He was prompt and professional and did the work quickly.  I would use him again.

In the first visit, Jim diagnosed 5 different plumbing-related problems we were having and gave us options for moving forward -- but never
pushed us to do anything or tell us anything was a "must-fix."  He was very straight forward on describing what he would do, available options, pricing and timing for everything. For one of our issues, he gave us an alternative solution that required no cost at all!
In the second visit, Jim replaced our leaky kitchen faucet (he gave us suggestions on a replacement faucet, which now works flawlessly after his the installation), swapped out a glass basin sink for a ceramic one (more of a cosmetic fix, but we were having some leaks with the glass basin sink) and most importantly, replaced our 16 year old water heater.  
Jim was extremely punctual, showed all his work, was very transparent about his pricing and left our house spotless. A very friendly, competent and trustworthy professional -- I would recommend him to anyone.

Upgraded 3 leaking valves. I can do basic plumbing, but this was beyond me. Special tools and parts, no problem. The finished result was perfect.

All of the work has been done professionally and has included clear explanations of the work done, and clear recommendations for us to avoid future problems.

He did a really crappy job with my bathroom. It's the reason why I have to redo it. The lever for the tub leaks. It's defective. The handle is wobbly, and the gasket started falling off. I called him because there was black stuff coming out. He came over, took it out, and left. He just ran in and ran out. I think his customer service skills need work, along with his attention to detail. I would not recommend him. I was very disappointed. He laughs at you when you have a question like you're some sort of idiot.

It went well. He's very responsive.

Arrived exactly at the time committed. Had repair done in less than 20 minutes. Also asked him to replace the hot water shut-off to the lavatory which was also in a state of marginal functionality. Total time for repair of both valves was approximately 30 minutes. Contractor is personable and very fast in his work. Highly recommended!!

He's a very pleasant fellow. I think he is very fair in his rates. He even discounted his rate to $105 because he wasn't here working for a full hour.

This was not a real emergency but our garbage disposal wasn't working so we contacted J. Crouse. He gave us a date (for the following Monday) but we called him early that morning to let him know our neighborhood had no power (after a storm). We called him the next day and he arrived On time. He was a very nice young man, very polite, very efficient and we thought reasonably priced. Also, we appreciated his flexibility.
