The following morning before 9 am I received a call from their office setting an appointment for the same day, between 10 am and 12 noon. One hour later I got a call from the plumber, John T, indicating he would be there in 35 minutes. He was right on time. He checked the toilet and the pipes under the sink, ran a snake and determined that the clog was in the main line. He also found that the water lines under the sink had been improperly installed.
John T called the warranty company and found that the clog was not a covered item. Although he had more appointments and needed a larger piece of equipment, he volunteered to get a helper and the equipment and come back to complete the job at 2 pm. He arrived on time, got the toilet back to normal (despite it being a larger blockage than expected) and replaced the P-trap under the sink properly, all for only $200 more than I would have paid for the warranty deductible.
He was personable, professional and knowledgeable. He showed me everything he had done an even gave me some tips on how to properly drain the water heater and test the water to see if I need a water softener to get rid of the sulfur smell from the well water, which is pretty disgusting. He didn't try to upsell me on the water softener right away and offered to get me a price if I decided to get one after flushing the existing heater. He also recommended a company for septic tank clean-out.
Nice job for a very fair price, without making me take more than one day off! Will call him again if I need assistance.
