I ended up selecting Michael over Home Depot - felt more comfortable with his experience and the fact that I knew I would be working with him directly. Michael did a great job installing the doors - my house is on the older side and the door frames are not the easiest to accommodate. I would absolutely hire him again and recommend his services.

I had originally contacted the person who had done a similar repair for me a few years earlier, but that person (who I originally found on Angie's List) did not respond to my emails.  So I searched for another business - and Byers Security had an "A" rating and was only a few miles away from my house.  Mike was responsive, came by to do an estimate which was quite reasonable.  He completed the repair and then treated the other posts so that they would not rust so quickly.  I would definitely use him again and would recommend him.

Mike Byers was responsive at all stages, estimate and installation.  He explained what he intended to do, accounted for my goals, and delivered as indicated.

It was excellent. He came when he were supposed to finished the job. I would recommend him. He had to replace some metal railing, did some cement works and he did everything he was supposed to.

Overall, I had a good experience interacting with this company. The provider who assessed the job was knowledgeable about the subtleties of the work needed, and communicated those issues to me. After two months, the installed and repaired railings remain solidly in place, and I am satisfied with the result. One minor aesthetic issue was that the black spray painting done on the new railing was a rather light coat and I needed to apply another coat of paint.

Byers' price was 30% less than the other bid I got for the job. Mike Byers did all the work himself. He was very cooperative in working around other jobs being done in the same area. He was very responsive at letting me know when the railings would be delivered to him and ready for installation. The finished product looks fantastic.

I had some wrought iron railing in the front of my home that had become loose. In fact it was very wobbly and I was concerned it would not be able to support the weight of a person should they slip and reach for it. I contacted Byers Security, a mom and pop shop out of Germantown, MD via an online form on their website. Mike called and we arranged a time for him to have a look. Mike showed up on time and gave me a few options on how to addresses the railing. The most cost effective would be to remove 3 loose posts and then weld new ones to the existing railing. I was given an estimate of $375 ($125 per post), which I thought was very reasonable. They are a cash only business and I had to put a 1/3 deposit down. I thought that was a little odd, but hey the price was right. I had called and left a message on their "office" voicemail letting them know I accept the proposal and would like to move forward with the job, but didn't hear back. After a week I called Mike directly and was able to get the date/time for the job sorted out. Mike showed up on time the day of the job. He did excellent work and even re-cemented in some of the existing posts. I am very pleased with the quality of the work and the cost. I would definitely hire them again.
