There are very few well drillers in southern Maryland, but I certainly would look for someone other than Watson & Johnson the next time we need such services. Our old well failed while we were away for the year and had tenants in the house, so it was quite important that we, the tenants, and the contractor all knew just what days the work was going to be done. We asked them at the very least to please contact the tenants before they began work. They were not the slightest bit helpful and showed up completely unannounced. The job took much longer than they expected, and they left such a mess that we had to pay hundreds of dollars to re-grade the area around the new well to restore proper water-runoff management. They misplaced the legally required well tag, and it took them months to find it and get the new well certified. Finally, we just discovered (2015, nearly six years after their work) that they failed to seal the well cover properly, leaving small gaps where the electrical cables to the pump enter the well, and some ants had built a nest inside the well cover, causing the well-sanitation test to fail when we recently sold the house.
Find someone else.

He did the inspection on short notice and did it on the same day. I got the report, his license and he was certified. I was satisfied with him. I called a bunch of other providers and they were giving me a next week appointment. He had the lowest price.
