Shawn listened to what I wanted and suggested a reasonably priced unit that was just what I wanted--aesthetically pleasing, easy to use, and reversible, if when I sell my home the new owners prefer wood. They showed up right on time, and the installation took all of 3 hours. Shawn had told me they would have to make 2 holes in my basement ceiling to run the gas line, but they managed with just one. They explained how to use everything. It works great, looks nice, and puts out quite a bit of heat (and will work if the power goes out).

I can't praise this company enough. After purchasing an auctioned property I quickly learned that getting the gas turned on was going to be my biggest and most expensive obstacle. I spent days contacting and meeting with every local plumbing company I could find on the internet. Every company told me that the process would take several weeks and it would cost me well over a thousand dollars. In a last ditch effort I returned to google in the hopes that I could find someone who could help me. After posting a brief description on the McAllister Plumbing homepage I received a call from a gentlemen named Shawn. Shawn couldn't of been more knowledgeable of the service I was requesting and immediately quoted me a price that was almost half of what every other plumbing company quoted me. He then forwarded me to a lady named Terri who updated me on every step throughout the process. Shawn and Terri take the phrase well-oiled machine to a whole new level. They turned what I initially thought was going to be my biggest and most expensive obstacle into a piece of cake. I challenge anyone out there to find a more competent company. McAllister Plumbing is the only company you need to know when it comes to plumbing.

Sean has been to our house before to work on our gas fireplace. He has always been able to repair any problem we have had in one visit and is well done. Sean is friendly and trustworthy.

We used McAllister plumbing in the past to replace our hot water heater and install a back up battery sump pump system. These jobs went fine and the price was good. However we are now very displeased with this company.Since then we have had other jobs come up with leaky toilets, faucets and possibly a new sump pump to be installed in another part of the basement. I called to set up an appointment and he was a no show; did not even call until the end of the day to say he got caught up on another job. Ok, fine... so I called back in a few days to reschedule and never got a call back. I called atleast 3 other times (my mistake) and never got a call back. Finally I gave a last chance and called, he actually answered this time and said he would be there Monday. Guess what it is Monday evening and he didn't show....again.
We have always paid same day and never had an issue, so I know the problem isn't us. What gives?

I was concerned about a smell coming from my gas fireplace. He checked the fireplace and found that I had not been using both burners but otherwise found no problem. He was professional and friendly.

He and his crew completed the job quickly, and they did so at a very fair price. I'm very happy with all of his work.

He was quick, he came out on a Saturday and looked at the last minute things. Their price is fair, reliable and honest. He does not charge extra and does what he needs to be doing. We originally contacted them for our water heater and he was $2000 less than other people.

We've had Shawn to our house several times to do miscellaneous plumbing jobs, and we are very impressed every time! His estimates are always very competitive (He was about $2k cheaper than many places for the tankless water heater), and he does high quality work! We had an old 1960's blue bathtub, with a lead drain pipe. We wanted to update things a little, so Shawn came out and gave us an estimate to remove the old bathtub, replace the lead drain pipe with new PVC (I think that's what it is?) drain pipe, and then install the bathtub along with the drain and overflow. It looks absolutely fantastic - we are very happy with this. This portion cost us about $225. We also had our dishwasher quit working on us, and needed a new one put in. Shawn removed and disposed of our old dishwasher for us, and installed the new one we already had. He also replaced the valves under the sink that shut off the water to the dishwasher since it was very old and didn't actually shut off the water completely. While under the sink, he also replaced the Hose Bibb that we had outside. It had a very bad leak and we often couldn't get it to not leak. The new one is great! :) Finally, the largest thing we had done....We had our old tank hot water heater removed, and a new Rinnai R75LSi tankless water heater installed! Shawn and his guys removed the old water heater and disposed of it, removed and capped off the old vent pipe, installed the new venting for the tankless water heater, and installed the new water heater. Shawn had to route some new plumbing lines and gas lines in order to make them fit up with the new water heater. Everything works wonderfully, and we are extremely happy with how it went! We will definitely be using Shawn in the future, and would highly recommend him!
