Can't rave enough. Took time to explain scope of problem and charges. explained to me how to get free error codes from Auto Parts store-- Honda wanted to charge me a $100 diagnostic fee. Towed vehicle to/from home. Excellent job with extremely fair pricing-- much less than dealer.

I put a bad review on the site because they quoted me a price and then later the price increased. I was very upset because I had so many people tell me that they were the best and honest. I had already made up my mind that they were going to do the work. Well when the price increased I was not happy and even considered selling my truck. Last Monday I received a call offering me the first quote. I agreed and they came and picked up my truck and did the work that needed to be done. I am now very happy because my Rocky is fixed and running well.

Brought our car into our local shop for transmission issues and they told us it was "too big" a problem for them to handle. They didn't really have anyone to recommend and none of our friends had any recommendations either so we started our search. We came across Glen Burnie Transmissions and the reviews available. It all looked good so I send an email request. The owner called shortly after to discuss the problems we were having and get an idea of what we were looking at both repair and price wise. Mark offered the free towing to get the car to them. We took him up on it, they were prompt and careful. The next day Mark called to tell us what they had diagnosed and gave us a quote for $550. We agreed, they ordered the parts and we waited for the call. A few days later (and an epic snow storm) Mark called to say that the repairs were completed and the problem was an easier fix than anticipated, turned out to be $300 instead. The car was clean upon return, it's shifting beautifully and sounds running great. Mark was knowledgeable, honest, and easy to talk to. They for sure have our business should need need ever arise again and I feel comfortable giving 5 stars.

I thought the towing was good because their towing was cheaper than the towing through my auto insurance. The warranty they provided was good. I liked that they don't do transmission rebuilds, only new transmissions. They did a wonderful job with the transmission. I highly recommend them. I found them to be extremely responsive. The work was done in a timely fashion. They just did very good work and they stand by that work. We're a little bit further away from them, but the service and quality of the work was worth the trip. If you need a transmission, they're the people to go to.

Everything went well. They kept me up to date with scheduling and got the work done by when I needed my vehicle. They didn't look for a more complicated and expensive solution. Good price and would definitely use again, even though location is not convenient for me.

Excellent! I thought that I needed a new transmission that I was told would cost about $2200. It turned out that the transmission was O.K., but some other parts needed to be replaced.

We had a 2004 Honda Odyssey that needed a transmission. We hadn't been able to drive it for over a year. We checked around several different places and finally settled on Glen Burnie Transmission because they offered the best price and a warranty.
From the start we dealt with "Mark" from GBT. He was honest and professional about what needed to be done and gave us a fair estimate. We were unable to drive the transmission so they made arrangements to have pick it up and tow it to their location to have the work done.
After being out of operation for more that a year there were other things that needed attention and GBT called us to let us know then gave us a fair price. We were very pleased with the professionalism, quality of the work and experience with Glen Burnie Transmission and in particular with Mark. We would strongly recommend using their services.We've been driving the Van since April and have not had any problems.

I left the car overnight and was assured the estimate would be free. I could then decide what I might wish to do and how much of it I wanted to do. Amazingly, Dax (I think that's his name), phoned me this morning to share the most BEAUTIFUL news I'd heard in a long time. Glen Burnie Transmissions mechanics had thoroughly examined the car and had taken the time to fully understand what had happened and why I was having it serviced in the first place. They cleared the 5 codes the cars system was showing. Then they test drove it. VOILA!!!! Problem solved! It was explained to me that the car's automatic sensors recognized there was a problem when the transmission fluid was mistakenly drained. As a result, the car went into "protective mode". So it shut itself down considerably in an attempt to force the driver to take it to a mechanic. When sensor was cleared....problems were cured. So the next things out of my mouth were "THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!" and "How much is this diagnosis and cure going to run me?" Imagine my surprise when Dax said "nothing". Since GBT offers free estimates, and there was nothing wrong after clearing codes...there is no charge.
I WILL NEVER USE ANYONE ELSE! IN THIS DAY AND AGE.....THE COMBINATION OF FAIRNESS, HONESTY, PROFESSIONALISM, REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND QUALITY WORK IS HARD TO FIND! THESE GUYS ARE THE REAL DEAL!!!!!!!!!!

From start to finish, a first class job. Over the course of a couple of weeks, I had phone or face to face conversations with Mark Schwartzman (owner), Brian Murphy (service advisor), Dex (service advisor) and Joyce (office manager). All the questions and concerns were addressed. I brought the car in around 8:00 AM one morning and they said it would be done by the next day. Received a call the next day in the morning (just about a 24 hour turnaround) and the car was done. They have the right formula for success...exceed the customer's expectations.

Vehicle was towed free of charge to provider's location and test driven back when complete. Turnaround was quick and there have not been any issues since vehicle was returned. Price was as quoted and process was simple.

My mechanic checked the van with his computer and found that it needed a transmission and he does not work on transmissions. I called Glen Burnie Transmission and talked to Gus,their service advisor. Gus quoted me a price of $2600.00 to install the transmission.He told me when the van would be done and the work was completed on time. The mechanic did a great job and the van has run perfectly since. The final price was exactly what Gus said it would be. This was the second vehicle that I have taken to this shop and was given excellent and professional service. I also recommended the shop to my brother recently and he had a very positive result.

First, they changed the transmission fluid and filter before working on the leak. They should have tried to fix the leak first.
They could not get the CV axle out of the transmission, so they could not fix the leak. So, they charge me for trying to remove the CV axle and for changing the transmission fluid and filter. Then, they said that they don't work on the internals of the transmission. They only do minor maintenance and replace transmissions. So, they could either replace my transmission or send me on my way.
One very good thing that they did was to tell me that they knew a place that would probably be willing to work on my problem. They were even nice enough to drive my car to this other shop which was a couple of miles from their location.
Bottom line, they performed a service that was a total waste to me and did not fix my problem.
After reading my review above, the owner of Glen Burnie Transmission reviewed the situation and provided his response below. He also called my home and left a message for me reviewing the situation and his actions. That he took the initiative to review the situation and agree that the transmission fluid change service should have been done only after successfully fixing the leak is very commendable. The refund of the cost of the transmission fluid change service was totally unexpected on my part and was a very nice surprise. Based on this followup by Glen Burnie Transmission I have updated my review. I find them to have a high level of integrity and would not hesitate to recommend them to someone who needs a new transmission.

"[member name removed], Thank you for your review on Angie's List. I submitted a reply earlier, but the site had a software glitch. If this is the second response, than this is why. I talked to Dex Cheney, the Service Adviser who wrote your ticket. It said on the ticket to check axle seal leak and if ok, service transmission. Well the mechanic thought lets service the transmission first, then I will take off the tire, remove the axle, and install the seal. It is normally a simple 1.5 hour job. Well as we know, when he went to take out the axle, it was wedged into the transmission and could not be removed to replace seal. We rarely see this, and we noticed the axle looked brand new. Dex told me it was then you told him you just recently installed it yourself, and then notice the leak, and that you could not remove it. If we would have known that from the beginning, we may have proceeded differently. Anyway, after talking to Dex, we made a mistake in charging you for the transmission service. All you should have been charged for is the time that we spent in trying to remove the axle to replace the seal. The charge should have been for 1 hour of labor or $93. I am sending you a check today for $127.85, which represents the balance of the invoice. Thanks again for your patronage, and if you have anymore questions, please call me.
