I have explained in detail how it went but let's suffice it to say that I will be attempting at all cost to turn customers away from purchasing or doing any business with Manor House Builders.
Description of Work: I bought a home from this builder back a year ago. Cut to this year....all the plants their so called landscaper planted had died and when I decided to plant something much more Ellaborate and better than the two so called plants that were provide a month later I get notice that I must return it back to the way it was. Now, here is the best part, the person who served notice is the son and I believe Vice President of Manor House Builders and he is also on the HOA board. He informed me that if I don't return it back to the way it was I would have to pay a initial 25 dollar fine and 10 dollars every week thereafter until it's rectified. Now, I paid 1000 dollars for all the plants and I felt going back to gravel topping to be unacceptable. Also, the reason the builders plants didn't survive in the first place is because the builders sub contractors and landscaper had over 3 feet deep of gravel packed base that the plants were sitting and surrounded with. I grew up a son of a landscaper and did this for over 30 years so I know this is bad for plants. Upon refusing to change the landscaping I was also informed I had rust stains in my asphalt and that too would be fined if not corrected (25 dollars initially and 10 dollars every week thereafter) of which I will correct but it will take a weekend of seal coating the driveway and several hundred dollars. If you have a thought of using this contractor Run don't walk away! Just an FYI, I have multiple nail pops throught the home, the duct work pops louder than fireworks on the Fourth of July every time the heat or air conditioner kick on, the carpet installed is about as cheap as you can get, the appliances are said to be upgrades but personally I don't see them as such. My main concern is the fact the family building the homes are on my HOA board so they can dictate what I can and can't do and say that what I do could negatively impact home values!??? Their landscaping or lack thereof is what impacts negatively on home values.
