Mr. Poulin and company were on the jobsite for three and a half weeks. Per the contract which was a pay as you go (suggested by Mr. Poulin) Mr. Poulin was to accept a deposit at the beginning of work and the remaining balance was to be paid upon satisfactory completion of the work. Mr. Poulin requested and received $9000 per week until my savings were exhausted. At that point I told Mr. Poulin that he had used up and exceeded all of my savings. I live in a modest home and the cost overruns created by Mr. Poulin would have exceeded the value of the house if allowed to continue to completion. I asked for and never received an appropriate invoice of Mr. Poulin's expenditures. This would include cost of materials, cost of labor, his cost of doing business and his profit margin. My recommendation, unless you have an extremely deep pocketbook (money is no option) DO NOT hire KCP home improvement
Description of Work: Hired Mr. Poulin's company to finish interior of sunroom, bath and bedroom addition.. New Rooms had already been erected and HVAC systems installed. Mr. Poulin waas supposed to complete electrical work, insulate and sheetrock. He was also contracted to install 2 LVL boards to existing walls as this was a loadbearing wall and this would allow the addition to become open to the existing rooms. Bear in mind Mr. Poulin only has two workmen in his company. One man is knowledgeable and takes on the foreman role in the business. The other is Mr. Poulin's son who demonstrated no initiative, expertise or knowledge of the work being performed. He assumed the role as helper, being instructed step by step work that he was to perform. This turned out to be a very slow progression of work. Mr. Poulin had his foreman perform electrical work that failed and electrical inspection per Anne Arundel County Department of Inspection and Permits. I paid dearly for this work since Mr. Poulin was pulling in $9000 a week in draws for the work and he failed to use a qualified licensed electrician. After being on the jobsite for three and a half weeks I suspended the work due to my savings being completely exhausted. I am left with an addition that basically looks the same as the day Mr. Poulin began work except for the beams that were installed in the exterior wall to open up the existing house to the addition.

The work was good but pricing was very high. I told Mr. Poulin after he gave me the estimate that we couldn't afford to do all of the work right now because of their pricing. They did some electrical work and promised a certain price and then charged almost $400.00 more than Mr. Poulin stated. After I called him and asked for a refund on the overcharge, he sent me an e-mail saying he would refund some of the $. It is now May 2nd, and he still has not refunded the $.
Description of Work: They performed general painting, drywall work, electrical lighting.

It didn't go well. See details above.
Description of Work: I had a number of jobs to be done in the house, each fairly small in and of itself. I had previously had a good experience with KCP, so I hired them to do these jobs. For some reason, they had completely changed. They agreed to work every day until the jobs were done, but they didn't do that. They agreed on a price, then changed the price. They ended up substantially overcharging me for what they did. And they were no where nearly as pleasant as they had been on the first job. As a result of all this, I can no longer recommend KCP.
