JJM HOME IMPROVEMENTS put in a new roof for me. I had no problem with the roof. It looks nice. So far there have been no leaks. My warranty is up this summer. Other than being sloppy and my next door neighbour stepping on my roofing nails, the roof turned out fine. The rest of their work, the porch and the drive have been nothing but nightmare for months. The drive way is crap. The concrete porch is chipped, cracked, pitted and nasty. I think they were good at roofing. I do not know if that was his crew or not but he subcontracted the driveway and the porch. I got very shoddy, sloppy inferior work. I had to call them back to take the debris out of my front yard. When I had to called them back to clean the concrete from my brand new vinyl siding and when I said anything that I was not happy with them I got only arguments from the owner. The asphalt drive way crumbles on the edges even now. They had to come back and patch that as it crumbles. I don?t want to deal with them anymore. That is what they were hoping for. It came down to the fact that they did nothing. They were very disrespectful of me and everything was an argument. They knew they were wrong. To appease me at one point they installed a storm door though I had to buy the door. It was not part of the contract. I have had numerous issues with the way the concrete met the kick plate at the front door. When they took the old concrete out they did not clean the cork off and they only put the concrete only up to the old cork. My house is 30 years old and that concrete holds up a whole lot more than 3 years. When he came for the estimate I wanted the concrete done that is what I called the estimate for. I knew that I need to put in a new roof and he mentioned that if I am getting the concrete done it is better to get the roof done first. So it is he who sort of talked me into getting everything done at one time. At one time when I finally got him to come to my house he tried to intimidate me. I am single. He got the subcontractors for the concrete and the driveway and other people from his office and they came down my street in a caravan. I had to call my neighbour to come down and stay with me. He was not professional nor was he responsive. The first issue was when I signed the contract and I had to put down the part payment. He wanted the money but he moved the date. He said I took too long to sign the contract so it was going to be a longer start date. I was not willing to give him the money on the date of the contract because why should he have my money for two months. He does not need my money to buy the materials for my job. I would never use this company in the future.
