Moving
The movers showed up one hour ahead of the scheduled time and wanted to "start the clock" immediately. We were finalizing packing, but said "ok". After the loaded the apartment's boxes, they drove the 5 miles to the drop off location and refused to open anything until we signed off for a progress payment. As we reviewed the charges, I noticed they were billing us for 5 hours drive time (each way) from Maryland to Blacksburg, VA! We thought we had hired a local Blacksburg mover and they never disclosed in advance they were located in MD. When we booked them, all we did was search 'blacksburg movers" and Movers US came up as a match. When I said this was misrepresentation, they said they "would dump everything on the curb if I refused to pay the $1,600 plus! I got their manager on the phone and he also refused! I would AVOID Movers US at all costs. A horrible experience and bordered on fraud.
