Women's Services - Obstetrics & Gynecology
Less than 20 weeks in and we're already left doubtful this place can handle a pregnancy. They rescheduled our appointment without telling us which made them also schedule it for a day where I would not be able to come in. We went through the hassle of finding a baby sitter because they will not let my toddler accompany us into the office. I even got sent an appointment confirmation for our appointment today. All we really wanted is to find out the *** of the baby. Today is the day THEY scheduled to do so. Now we're being told they wont do it until 20 weeks but have rescheduled us for nearly a month later. My mother-in-law was planning a little gender reveal event since we have to go visit them in a couple weeks for my brother-in-law's wedding. And now I get to make my job rearrange my schedule twice as well as now I have to secure a babysitter again and I can't even be confident that this appointment will be honored. Some poor low level girl in the office tried to take responsibility and apologize but she also tried to make excuses as to why this is okay and never explained why we were rescheduled without being called to even ask what day would be a good day for us. Her office manager, despite her going to talk to him multiple times while we were on the phone refused to come to the phone and then told her to just tell us he is in a meeting. She also tried to explain to us how hard his job is, like I care because he obviously isnt very good at his job which is why he finds it so hard. All in all, it's scary because there arent many options in the area at all and they know you're stuck going to them so they dont care. The life of my wife and child will be in their hands and at this point I wouldn't trust them to grill me a hamburger let alone deliver a baby. All she could talk about was her being human and humans make mistakes, which is something you dont really want to hear a hospital say. I know she does not know our entire past but...My son was delivered in Las Vegas, NV and that hospital was bad too. A Las Vegas hospital failed to properly diagnose my wife's gall stones. My wife had her gallbladder removed in NJ and that hospital made mistakes too. And now this...At one point does a hospital stop making excuses and just honor their commitments? We went from being told we'd find out the *** of our baby today to now we would know for another 3-4 weeks and I'm supposed to just say....Oh well, people are people, we make mistakes. I'll just rearrange everything once again and hope they dont do the same thing again.

I did not care for the office. It seemed dark and somewhat old. The lack of the appearance of modernization of the office did not make me comfortable. I did not see the GYN but the PA or nurse/midwife, which does not bother me in and of itself, but I felt I should at least have been introduced to the doctor. I also felt the staff was somewhat more businesslike and less friendly than I would have liked.

As for the office itself, I was appauled! First of all, the office was horrible, in an old post-office marked with a banner. Nobody ever notified me when I made the appointment that I was looking for a 'Post-Office' - it was teaming with shady people sitting on the steps smoking like a inner-city community center and was full of teenagers in sweat pants. I'm not trying to be a snob here at all but I researched this place (or at least thought I had) through my insurance company Federal Blue Cross Blue Shield and it boasted great mid-wives and service for adults, family planning and upon arrival I felt like I was in a 'Free Clinic' in NYC. Also I was not charged for a co-pay when I left which tells me that this was more of a 'free-clinic' - I should have a copay. When I go to an OBGYN as a 31 year old woman I expect a professional, clean, calming enviornment not a Clinic. The halls and waiting room was stone and very uninviting, the carpet on the floor was old, this was no place for a specialty doctors office (and yes I consider OBGYN specialty) otherwise you would go to Patient First or a General Practitioner. When the nurse calls you, you walk through tall doorways into another cold hallway and then a cold room, honestly I've felt more at ease getting clinics Baghdad.
Granted this was the Harve de Grace Office there is one in Bel Air but I will never EVER return to Susquehanna Ob-Gyn and Nurse

Overall I find this practice to be a good one. I think that there are some improvements to be made, but for a relatively young practice they are doing a great job.

They have a group of midwives there. It is easy to schedule and they are all very friendly. The office is very nice with architectural details added to it. They are really good. They explained all different options and answered my questions. They made me understand what I wanted to know. Everybody there is pretty laid back.
