We called them back in June to have them repair a subzero ice machine and wine cooler. They came out and estimated that it would cost $600 to repair the wine cooler or better yet just replace and said that they fixed the ice maker and that it would start producing ice in four hours. The next day it had not produced ice, we called back and found the business non responsive after they had taken our money. We called again the 13th of July and they returned to advise to let us know that now the ice maker was broken and that it would cost $250 to replace and the wine cooler would now could be fixed $900.00, He had no explanation as to why the estimate why the increase was an additional $300 and why the ice maker was not repaired on the first visit. We asked them to apply the $167 first visit to the total repair estimate and they refused. We were very dissapointed and felt as though we had been grosely mislead. We will never use them again as we cannot trust them.

Everything went very well. First, although Jim's was not already certified to do warranty repair work on LG refrigerators, Toni worked with me and LG to get Jim's certified-- what a helpful lady! Second, Jim's was able to schedule a service call the next business day, and provided a time window of only 2 hours (unlike the 4 hour or all-day window I've been quoted by others). Oliver came by to fix the fridge when promised, and got it all taken care of in one visit! Great! My other service calls have also gone very well. Toni always answers the phone immediately and is very helpful, and the actual service providers are courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. The man who fixed my oven noticed it was not leveled correctly and took the extra time to get it level without my asking. I can finally bake an even cake! Although I hope my appliances hold up better in the future, if they don't, I will feel confident calling Jim's.

This is a great company. I called first thing in the morning, and was able to get same day service. They came when they said they would, and they were polite and knowledgeable. I would use them again.

It went very well. They call to make the appointment. Then call the night before with the time range. They come and clean the refrigerator, using mats or tarps to protect the floors. They clean the refrigerator and then take all their equipment and clean up the area after they are finished.

I didn't know what to do because it is a subzero refrigerator and it has cabinetry around it. They came out the same day that I called and came back the next day to change the tubing. They offered very prompt and efficient service. I was very impressed because they came out right away to see what the problem was and didn't charge me to come back the second day. The two technicians who came to my home were just lovely, they were friendly and great to work with.

We went through a home warranty company and they scheduled service on our refrigerator because it was leaking. A serviceman came out to assess the situation and stated there was nothing to be fixed. We paid our deductible and they were on their way. Approximately 4 months later I receive an incredibly rude phone call asking for the balance of the service call (about $46) and demanding payment immediately. I explained that my contract was with the warranty company, and I had no contact with the choosing them etc and they needed to settle it with the warranty company. The woman proceeded to yell at me over the phone and demand payment. I asked for contact or documentation from the warranty company, they have to provide that and continue to harass me with phone calls.

Couldn't ask for better. Our repairman, Henry, came right on time and immediately got to work. While we had checked the outlet ourselves, it appears that there was a faulty wire connection to the compressor that caused a short. He also got the icemaker ...that we had given up on long ago...to work. As he services SubZeros (our primary refrigerator) we asked him to clean the coils while he was here. We've requested a service contract to make sure that we adhere to SubZero's suggested twice yearly cleaning.

In general I was very pleased with the company. They came out quickly when I called and diagnosed the problem. Because this is an old stove, and the manufacturer is no longer incorporated in the States, they had to search around for the parts and ended up getting them in Canada. I expected it to be really expensive, but thermal couplings themselves were only about $75 each, and the labor fee was reasonable as well. Given my experience with contractors, I expected them to crank up the price to make more money, but they were very reasonable. The only reason I wouldn't not give them A's across the board is because it did take a while to get the parts. I understand this - and the length of time to get the parts is not a complaint. I am very happy that they were able to run them down. But when I would call and leave messages I never heard back. When I did talk to someone there, they said that they would check on the status and get back to me and they never did. I never heard from them about status until they actually had the parts in hand. But again, this is a minor thing. I should also say that the service technician was prompt, courteous, and willing to answer all of my questions. I can't remember his name but he was definitely one of the better service techs I've had here fixing things in the house.

They came with in one hour. He quickly diagnosed the problem and pinpointed the bad component, which is an inexpensive part. He had the new part in his truck and now the unit is working like new. I would recommend Jims for their honesty, reliability and modest charges.

Ralph and Jack were at my house three times. The first two times, the dryer was working. It had been completely non-functional prior to their arrival. Ralph couldn't find anything wrong, although he checked what he could. He said to get an electrician to check the circuit breaker and electrical outlet. The dryer worked briefly after he left both times. After I had the electrician out (Wilcox Electric) and he couldn't find anything wrong, the dryer worked briefly and then stopped again. Ralph returned and this time it wasn't working when he arrived. He did some tweaking and it came on, but he said there wasn't really anything he could do and that I would need to replace the machine (it's a stacking washer/dryer, and the washer works fine). Good news. The dryer has worked since he left, but I suspect the unit will eventually need to be replaced. Jim's Appliance Repair guarantees their work for 30 days, so I only paid the first time Ralph came to the house.

Absolutely TERRIBLE! The technician they sent tested a wire and told me that there was no power going to the hood and that I needed and electrician. The electrician that came out showed me that the appliance repairman had tested the WRONG wire! So now, I had to spend $100 for an electrician to tell me that the appliance repairman was wrong and that the problem was obviously the control panel. A knowledgable technician should have known which wires to test and could have been able to correctly diagnose the problem. When I contacted Jim's Appliance Repair, they wanted to send out the same guy because he is their best technician. No apology, no attempt to make this right. They don't even care that they cost me an extra 100 dollars on an electrician and several hours of my time. I have decided to have someone who is familiar with the Thermador brand do the repair rather than deal with a company that I do not trust to repair my expensive vent-hood correctly.

My dishwasher had a week left on the extended warranty when it stopped completing the cycle. Jim's is an approved Miele repair service and had done a good job on another occasion, so I requested them when I spoke with Miele. John was prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and almost immediately determined that the fault was a bad outlet, not the dishwasher -- but he took the time to thoroughly check out the dishwasher and make sure it was going through all its cycles when it was plugged into a good outlet. He explained everything he was doing and gave me advice about dealing with Miele if a problem should arise after the warranty expires.

The repair men were on time and actually called when another client cancelled to see if I wanted them to come early! They came the same day that I called and were very professional and kind. They only charged me the service fee because the repair was so simple. They were very accommodating and understanding.
