Veterinarians, Animal Burial/Cremation
They took over from the original owner and the name changed. We were very fortunate our dog passed away: she had a heart attack at night so we never had to have her put down. That was the last service they have done for us. We would take her in if she had any problems or for regular checkup. She was still good until the end. I know the price was expensive but we had her for 13 and 1/2 years so we didn't do any price comparisons when we were taking her for care. We were willing to pay. They were waiting for us when we got there. They were very friendly and professional. They loved our dog just like we did. They knew who she was and interacted with her in a wonderful manner. We thought they were great.

The check up was $75, they also did blood test. They also did heart worm and flea medicine. It was pricey but it wasn't wholesome, it was just visit. It was $300 for the medicines and the visit. I like them overall for the convenience location and the hours but I don't like that they have different doctors and staff. We always get a different doctor and they don't get to know the animal because they will see a different doctor.

First, I know this is later post, but I didn't know about Angies list til later, and people need to know about this vet. I noticed these posts when looking for a new vet.
I took her in because of a small lump and pee control. Friends, family and a farmer said that it was most likely a urinary tract infection. I was on time but waited a while, not to long. The vet tech, when we got to the back, was very friendly and commented on how well behaved, calm and friendly/loving she(the cat) was. She was concerned when she felt the lump. When the "VET" came in, she was very cold and checked the area (not more than 5 min. by hand) Looked at me and said she had cancer........
We will have to operate, remove "The Mass". THIS DECIDED ON A TOUCH EXAM, NO BLOOD WORK, NO XRAYS, NO BI-OP. I EVEN ASKED ABOUT A BI-OP. She said it would cost more and not really change the out come. Got back out front and asked how much this will be. couldn't tell me, but would call me. The call didn't come I went back and asked....$700to$900. ALL WITH NO PROOF OTHER THAN A TOUCH EXAM.
I have had another cat that DID have cancer.......That vet did both blood and xrays.
Cinnomon (how her name is spelled) is still alive and VERY ACTIVE and happy running around the house chasing a new 2 year old cat I was convinced to take in, TO THIS DAY APRIL 6TH, 2014

I saw this provider twice. I was looking for a Vet closer to home and decided to try Longmeadow Animal Hospital. I called and the first message I got was they were busy and would I leave a message so I did and we played phone tag for a while but finally got an appointment. Once I arrived I checked in and the receptionist was not very friendly. All I could hear was the receptionist and what looked to be a Vet Tech gossiping to one another. After a long wait, about 30 minutes beyond my appointment I asked when she thought I'd be seen. She told me to have a seat they'd get to me when they could. Finally I get to the back and the Vet comes in. My Boxer was no problem and she examined her and provided her with her shots but when it came to my Toy Fox Terrier she examined her, gave her the shots and then proceeded to argue with me that my dog wasn't a Toy Fox Terrier. I was surprised to hear her say this since the rescue I received her from, the other Vet and a Toy Fox breeder all said she was a Toy Fox Terrier. I asked her what did she think she was and she said "Oh she's a Rat Terrier." So I left and started researching and after looking at 100's of pictures know my dog is a Toy Fox Terrier. She even has the identical markings of a TF and her ears are straight up not curved over like a Rat Terrier. After all that I went out to pay and again the receptionist made me wait, with two dogs, while they continued with thier gossiping. So WHY would I continue to see a Vet who cannot even identify what breed my dog is and I don't like gossip! Not a very good experience and still looking for a good Vet. Haven't been able to find one since Dr. McClellan of Frederick retired :(
The second visit was just to get the follow up for kennel cough vaccine for my Boxer but that's the ONLY reason I went back there.

It was a good visit. I also took a dog in for ear infection and they got me a prescription and allowed me to take it to my pharmacy instead of buying it through the office which saves me money.

I've been taking my pets to Longmeadow Animal Hospital for the past 15 years. They have even seen my lizard on a few emergencies. My pets love them, and so do I. They are always prompt, I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes. They can usually schedule me within a few days of calling, unless it's an emergency in which case they bring my pets in the same day. I switched vets 15 years ago because the one I was seeing I typically waited an hour or more past my appointment time. The staff at Longmeadow is friendly and understanding.

Our dog was diagnosed with a heart murmer at about three years of age. And once this diagnosis was made, it was like
they completely ignored it. They failed to run any tests to further diagnose the severity of the disorder (no blood work, no xray, no ekg). The only thing they offered was to take him to a doggie cardiilogist in Rockville at the low, low price of 2500 for a consultation (not including any tests or treaments!) We asked about this heart murmer everytime we went in with him (about twice a year) and were told, "oh im sure its fine". When Cheerio was about 9, he started coughing severely. We took him in and were told he had "allergies" and to give him benedryl. Again, no tests were run. One night, he started having very labored breathing and violent coughing spells. We took him to the local emergency vet where they did all the required tests. When the vet came back, she told us that he had congestive heart failure, not allergies, and that his heart was so enlarged it was pressing on every organ in his body including his trachea which was what was causing the terrible cough. This vet was shocked that more had not been done to diagnose or treat our dog. We were then told that a simple 70 dollar ekg that could have been performed in office could have allowed us to diagnose this earlier and thus prolong his life.In addition to the enlarged heart, Cheerio's lungs were also fluid filled and he was slowly drowning. We had to put him down. I am sure that his life could have been prolonged had the vet taken the proper steps to diagnose and treat my dog.
