A 95% disappointment. Unprofessional, low quality work and project left unfinished when it was apparent the required correction would cost more than the final payment. Plus Moe tricked me into paying more than the 2/3rds payment (citing cost of electrician, etc) and insisted on what amounted to 90% payment JUST BEFORE showing me his handyman had built out the tub wall 1” short of the tub and they filled in the gap with grout. Shame on him. Shame on me for trusting him. But he comes across as such a caring gentleman. Niches were not placed where indicated, tile did not reach ceiling as requested and gap filled with grout instead of pencil edging, shower curtain rod installed so curtain fell outside the tub (I indicated height and they thought it meant height AND depth), rebuilt walls were rough but painter painted over anyway and when he ran out of paint he stopped painting, uneven wall left gap between drywall and side pencil molding, toilet roll holder mounts set too wide so bar barely holds bar up, epoxy grout was wiped over new ceramic tiles leaving a haze that required a power drill with buff attachment and grout cleaner to fix the most obvious problems, grout cleaner dripped down on glazed bathtub which now needs reglazing, etc. Contractor walked off job preferring to lose $1300 still owed in preference to spending the $3-4000 required to complete job professionally and satisfactorily.

Moe, the owner, is a great person and a gentleman. He has only been kind and generous to me, and I wish him and his business the best, so please understand that as you read my review. I know he has a kind heart so it pains me to write this negative review, but I am writing this to help avoid further disappointment with other customers. If you are looking for "OK" work at a good price, I do recommend Sina Tile. If you have an investment property and you just need your bathroom redone to look marketable, and have it done on time and on budget, I do recommend Sina Tile. However, if you are a perfectionist or have high standards for workmanship then you will not be happy. My issues: 1) I asked for a 3/8" grout width between my tiles because I understand it is extremely difficult to lay heavy tiles uniformly. The lead tiler (not Moe, but one of his men) insisted that 1/8" would look much better. Of course, I agree that 1/8" would look better, but I was skeptical because even if a tile is off by +/- 1/16" of an inch, then the certain grout lines will look up to 3+ times wider than other grout lines. You really have to be skilled to do 1/8" grout lines right. I explained this to the lead tiler and recommended he go with 3/8". Again the lead tiler insisted he could make 1/8" look perfect and that it would look better. I conceded. End result: Exactly what I expected - some grout lines are 1/8" but some are also 1/16" or 3/16". How do you think it looks when one grout line is 1/16" and the one next to it is THREE TIMES WIDER at 3/16"? It looks very amateurish. I was extremely disappointed. See pictures. 2) The tilers used dull box cutter knives to scrape out excess grout. This caused numerous chips on the edges of many tiles. I saw them do this, showed them the damage they were causing, and then asked them to replace the tiles they damaged this way. They replaced something like 8 tiles. But then when I saw them finishing their work, I saw them doing the EXACT SAME THING with the SAME BOX CUTTERS causing NEW chips in the newly replaced tiles. My mind was blown. See pictures. 3) They made a square opening for a round pipe - that in itself is OK if you make the square small enough. They did not make the square small enough. You can see part of the gash they made underneath the cover plate trim. See pictures. 4) There were grout lines that were already cracking 1 day after installation without having been touched by anyone or anything, moisture or otherwise. After all was said and done, I expressed my extreme disappointment to Moe. He added grout to fill in the cracks (#4), which was satisfactory. He made some of the chips (#2) less visible by scraping the grout out of the chipped area. You can still see the chips, but I agree they look somewhat better. But honestly, they shouldn't be chipped at all. The guys shouldn't be chipping the new tiles with dull box cutters. Moe also tried to make things right by offering heavy discounts on future tile work, but I have no confidence in his teams ability to deliver the quality I am looking for. All that said, here are the good points: Moe and his team are punctual, polite, and professional. They arrive on time and complete on time and on budget. He has lots of happy customers and I am sure you can also be a happy customer of his. You should just take a look at the pictures of his work and judge for yourself on whether it is acceptable to you or not. I don't feel good disparaging a local business so much, but if someone had posted a bad review like mine earlier, with details and pictures, I would have saved myself from disappointment and also saved Moe from the headache of having to deal with me. Hopefully I can help others like me - and Moe - avoid eachother with this candid review. And hopefully if you are someone who is OK what is in these pictures, I hope I do not scare you away from Sina Tile. Moe's a good guy and good to work with if you are OK with what you see here - and honestly, most people are. Just make sure you insist on 3/8" grout lines.

Sina Tile did a beautiful job for less than many other bids. We provided the tile, and Moe purchased the backerboard, thinset and grout, and billed us on top of the labor. They were clean, professional and punctual.

Communications were sometimes difficult ,but the job went well. Overall the job took two and a half days. The first two days two men worked full eight hour days. The last day for grouting the floor only took 2 hours. I had to apply the floor tile sealant myself two days later. They cleaned up fairly well and respected our home.

It went pretty average. Tried to upcharge on the agreed upon price which was uncomfortable and annoying. Also, another job came up so they left my basement in a state of chaos for weeks till they came back and finished. Clean up was not done, Dust and food from the workers were left everywhere. They even left behind some of the equipment they used. would not re use pretty far below Angie's List A-standard!

Over all we are very pleased with the outcome of our remodel. We did have a problem with the mosaic tile in the floor of the shower being two different colors. There was no problem getting Sina to redo the tile so that it matched in the end. Although I do not remember what we paid, the price was very competitive.

In 2008 Moe did a great job preparing a subfloor, installing the ceramic tile, and then cleaning up, leaving everything spotless. The work he did still looked great when I sold my house in 2013.
Most recently, when I was d*** my taxes for 2013 I discovered that I needed to know what I paid Sina Tille back in 2008. I hadn't kept any record of that, so I emailed Moe to ask if he could provide the 6-year-old information. He took the trouble to dig out a copy of the bill, and within 24 hours he emailed a copy of it to me! That was service way beyond and above anything I was entitled to.

Sina Tile was prompt in arriving at my home. They diligently prepared the surrounding area to prevent making a mess. Removal of the original tile and underlayment was very tedious since the plywood was glued to
the subfloor. The subfloor was leveled for installing a heated floor. Once the tiles were laid out, the installer meticulously matched the tiles to ensure small grout lines. Please note that slate tiles break very easily. The team came back on a Saturday to grout the tiles and install the plumbing fixtures. I highly recommend Sina Tile.

Installer (Alex) was very good, neat and did not slack off except to take short lunch break. Cleaned up at the end of day and was very professional. Said he had worked for Moe, the owner for 10 years.

Quite well! They responded in a timely manner to our request for a quote and were able to finish the job in a day because of the compact size of our kitchen. They were neat while working and kept us informed at all stages of the job.

SINA Tile did great by us, they were courteous, on time, cleaned the way we would, and did exactly what they said they would. We are not prone to write reviews but the customer service and quality of the product they delivered required us to take the initiative to tel others what we thought of this fine company. If we ever have the opportunity or need again, we will not hessite to entrust SINA with our Tile needs. In a word - wonderful. Thank You Mo.

We used them in January. We had to do a bit of negotiation on the scheduling as they were busy with other jobs. They cleaned up after their work and they delivered. They gave us a timeframe and stuck to it. It was a professional job and excellent work.

I had hoped to do the work myself, had purchased some of the materials, and even started laying the bathroom floor. But found i didn't have the time (or the knees) for the job. I called Moe at Sina Tile, and within a day he came by to give me an estimate, which i regarded as quite reasonable. We agreed on the price and within a few days he had a crew in the basement and working. It took roughly a week to complete -- quick work, I thought, given the scope of the job -- and Moe's crew did an excellent job. Moe was on site at the beginning and end of the day; his crew was responsive to questions; and when they discovered a problem with some of the tile they quickly brought it to my attention so I could rectify the problem. The experience could not have been better, and when I turn next to renovate my bathrooms, Moe will get the call for the tile work.

Outstanding! This was the first time I've done a renovation and I chose to do three bathrooms all at once (HGTV gave me the courage). Sina Tile, the owner is Moe, was so professional, ALWAYS on time, and his crew were also very professional, polite and nice. They kept the areas very clean and at the end of each day they even hand swept the carpet. They were finished in just under one week and my bathrooms look amazing!
I got three quotes before I hired Moe, and his was the only one that had very detailed pricing (so you could pick and choose what you wanted to do or not) and who had a Plumber on his crew (others said I had to get the Plumber separately or charged me about 40% more). He even picked up the materials that I ordered.
My friend (who found Sina Tile) also had her bathroom renovated by Moe the week before and hers too turned out amazing and she received the same type of service.
He's also listed by the Tile Store.

Moe Afrakhteh was the middle priced bid of the three we called. We were impressed with him when he came to estimate .He and his crew of 2 came on monday and finished the job by the end of the week. Actually 4 1/2 days as they let it dry on friday. They were all very professional, well mannered and very experienced. We had no problems and would highly recommend them. Moe even called us several days later to make sure that we were satisfied.

Moe did a great job fixing the floor tiles and wall tiles in the kitchen. He is very detail-oriented and co-operative. When I found out we forgot about the decorative piece when the tiles were done, he was willing to re-do several tiles to meet our needs. Will hire him for future bathroom remodeling.

It turns out installing tile yourself is very hard. We tried to do it ourselves for the floors and walls in our new bathroom. It was a very bad idea. Our tile salesman recommended Mo, and that was a brilliant suggestion. He met with us, took the time to explain what would look good and why. He was able to bring his crew in almost immediately. They were done in two days, every piece of dust was picked up. He was also the most affordable contractor we received estimates from. If I every have another reason to tile anything, I'm calling Mo and not even trying to do it myself.

Mo and his crew were efficient, polite and very skilled. We had several complicating issues caused by a kitchen contractor who made a few errors and Mo helped to solve all of the issues, including bringing in a plumber to move a gas line, an electrician to install under-tile heating, and also repairing some rotten wood and repairing some drywall. I wish he was a general contractor so that he could perform other work for us. An exceptional contractor, and I have no hesitation in highly recommending him.

ifWe renovated 3 bathrooms and a kitchen. Sina tile/Mo and his team did the demo work and laid the new tile. The quality of the work performed was extremely high (my husband is very particular, and was pleased with the result). When issues came up (like the opportunity to expand the shower and the poor shape of the sub floor in the kitchen), Mo presented us with reasonable options to address the issues, and the increase in costs associated with the additional work was fair. The work was completed ahead of schedule. We would use Mo again if we put a bathroom in our basement or put up backsplash in the kitchen. Before hiring Sina Tile, I called many of Mo's references. They were all strong. I had been concerned about his lack of website, etc., but he was highly recommended by the place where we purchased the tile. I was very pleased with our experience and would hire the company again.Best of luck to you!
