Robert did not disappoint! He assured me the tutor he would assign me was not only proficient in the topics, but he would tutor me in a way I could fully understand the concepts at issue. I am glad to say that after only 4 sessions ($125 per session), I was able to not only understand concepts I had struggled with for years, but I have been able to shift the way in which I see math now, as with the help of the tutor, I now understand exactly how to deal with math problems I don?t fully understand at first.
The tutor had great credentials and was totally seasoned in effectively dealing with students that present math anxiety.

Robert works with a variety of academic tutors and pairs up experts in their respective fields with your student.  After taking some information about our son, Robert made some recommendations on who would be the best tutors for his learning style.  We worked with Darin for  high school Honors Geometry and Daniel on Chemistry.  My 10th grade son really related with the guys.  The tutors were very flexible as sports, activities, travel and vacations caused numerous occasions of us having to rearrange schedules.   They were very easy to reach; we just texted or called if there was a schedule change.  They were also willing to come on weekends or more than once a week during exam week.

My only (very small) complaint is that (due to our rearranging the weekly schedules), it was sometimes hard to track the number of sessions.  We typically pay in 4-session blocks ($500 or $125/hour session).  So we have to renew whenever we get to the end of the 4 week cycle.  It would be helpful to get a statement of the dates to the sessions and reminder to renew.  We've never had any disagreement with Robert on the billing.  And he usually just calls when/if we ever get behind. 

We are winding down now, as we approach the end of the school year, but will definitely call Robert/Catalyst again for next year!

We needed to find a tutor to help my son prepare for MCPS Algebra 2 finals. He is doing well in the class but slipped on some of the assessments, he clearly needed some help with a few topics.
The owner is very responsive and matched us with a great tutor. Scheduling was easy, even with our demanding schedules.

I checked out some services online and got some quotes for some much cheaper tutors. I tried out a few, but found they weren't very good at explaining the concepts in ways different from the textbook. Then a friend recommended Catalyst. I contacted them via e-mail and got a call back that day. We discussed my Daughter's need for help with Calculus and what topics she was covering. They recommended meeting with a tutor bi-weekly. The price was a steep $1K for a month of meetings, but I can honestly say it was worth it. The website made it easy for me to pay online (via PayPal) and the rest was pretty simple. The tutor arrived at the appointed times and was flexible when I needed to change meeting times. She did an assessment, gave thoughtful feedback and came up with a rigorous action plan that has my Daughter getting better grades. Moreover, my Daughter is using the action plan in her other subjects and is actually becoming a better student overall. I think the fact Catalyst uses certified teachers makes all the difference.

I was matched with a tutor who was able to figure out why I was struggling with certain concepts. The service was excellent and I highly recommend these guys for students that need a boost.

My nephew who attends Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, Maryland has problems, possibly related to his having attention deficit disorder(ADD), with conceptualizing spatial relationships.
