C & O BICYCLE

!We arrived and told owner/manager/staff person our desire to rent a bike to ride on Canal. I was very excited about this adventure! The man's response was that the canal was to muddy to ride. I was disappointed at first and told my group we couldn't ride due to conditions. It was at that point we were offered the option of riding the scenic Western MD Rail Trail (which was better suited for us anyway). Felt a little welcomed that owner/agent didn't want to engage us more and offer that option. I described our lack of experience and my husband's brain surgery issue (and would recumbant bike be better suited) but was guided to the cruiser style, which after my husband still felt he would have liked to know more about the options available. Even though sales agent seemed a bit disinterested in engaging we still found the entire process easy to do. Rental was 6.25 an hour each and a $3 rental for my grand daughter's helmet. The facility was very bike traveler friendly, with a free screened in bunkhouse and port a potties for long distance travelers. The ride was scenic, easy and beautiful! A tremendously satisfying experience and lifetime memories made!
