trippett. He is a very enthusiastic hard worker. He came over to access the job and visualize the duct work layout. Had me come by to walk me thur his layout plan. It is obvious that he loves he job. The job was done in a very efficient manner. And most importantly, it is working great.

I originally contacted this company to install the Nest thermostat back in October. About a month after I had the thermostat installed, my HVAC system stopped working. The technician came over and identified problems that emerged with my 14-year old system. They gave me two options - repair it, or replace the equipment.
It took some time before making the decision and I decided to replace the equipment because Dand A gave me the best price. Other companies gave prices that were much higher. I was hesitant to proceed because the Angies list ranking was a little low. What convinced me to move forward was their attitude during the Nest thermostat installation, and follow up, including showing me what was broken.
The company surpassed my expectations and were extremely accommodating with my schedule which I had to change a few times. Dand A never complained or gave me a hard time to work with my schedule. They initially warned me the installation may take two days and I was surprised they completed the work in less than a day.
I would definitely consider using them again and I really enjoyed working with Chris Tippett in particular.

They were excellent. They were personable and knew their business. They included little extras. We needed more than we anticipated so they did a few extra but kept the same quote. They treated it like their own house and did an excellent job overall.

During a spell of 100-degree days, my A/C compressor stopped working altogether. Dand A, my first contractor (not from Angie's List) charged $190 for a service call and one hour of service. The technician, Nathan arrived on time, He was pleasant, but because of a "thermal lock-out" (shown on the thermostat), could only replace the air filter and make an appointment for the next morning--promising to charge extra for the replaced air filter. According to Nathan, when the system attempts to start, fails, and over-heats; it locks itself for four hours to cool down, protecting itself from damage. During the first appointment he attempted--two or three times--to sell me an annual service contract for regular maintenance.
Nathan failed to show up or call for the 2nd appointment. Frustrated, I turned the system on. It would not start, over-heated, and thermally locked itself. When I called, Dand A's office rescheduled for the same afternoon. Nathan showed up half an hour late for the third appointment--3 hours and 45 minutes into the 4-hour lock-out. When he determined that the the system was locked and apparently unwilling to wait 15 minutes, he left, suggesting that I call his office to reschedule (when pigs fly). Dand A called at least twice, probably to attempt to re-schedule. But I did not answer.
My 2nd contractor (also not from Angie's List), the system installer, promised to schedule an appointment after talking to their technician. Despite their promise, and my reminder the next morning, they did not call back for 24 hours. By the way, on the phone, the 2nd contractor suggested that there was a way to work around a thermal lock-out.
In contrast to the first two, I called Rand B, after checking Angie's List. Rand B made an appointment for the next afternoon but called the next morning to ask if they could come earlier. I happily agreed. Jose, the technician, arrived on time and was pleasant and neatly dressed. He listened carefully to my description of the problem and what the first technician had done. He checked over the exterior unit, performed diagnostics, and soon determined that a capacitor was damaged or defective. After advising me of the cost of a replacement unit ($270), he replaced it. When I turned on the system at the thermostat, the compressor started immediately and continues cooling. Jose then checked over the compressor unit and the air handler/furnace in the basement, determining that everything else was working.
Jose finished everything in an hour and picked up his tools, the replacement parts, and the packaging, leaving no sign of his having been here--other than a repaired A/C system.
