I called in January 2016 to make an appointment. I took the clock there and dropped it off. It took many, many, MANY calls, three trips back to the shop, and dozens of excuses from Mr. Buck as to why the work was not completed. I sympathized to his personal situation, as he had things in his life going on, but it wasn't until September that I even got to pick it up. I went there and he set it up to prove it was working, but by the time I got it home and set up on our wall, it had stopped working again. Mr. Buck said he would come to our home personally to fix it, but he has never come, and now will not return our phone calls. I am not taking my clock back to him. He is not dependable at all.
Description of Work: I needed to get an antique clock repaired, and found The Potomac Clock Shop in a local directory. I am familiar with their location, which is in an upscale community, so I presumed they'd do well.

Apparently Don is not very skilled in repairing anniversary clocks.
Description of Work: I am completely dissatisfied with Time on the Potomac. Despite asserting that he could fix my anniversary clock if I gave him time, he could not. Over what seems now to have been a two year period I was told repeatedly to give him another few months and he could fix it.On at least 3 to 4 occasions but probably 5 to 6, he told me to wait several weeks and he would call me. He NEVER called. I had to contact him. At one point he told me it was fixed. I took it home and it would not keep accurate time and maintain movement. I took it back and went through the same process. I finally just had to take the clock from him. Don is a poor communicator and throws exxcuses around robotically

I have an antique grand father clock. Not everybody can work on antique clocks. I think the difference is that the people who are really good are the people who really love antique clocks. He clearly does. As for that reason I would recommend him. Even if he doesn't get it right the first time he is definitely going to keep trying because it's going to bother him if it's not right. He gets pleasure out of making those old clocks work. I had a guy like that before so I'm glad I found him.
