Service Man responded from this company due to garage door malfunction. He did correctly determine the issue was a broken spring. We were charged 76.00 for the service call and told we would be e-mailed an estimate for the cost of repair. The cost of the 76.00 would be deducted from the repair which sounded reasonable. We didn't hear anything so we called in and were told HPG was waiting to hear from their supplier on the cost of the replacement springs and we would get an estimate via e-mail. This sounded a bit fishy, so we checked Angies List, found another company who responded in a few days time, replaced our springs and cables and adjusted the garage door opener. Total cost was $265.00 and our garage door is now working perfectly.
AFTER that was done we eventually got an e-mail from HPG. They wanted $749.00 to do the SAME thing we just had done for about 500.00 less! And yes the replacement springs were both the same type, exterior torsion springs. I'd say this is a Rip Off.
HPG did manage to stick us for the 76.00 service call but they will never get any further business from us again.
