There was a small scratch on the door that was hardly visible. It was one of those things where they don't paint things sometimes so much as spray a powder on it and kind of bake it. That made it impossible really to repair the scratch because paint would look funny and the door was very expensive and I didn't want to send it back and wait for another door so I just decided to overlook that. That last service was to call them back to deal with the scratch and deal with the fact that part of the door knob was a little bit loose and it was causing some damage to the door. The door itself was very expensive. It was a beautiful door but expensive. When they came back again it was to look at again at the little scratch and also to fix the knob so I say the responsiveness on it was fairly good in terms of time.

Below you can read what I wrote to Long Windows in regards to my
experience with them. They have an "A" review on here which is very in
accurate. As a business owner and a contractor myself these reviews can
be altered with enough money in advertising with Angie's List. Be careful
who you hire, I wasn't so currently I'm in litigation with Long Windows
and I do not advise anyone to use them for ANY of their services. The
COO of the company Dave Normandin  is incompetent when it comes to
windows and is the most insulting person I have ever met! He is the guy
that told me to use hairspray... really? 13k for windows and use
hairspray to make them slide better? My windows were never installed
properly and I refused to pay the balance, I was told in order to have
my issues fixed it would be warranty work... warranty work that would
involve the windows being installed properly in the first place....
correct? not damaging window sill correct? windows slide properly
correct? Steer Clear of these people!!!
Longs crews were at my home  on 4 different occasions for a job that was
supposed to be done in "1 Day" I took off work and waited and had to
clean up after their crews left. I was insulted by one of the
employee/contractors who said "are you crazy, the windows are fine".
Dave came to look at the same window he acknowledged the window wasn't
working properly and told me all I needed to do was spray some hairspray
on there and it "should" be fine. Hairspray? Really? I paid 12k for new
windows that I have to spray a hair product on it to work properly?
Once again unacceptable!!! In addition to the nightmare of installation
the sales guys really screwed me on these "special windows" that will
help with exterior noise and heat, which has not made any difference in
the noise. I can hear a car drive by and max speed on my street is maybe
15MPH... not sure how they helped with noise.Heat is still the same. I
think I would like to get them all replaced with the same windows on the
whole house because they did not do what the guys told me they would
do. I would like for all the repairs to be made under the original work
order since the windows have never been right since install and I will
follow with the payment.

The sales representative arrived an hour early... luckily both my husband and I were available (requirement of the appointment).  We had purchased windows from another company at our prior house and were familiar with the process.  With that said, we weren't prepared for a 4 hour presentation. We should have been made aware of this at the time we made the appointment.  Our windows were really bad; wood frames with gaps allowing the outside in (could barely open them); single panes, and we had to pop in and out the full size screens each time we needed them (had to nail them in to stay in place).   The windows were superior in quality compared to our previous purchase and that is the only reason why we allowed the appointment to continue.  We plan to be in this house for 20-30 years so we were committed to replacing the windows sooner rather than later (we didn't realize how bad they were until winter hit and the breezes could be felt inside the home).

Finally the measurements were completed and prices could be discussed.  Of course they come forward with an outrageous price.  After balking, we negotiated several times until we arrived at a number we'd be willing to pay.  Agreed and moved forward for installation.  The warranty was also fantastic and made the decision easier to make.

Install date was changed due to bad weather; however, on the day of install they arrived promptly and began working at a rapid pace. All in all they did an excellent job.  However  there was a little bit of debris left behind (not much considering the massive work load - and it was a cold/windy day);  there was also a ton of cigarette butts all over the yard.  .As we are non-smokers this irritated me; we also back to woods and do not want trash anywhere on the property..  We discovered several dings/scratches in the walls and ceiling (area by the upstairs steps).  The install was completed in one day.  The sales rep also told us he would be here on install day - he wasn't.  He didn't call either to check up on progress or anything.  Never heard back from him.

L&F has contacted us a few times to conduct an online survey - will do that today - we did not complain to them about anything.

The windows function well and look great. We immediately noticed a difference with the room temperature and the heat pump does not come on nearly as much.  Since we haven't been here a year I cannot compare the energy cost savings - but I'm sure they are there!

Overall we are extremely happy with the purchase and considering the amount of work preformed the dings/debris are rather minimal. I would recommend them to anyone interested in windows!  The quality is superior to others we have seen and have previously purchased (about 5 years ago).

We would have loved for our french doors to be replaced too; however, I was not willing to pay the prices they "lowered" the prices to... even at the great quality.

We’ve been happy with them.  They get here early and they’re finished by the middle of the day; they came and went quickly.  The windows seem to work well which is important. I think they’re excellent.  We’ve had the windows replaced before because they leaked.  I don’t know if I could have had it done more cheaply but the Long windows seem to work so I continue with that company.  I love my front door, I think It is pretty.  My husband wasn’t happy with the storm door but they came back promptly and replaced it.  The carpenter put up a plastic screen all around so the dust was contained.  There was a mistake on the door; the door had to have a storm door so we could have the sun come in.  We had to reorder it but they took care of it.  What I found helpful about this company was that the person that came out was really very good about making suggestions about a window replacement for the big picture window.  I’m really happy with the style.  We also have a huge window in the kitchen and she was very helpful in finding a replacement window that I liked.

The installers arrived on time (8:00 am) on the agreed date and completed the removal of the old windows and installation of the new windows by 2:30 pm with debris left behind and no mess in the house.  The installers were polite and professional and covered the entire work area which was totally carpeted.  There was no vacuuming required after they left.
