It went well! I used them this month. They provided air conditioner service. It cost about hundred dollars. I recommend their reliability, their honesty and their promptness. I rate them an 'A' overall.

Scott's Speed Shop is my regular automotive mechanic. Although I will go to other providers for minor care to my car, Scott's is my first choice for major or complicated repairs.
Previously, I have taken my car to Scott's for brake repair, exhaust repair, timing belt replacement, tuneups, and any other repair more complicated than a oil change. He has proved himself to be completely honest. One time, I was driving my car and when I stepped on the brake the pedal went to the floor. I took my car to Scott's, and he held it a couple days for testing. When I went to pick the car up, the charge was $0. When I discussed the repair with him, he said they had been driving it all over the place, and failed to reproduce the brake problem that I had brought it in for. I was told that there was nothing wrong with my brakes, and when I took the car home I have never had a brake problem since.
I found my way to Scott's Speed Shop by reference from another mechanic. I had been taking my car to various shops around town for repairs, and I found a mechanic who was willing to talk shop with me. I asked him who HE would take his car to for major repairs, and he told me that the place to go was Scott's Speed Shop.
I own an older car, a 1991 Honda Accord, and Scott is happy to work on it for me and help me keep it on the road. I rate his expertise at all kinds of repairs as being very high. Not only does he work on older cars, but he also caters to mechanics who are customizing their own cars, and, I assume, he will actually do the work for them if they prefer.
I believe that his prices are competitive, and due to his slant towards honesty, his prices are not inflated by unnecessary repairs. He is willing to discuss your repairs in detail with you. When you take your car in for a repair, he does not try to sell you additional repairs. If you ask him to be will check your car over for needed maintenance, but unlike many mechanics you will get what you ask for and not be pushed into additional sales.
His shop is unique; do not expect a slick waiting room with a smiling service representative to deal with you. When you walk in the door, you will encounter a well-worn shop crowded to the brim with car parts for sale. There is a wooden counter with a high stool for you to sit on while you wait for service, and the service is for the most part provided by Scott's adult daughters, who are fully schooled in the ins and outs of car repairs. You do not need to wait long for service, and you can expect your questions to be answered in a very competent way by the daughters. If you ask a question they cannot answer themselves, they will call for Scott, who will come to the counter himself to discuss your repair.
The one downside of this service is that he does not perform repairs while you wait. He likes to have your car parked in his lot at 8 AM in the morning, and if it is a routine or easy repair then you can pick it up later in the day. Complex or unusual repairs may take more than a single day. When I had my timing belt replaced the last time, it was done in a single day, and I have had the same experience with tuneups and other routine repairs. When my horn burnt out, I believe it took them three days to get it sorted out and working again.
I give Scott five stars for honesty, competence, and straightforward business practices. I would recommend his shop to anyone with a sick car.
