"Mr. [Member’s name removed], I apologize for your concerns and your previous bad experience. Like I mentioned before in my response, we address any issues or complaints directly with all of our customer if there was an unsatisfactorily result on the final product. As you may already know you have a 2 year warranty on your work that covers any job performance or workmanship issues. However, this warranty does not have any cash value and no refunds are rendered since the job was completed 100%. Not only that, your deck got ruined by an unexpected rain and we gladly came out to do it again at no extra cost to you. As a company we still have to pay our technicians to do the work again since it is not their fault or nobody's fault for that matter. Unfortunately It is just nature and we can't predict the outcome. So just the fact that we came back to redo the job again shows our integrity and commitment to our customers since your satisfaction is our main priority. I know you had to wait several days for the work to be done, etc. but as we explained to you on several occasion via verbal and writing, we have no control of the weather and we work on a first come first basis. We also explained to you in advance that that may happen and it is even stated in writing in the work agreement that you signed. While it may be an inconvenience, our main priority is to make sure that the job is done professionally in a timely manner as long as weather cooperates. That's why when we rush into getting the job done, we may run into unexpected weather and get the finish ruined which will prolong the job even longer. Again at DeckMaster we offer the 2 year warranty on all of our work so if you ever had a concern of any kind about the job performance, I would have expected you to let us know right away to correct it. If we don't hear from you, we will assume everything is correct. As far as I know, you approved the final work and even paid the job in full and never complained about any of this. Now over 6 months later you are requesting a refund via this route without even addressing your issues or concerns with us. I even responded on your initial bad review and emphasize on you calling us to address your concerns and evaluate the project. Because if there was something wrong with the job, we will fix and that's why you have the warranty. We are just taking your word for it at this point in time. In addition I contacted last Friday and left a message with your wife to call us back to discuss this further with you and I still haven't received a response from neither one of you. I don't know why. So my resolution is to please call us back to set up an appointment to come and evaluate deck and address any issues that there might be since you're still under the warranty period. However, we cannot issue any refunds since this is the first time we hear about your complaints after so many months and secondly that's why you have a warranty on the work to cover against any issues. If the reason of your request was because of the inconvenience of job delays due to weather, I apologize but we are very transparent to all of our customers and our terms and conditions are very clear that we never express or imply any guarantee on turnaround times due to imminent weather conditions or delays just like any other company in the industry goes through the same process or inconvenience. The terms and conditions that you signed read the following: "DeckMaster, Inc. reserves the right to re-schedule appointment without notice due to imminent weather, availability of materials, project dalays, or acts of God". In conclusion please call us if you would like to work with us directly and we would gladly come to evaluate your project and discuss any possible issues that you may have. Thank you and look forward to hearing from you soon. Best Regards, Jose Ugalde President DeckMaster, Inc."
"I'm sorry to hear that. I can understand that you did not get the estimate right away and that you were expecting a response from us. However, our e-mail accounts and call tracking system let us know if we missed any calls or e-mails. Sometimes the e-mail is sent to the customer with the estimate and they might not get it. I apologize for the fact that the estimator did not follow up with you to make sure you received it. I would have gone beyond by way to make sure that you received your quote should I have heard from you. I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. Sincerely, Jose Ugalde President"
They left me .25 can of paint for the deck and they called it touch up paint. They also didnt leave the paint for the railing. In myexperiecne they l;eave extra paint. They said they didnt haveny paint left. Before I do the review, would you like to bring me back the paint? Theyy said yes and its been over a week and havent heard from them, after several calls. This has a 5 year warranty but when you cant get a hold of a company, that doesnt do me any good. I think that it was done 80% well. The deck could use another coat of paint. The color was too light, even though I told him I wanted slate grey and it turned out to be pale blue. Not even close to the color I wanted. I wish they would have advised me differently on the color as well. Buyer beware: Pick the right color,. stand over them every minute, whats included and whats not included and decide if you want to work with them. I have the final check and haven't heard back from them to give it to them. What does that say?
In the end, however, I was very pleased with the work. My deck is beautiful; it looks even better than I expected. I would recommend Deckmasters, despite the delays.
After two missed appointments by the estimator (one they called a day ahead to reschedule, one they forgot), they came to the house and agreed the stain was failing in those spots. Instead of just doing spots, to ensure the deck looked uniform, Deckmaster voluntarily decided to lightly sand and completely redo the entire deck (which is pretty large). After two delays due to rain, they completed the deck and it looks great. I really appreciated them going above and beyond voluntarily, at their cost, to make sure the deck looked uniform.
They said to wait 48 hours for the deck to dry before moving anything back onto it - I waited that long but my heavy grill's casters still made some marks on the new stain. Next time, I will wait longer for the stain to cure before moving the really heavy stuff on.
The process began on June 10 and was completed on August 9. Most of the time span was due to weathering of the new wood.
Crews arrived on time and performed their jobs well.
Some work had to be delayed by me and DeckMaster accomodated without question.
Deck Master deserves an A+!
