Sears

Refrigerator arrived with a dent in the freezer door. No problem. Mistakes happen. I called Sears immediately. They offered to send partial refund or replace it and I accepted the refund. I called a couple weeks later to tell them that I did not receive check. They said that they can not now send a check because they have no record of complaints made 30 days in the past. Their computer automatically wipes out records after 30 days. The warranty I purchased was also not helpful to fix door. So I was left with a new dented refrigerator that I paid someone to install. I called again, assuming I first spoke with an ill-informed customer care person. I couldn't believe that Sears would deliver a refrigerator with a dent in the door and stand behind that. No luck. She confirmed what the first customer care representative said. Over time I called a third and forth time. No one that I spoke to has been helpful. If anything, I got the distinct feeling (after speaking with four separate people) that the customer care are trained to pacify customers if they call within 24 hours of delivery, and then afterwards when calls come in, to immediately find reasons (early in the phone call) to not help. I am grateful that it is only a small dent. It's only an aesthetic concern. But the experience has taught me that Sears does not stand behind their warehouse and delivery services.

It was delivered and they took the old one away. It was very easily available, it was on sale. Actually, I went up to the store a few times before I talked to a salesman, so I knew what I wanted, so it went very smoothly. Delivery was great, they came a little earlier than they said they'd be and I was actually still cleaning out the old one, so they helped me in order to take it away. The whole exchange of refrigerators didn't take long at all. They got the old one out and new one in and set up and they were gone. I haven't had any problems with it since. I'd give them all "A's". I certainly would purchase appliances from them in the future.

It turned out cheaper. There would have been an addition but I didn't get charged extra because it was a groupon special. When they finished they were trying to sell me like repair plans or everything else that they found.

Freezer keeps building up with frost on inside. (happened before) and
thought it was a defrost problem. No, the service person said, you have
to Vaseline the outside of the rubber panel, and pull the door by the
middle of the arm, and move the inside of the drawers and make sure they
are perfectly aligned each time.

They were late and never called to indicate that they would not make the 4 hour window that they initially indicated. Then, the service tech was a real unprofessional grump. Price was sky high to do the work. Stay away folks. These people are no good.

It was a nightmare dealing with Sears.

They provide warranty repair as well.  They do major appliances too.

I liked that they had options for us to choose from so we did not have to choose a really expensive model if we didn't want to. There were lots of options. The sales representative listened to our needs and he didn't try and pressure us to purchase a unit that was more expensive than what we needed.
