Relms Landscaping

After reviewing several landscape companies I contracted with Relm to restore a significant portion of my lawn.  This involved topsoil and seeding.  They did the work and at first I was impressed and contracted with the company to provide lawn maintenance services. i.e., fertile weed  control etc.  Turns out the seed did not take and the next fall I reseeded- but that did not take either.  I had to call frequently for service and this year the lawn is a disaster.  The original restoration is a dead zone- no grass just weeds and there are weeds in other parts of the lawn that  generally have good grass.  I contacted the service manager for ideas on what has to be done  and to get rid of weeds but they have been basically unresponsive. At one point the service manager was promising to get the Ag extension agent to look at lawn- but that turned out to be a fantasy since the extension agents don't make "house calls" as I discovered.

They were a disaster. I had a bad experience with them. They really did a job on me.

The work performed was first class. Very knowledgable adaptation of pre-existing design, helpful staff. Communication over modifications during the course of project led to minor dispute over billing. Better communication or written change orders would have solved.

The landscaping company did a good job with the design. The workmanship was very good. They said the job would take four days and they finished in four days. They hauled off the debris and cleaned up after themselves. We are probably going to have them do some more work for us.

The estimator/designer (Vicki) was excellent. She really worked with me and when the team came out to do the lawn and landscaping renovation she came out ahead of them gave them instructions and continued to swing by to check on the progress. I was impressed that even though the plants and shrubs were ones that were familiar to most suburbanites, she was very knowledgeable on the newest cultivars and making sure that vigor, form, and ease of care were well thought through. The guys who executed the work were extremely hardworking, very professional. I was pleased that there was very good quality control in both the design and execution on such a small job, but they were excellent so I will be using them to do my backyard and also for hardscaping down the line. Also, the lawn renovation turned out very well. More than a few neighbors inquired about who did the work since I had just bought the house from a large family and there were weeds, not really lawn prior to the renovation.

They showed up on time and did the work in a very professional manner. I particularly like Vicki who does their design. She has a great eye for color and plants.

Our sales contact worked with us closely from the estimate to the final approval on the work. She listened to our requirements and provided several choices. Not once did we feel pressured to go with a higher priced option. Once we put a deposit down, the work was finished within the time frame promised. The only suggestion I would have in that project phase is that communication regarding promise date vs. tentative dates be very specific. In our case, unclear communication caused some misunderstandings on when this work was going to be done. The workers were on time, did a good job, and repaired any yard damage done from trucks being driven over the lawn. The final approval of work came after my husband and their sales associate reviewed the job. All in all, I felt the experience was a positive one.
