W J Expert Tree Service

We highly recommend Joseph Welson of WJ Expert Tree Service. We found Joseph to be very professional and punctual, both on the day he gave us his estimate and on the actual work day. He was very knowledgeable about trees, and how to cut them down next to power lines and other vegetation. We were worried about several things around the cutting, but his knowledge and the way he communicated with us put us at ease. He took down several ash trees, which were either dead or dying due to the insect eating these trees. He climbs the trees himself, and brings an assistant - he doesn't contract out his services. We were very impressed by his skills, when we saw him cutting down the branches and trunk pieces, lowering many of them down with a rope and dropping others with great aim thereby preventing any damage to vegetation or property. On the day of the estimate, we discussed several pricing options from complete removal of all cut wood including cleanup of the yard, to just cutting down the trees and leaving the cleanup to us. We chose the option of keeping the cut trees in our yard for firewood, so that we would do the final cleanup ourselves. He and his assistant left us the wood nicely arranged in a pile, and he cut the thick trunks into easily manageable 18-inch pieces. Joseph's prices are very reasonable, and we paid him at the end of the day. Hid did not ask for a deposit or trip fees, and there were no surprise charges. We will not hesitate to contact him again, should we need his services in the future. He is licensed and insured.

Welson (the owner) was in the area when I called, and came by 20 minutes later. He quoted me a good price for the work (less than other larger companies), which I accepted. He came by with two other guys the next Saturday morning and completed the job. Welson did all the climbing work himself, which was quick and impressive. The guys cleaned everything well. My kids (and I) were glued to the window watching (see included picture). Nice/polite guy, who clearly has a lot of experience working in trees. I would not hesitate to call him again.

It went fine. He completed the job the same day and he was paid at the end. He stated that you do not pay him until after the service is done.

He did a very good job in a timely manner and cleaned up the area after his team's work. Very easy to work with and I will use his services again.

They did excellent work. They did a real good job. They were on time and were dependable. I would recommend them. I would definitely have them back again. It took them several days and when they were done each day, they would come and get me and ask if there was anything else I would like to have done. They kept checking to make sure that I was happy with their work and that it was satisfactory. If there was anything that needed to be changed, they would change it. They said they would show up at a certain time on a certain date and they did. They told me some things about the trees that I didn't expect. They cut down a gum tree. I had 5 other estimates and none of them ever called it a gum tree; they called it another type of tree. They knew the types of trees. There were a couple of trees that were real close to the house and they removed them without any problems. They were as comparable as any of the other tree services in price range. All of them came down to $3,900 and this guy started at $3,900. He did tell me to get other bids and that he would beat them. He wasn't like a used car salesman trying to sell me something. It is a small company with him and two other guys. They cut down 5 big trees.

This year I had a tree die that needed to be removed.
Mr Joseph gave me a prompt on the spot estimate.
I gave him the job and he came the following week to do the work.
He now has a grinding machine that lets him grind tree limbs.
Don't confuse him with larger companies, he's a small one to two person company.
I was amazed to see that he can climb tall trees without spikes - he uses ropes and muscle.
He is extremely polite. Do not confuse his politeness with his ability - he's a pro!
