Just when you are losing faith in people caring about the quality of their work, along came Hayden plumbing and shows you great workmanship still exists. They have done two service calls with us, the first was a scheduled installation of a water softener and filter. The quality of the installation was extremely high and the gentleman was prompt, professional and friendly. He went above and beyond by removing existing hard water deposits on our bathroom fixtures. The second call was a last minute call about a leak from work done by someone else. They were able to get to us quickly and fixed it right. I would highly recommend them!

Went very well. The plumber was knowledgeable and new exactly what action to take to resolve my specific issues and was able to advise me on the solution to correct a problem with an odor coming from a faucet.

No one was able to come out but Paul, the owner, did one better! He allowed us to pick up the part on Christmas Day and then made sure my husband knew how to install. He saved our Christmas and saved me lieterally hundreds of dollars by avoiding an emergency service call on Christmas. Friendliest and most professional company I have dealt with and would give the highest rating!!

This is a family-owned business and it was the son-in-law Brian who came to do the job. He was the nicest person and very professional. He got here when we said he would. He knew just what the problem was and pointed out other things that we needed to know. The motor had burnt out in the pump. There were also items that should not have been flushed that was weighing the floater down in the septic hole. He replaced the pump, poured bleach in the hole (flies and larvae had somehow gotten in), sealed it way better than it had been, all within the estimated time of completion. The cost of the job was very reasonable and we would highly recommend them to anyone. They let you know before performing any work exactly what needs to be done and the cost.

I’ve described in another review how I waited for four or five weeks to get scheduled to have this job done with another company. I finally had to find someone else. Paul C. Hayden Jr. and Sons had high ratings an Angie’s List and were very nice to talk to on the phone. I was told that Stephen (one of the Sons) would call me later to talk about the details. He called later that day. I described the problem and he said he would schedule the work for early the following week. Paul called in a day or two and said they’d be here on Monday morning. I asked Paul if just my description of the situation was good enough for him to send his cavalry without their own assessment of the problem. He assured me that the 30+ years they’ve been in business was enough to evaluate my report. He was right. Stephen and Chris, his assistant, came out Monday with a backhoe and a couple lengths of replacement pipe and did the job in a couple hours. The drawing we had said the pipe was fifteen feet, but it turned out to be twenty-seven feet long. Stephen was an artist with the backhoe, digging all around the pipe without even scratching it. He really didn't need to be so delicate. Toward the end nearest the distribution box, he had already determined that the pipe was crushed along five or six feet of its length. He figured it must have happened back when it was first installed. That’s the only time any equipment heavy enough to crush it would have driven over it. (I figure it was the same people who installed the holding tank that collects the water before sending it uphill to the distribution box— it leaks water from the ground into the tank. When ever it has rained, we can hear ground water drip, drip, dripping into the tank, to be sent to the leach field. What a waste.) The crushed pipe has only about an inch passage on either side, and one of those was nearly completely filled with a single root. Roots entered easily through the break. A few years earlier the box had been cleaned out—it had been choked with roots. We didn't know then about the break in the line; one of the roots was so strong that it had lifted the concrete lid of the box (buried under eighteen inches of dirt) off the box to let other roots in. That fix lasted a year or so. Cleaning the box this time hadn’t worked because, I think, the roots in the line had grown so thick. So Stephen and Chris replaced the pipe, gluing it properly to keep roots from attacking the joints and putting concrete around the pipe’s exit from the box. They filled in the holes and spread grass seed and straw. They were great to work with and I am glad to finally have the problem solved.

They did the work but they over charge after the job is done. I have used them twice for two different jobs and both times they give you a low estimate for the job and after it is finished, the bill is double the estimate and there were no new or additional problems with doing the job. This second time, they sent a second person for a one person job and charged me for two people. If you use this company, get a written estimate and hold them to it or just give them a blank check.
