My lawn has never looked worse. I don't know what kind of chemicals they used, but the yard has just turned into dirt and I have to look at it all winter. I'm going to either get a different service next year or do it myself. I love a thick, green lawn and right now, I have a hard brown patch of dirt.

"We advised you from our initial contact that your lawn has a significant problem with shade. We offered that MAYBE, by planting varieties of shade tolerant grasses, proper watering, proper fertilization, proper mowing height and frequency, we MIGHT be able to help you keep some coverage of turf. We also explained that your lawn needed our Full Service as it would constantly need to be reseeded, each spring and fall. This spring, you chose to downgrade your service with us to our Basic Program, despite our note in the renewal letter saying "This program is not suitable for shady lawns." as this program doesn't include any seeding. Per your emails with Michelle this past fall, YOU reseeded the back yard yourself. We do not guarantee work we do not perform. We have repeatedly told you to trim the trees to allow more sunlight to reach the grass areas as even shade tolerant species of grasses NEED at least 4 hours of light per day so that it can photosynthesize. There are no chemicals, pesticides, fertilizers, soil amendments, additives, etc. available to replace sunlight. There are no grasses which will survive without sufficent light. You need to rethink your landscape design. If you want more grass, you need a lot less shade. If you cannot or will not deal with the shade, you need more ground covers such as pachysandra, periwinkle, or english ivy which will tolerate your low light condition. You may also want to look at liriope which looks a lot like grass and will do ok in the heavy shade. We do not offer any landscape design services."

I basically chose them from Angie's List. I think they had a B rating. We were impressed with guys professionalism and his knowledge. I've only had to contact them one time with anything special. It didn't have to do with them. It had to do with the lawn. I wanted them to look at something and diagnose it for me. They sent someone out pretty quickly to do that, within 4 or 5 days. I actually called them a number of times because my mother had never had lime put down on her lawn. There's a particular time of year that it's done. We were having that lime put down. I was contacting them a couple of times to find out when they were going to lime. They were liming a little bit later than they had wanted to, which wasn't a problem. They were very upfront about why they hadn't been here yet. They were waiting for their shipment of lime. They told me when they were expecting the shipment and when they would be here. Everything went just as she said with no drama. They were really communicative. The office staff is really, really helpful and personable. They're really different than Trugreen. There price wasn't any higher than anyone else.

I called on a Wed about the brown patches on the front lawn. I was told it was the Brown Spot fungus and that the technician would be out to spray.There was no additional charge since we have the full annual service. Thur. the technician arrived early to complete the summer service and also apply the treatment for the fungus. We were encourage to call back anytime between services if we discovered any problems.

Used the company for my lawn service for 2.5 years. The front lawn looked beautiful in spring and fall. I started with a fall aeration and seeding in 2010 and continued with full treatment in 2011 and 2012. In 2011, when the grass turned awful in August, they attributed it to the heat and lack of rain. In 2012, when the front lawn developed multiple dead patches and the back and side yard died off in August I called to complain. They mentioned that it might be a fungus, but as far as I know, they did not come out until time for thaeration and seeding. Then they didn't seed/aerate much of the side yard and the entire back yard, which by this time had no grass. I noticed this and called to ask why not. When I called, they said that the back year was too shady.and I needed to have trees cut down. I think they should have told me this at the time of the treatment since I thought that I was paying for that service. The owner agreed to reduce the charge for the fall treatment but I had to go elsewhere to get seeding for these areas.
Their price is higher in the first year due to seeding charges.
A good thing about the company: you can talk to the owners about your lawn problems.. The lawn specialist who treated my yard was usually accessible by cell phone, which is also a good thing.. However,because they are expensive I was expecting superior results. The results don't seem to justify the price, so I am not planning on renewing.
