I don't have any complaints. Everything seems to be working. They are just down the street, so it is very convenient. When we went, we knew it was going to long day, so they actually drove me home. I didn't have to wait.

I pulled in without an appointment and they quickly scheduled me and did repairs so I could get back on the road.  They did a quick assessment of the car systems at no charge, made recommendations for future servicing (fluids, wear on parts, exterior lights, etc.), but were not pushy in any way to perform these services.  They followed up by e-mail with a thank-you and customer service survey.

Fooled me twice.     Our truck stopped running and we had it towed to Hillmuth.   They quickly diagnosed the fuel pump as the problem and explained that they needed to "drop the gas tank" to replace the part.   They made the repair and two days later my wife broke down in the middle of rt32 with fuel spilling out under the truck.   We again had it towed to Hillmuth.  They told me that a clip broke on the fuel line.  They claimed that it had nothing to do with the repair two days prior.   I asked if the clips were removed for the prior repair and they said yes but clips break all the time and it was not related to the repair.   I hit the roof and they replaced the clip at no charge.  No admission or apology from them.

I had a prior experience a year earlier when the check 4wd light was on....they recommended servicing the 4wd components.   On getting the truck home the 4wd light remained on.  I called them back and they said that the service they performed did not include running a diagnostic to see what the light was about and that diagnostic would be around $150.

They always recommended work that turned out to be unnecessary.
The last straw came on our last visit when they recommended a number of services including flushing the brakes on our Honda Pilot. Their estimate was high. We took the vehicle to the dealer who had lower costs and told us that Honda recommends against flushing the brakes because it forces any debris into small orifices in the system. They drain the brakes. The dealer costs were lower and they recommended fewer services.
I strongly recommend not using Hillmuth in Glennwood MD.

Well my truck was misfiring really bad and decided I shouldnt drive it, so I had it towed to the nearest shop(this one). They call me a few hours later and say they scanned the truck and determined that one of the O2 sensors was bad and it was going to cost $700.00 to replace one and $1000 to replace both. At first I thought it was a joke but unfortunately is wasnt. I was almost insulted. I looked up the parts and they cost $50-75 each. Do the math. Its a job that takes less than an hour, easily. So I promptly hooked up my trailer and went to pick up the truck and before handing me the keys it me with a bill for $270. I almost passed out. Now I took automotive in school and worked at a couple dealerships. Ive scanned gm vehicles hundereds of times. In less than 5 minutes I could hook up a Tech2 and locate a bad O2 sensor. I asked how long it took to do the diagnostics and he looked me in the eye and said 2 HOURS. How to these people sleep at night. I hope someone tries to contact me and give my some money back.
