I Purchased a Kohler home back up generator which was installed and operated fine for 4+ years.  It then failed to operate and I called ARE who came out and said I had a bad fuel regulator which they replaced.  This did not correct the problem.  I was sent a bill for 600+ and was told the problen was with the kholer motor not the electrical part of the unit and they did not service the motors.  I told them that if I buy a car I take it to the dealer that sold it to me.  They replied that they had a different business model.  I asked them about their coustomer model.
They referred me to an other organization that deals with motors in general which also has not fixed the generator. 
As I sit here waiting for Huricane SANDY to turn my power I can only say that I would NEVER recommend this organization to anyone.
It is sad that what turned out to be a great experience with this company during the installation and set, up has turned into a screw the customer now that we have the money situation.  They had no problem billing me 600+ for not fixing anything but would not take it upon their organization to find someone that would fix the problem under their name rather than washing their hands of this equipement failure.
