Tyler, Andy and Austin did a wonderful job installing a new furnace and AC unit at our residence. Very professional and competent. And the job site cleanup was first rate.

Cumberland Valley Heating & Air Conditioning really came through for our family when our older furnace died. Not only did they arrive immediately to troubleshoot our furnace but discovered the heat exchange was cracked, potentially leaking deadly carbon monoxide back into our house. That makes them lifesavers in more ways than one by possibly saving our lives and saving us from freezing by replacing the furnace extremely fast. They also waived the emergency service call fee which really helped us financially. The cost of a new Trane furnace was much less expensive than I ever thought. They definitely have a customer for life.

Since we have an attic air handler, we scheduled the work for the Fall so the heat in the attic would not be a problem. The unit was ordered for us in the Spring. Cumberland Valley protected the price and rebate and added the ductwork at minimal additional cost. Other competitors would not do this for us at this price .

The two young men they sent were prompt, efficient, and considerate and finished the job ahead of schedule.

Our salesperson was excellent. The office personnel filled out all of our paperwork for us to sign with First Energy so we could get our rebate from them. That rebate will lower our cost to about $6200.

They gave me a time frame between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and were supposed to call before they came out. They just showed up around 3:30 in the afternoon. We were out of town so I had to call my dad to get over there right away to meet the guy. The technician couldn't get the AC to take the Freon (sp?) so he left saying we might need to replace the unit. The company called me and said it would cost me $2200 to $2800 to repair/replace the unit. I had another company go out a few days later (I'll submit review for them as well) and they were able to get the unit to take Freon and got the unit cooling again. They said it could still cause us problems or it could be fixed. They would have to take it apart to see (which would cost more money). If it continues to work we don't have a problem. If it stops again, I will NOT be calling Cumberland Valley.

Response from Cumberland Valley Heating & Air Conditioning
"We appreciate Ms. [removed member name] choice to allow Cumberland Valley Heating and Air Conditioning to earn her business. Our customers are our number one priority, and we strive to meet their needs in every possible way. Out technician arrived at Ms. [removed member name] home within the time frame given during the initial call. The technician performed a standard system diagnostic and ascertained that unit's compressor would need to be replaced soon because of the wear of the unit and life of unit. Our technician suggested to the customer that unit could be replaced and offered the customer the opportunity to fix the unit at an estimated price. The customer claims they contacted another company to review their system and said, "they said it could still cause us problems or it could be fixed. They would have to take it apart to see (which would cost more money). If it continues to work we don't have a problem." Our company obviously cannot speak to the service provided by a separate company nor can we evaluate said company's diagnosis. However, Ms. Ridgley did say that the other company who replied to her request for service detailed a similar impending malfunction, just as our service technician stated." Our service technicians are trained professionals with many years of experience within the heating and air conditioning industry. They invariably make judgement calls during every service call and offer customers variables and options to streamline their units and/or permanently remedy a faulty unit. Our service technician ascertained quickly the life of the compressor and will soon need to be replaced for the customer's unit to continue working properly, hence the technician's suggestion to upgrade the unit."

They did this very well. They had the job done within the stated timeframe. Their crew worked hard, were polite and professional. They worked very cleanly. We had to wait couple of weeks to have the work done since they were busy, which was not a problem since we knew about it in advance. I feel the sales rep was not as responsive as I would have liked. I would have to call him and wait a couple of days for a callback.

They are a good company to work with. They have great prices and good service. They also do my annual tune ups. They come twice a year and it is $320. They come in the spring and fall. I also get a discount for having the maintenance plan with them. Overall, I am satisfied with their work.

If I call them, they are usually there within a day. Their prices are very good. I compared prices when I bought my air conditioner and they were very competitive. They did a wonderful job. They are there when they say; they usually show up a little early.
