From start to finish, this felt like a partnership. SBC - and everyone they sent to do work - was fantastic. The designer listened and had great ideas, the masonry was beautiful, electric and plumbing were solutions oriented and I actually had fun selecting appliances. The final outdoor kitchen far exceeded our expectations and we are already trying to think of our next project with SBC.

Amazing company! From beginning to the end I would give this company a 10 out of 10. At first I worked with the sales designer Chris. He walked me through the whole project and even created digital images for me. He answered every question I had and replied to me at all times throughout the whole project. My project cost roughly 3k more than other estimates but I had full trust in Chris and SBC that paying more was worth it. The material they used was the best and not cheap or look bad. Once project started I worked with the project manager Steve who was in constant contact with me throughout the whole project. He gave me daily updates and was great!! Project was done within the window as promised. Estimate was the same from the beginning to the end. I will be using them in the future!

SBC built a beautiful deck and enclosed porch. We get so many compliments. The material is high quality and sturdy. Steve was great to work with. He was very knowledgeable and easy to get a hold of. Would definitely use this company again to do any outdoor work or upgrades

SBC did great hardscape work for our neighbors, so we called them when it was time for us to have some work done. They responded quickly and provided a quote to replace a failing retaining wall and gave us options to rehab 2 patio areas full of rotting boards. As part of the work on the retaining wall, it became evident that our porch was a safety hazard and needed to be replaced. SBC immediately shored up the porch, and Steve worked with us to re-do the designs and reallocate materials to rebuild our porch, rehab the patios and keep the costs reasonable, including going the extra mile to get certified so that we could maintain the warrant on our roof. We now have a wonderful, maintenance-free outdoor space. We have a number of other outside projects, and SBC will be our first call.

SBC did a fantastic job on our replacement retaining wall in Oct-Nov 2022! The job was done on schedule and within the budget agreed to. The yard looks great and we're more confident our hillside isn't washing away. We're already working with them on two new projects. Thank you!

Beware this Contractor! My experience with this contractor has been a nightmare. I experienced abysmal quality from this contractor from this projects inception. SBC and its owner Brad Crist, didn t follow design instructions, design specs, and exhibited poor execution. Segments of this project had to be torn down and rebuilt multiple times. Mr. Crist initially denied that there were any design defects. SBC Landscaping was hired to install a hard-scape and retaining wall. The total cost of the project was $30,000.00, paid in full, in cash. Properly built retaining walls have a life-span of 50-100 years. The SBC built wall started to fracture within 12 months. The retaining wall has started to bulge and has numerous fractures throughout the structure. All of the retaining wall blocks are becoming separated. The entire structure has to be replaced. Upon obtaining quotes to repair/replace the structure, I became aware that SBC Landscaping did not adhere to the Howard County building codes. SBC NEVER acknowledged, nor addressed the DESIGN DEFECTS or workmanship. Only until I submitted a formal complaint to the Maryland Home Improvement Commission did Mr. Crist admit to the defects in design (documented). The following are the simple, irrefutable facts:  SBC FAILED TO FOLLOW HOWARD COUNTY BUILDING CODES  No permits or engineering plans were submitted - MANDATORY per Howard Co. regulations.  Retaining walls in excess of 3 feet require a permit. The retaining wall is in excess of 48 inches.  Incorrect building materials were used: 6 inch decorative block was used instead of a Lip and/or Pin system for wall stability. The entire wall structure is held together by glue only.  The 1 ½ drainage pipes used are too small and insufficient for proper drainage. None of these issues have ever been addressed or resolved to my satisfaction, nor have been corrected and brought up to Howard County Building code standards. SBC is in breach of implied and express warranties. To date, SBC and Mr. Crist has not responded to calls for arbitration. All stages of this project have been clearly documented. I would be happy to share photographic evidence and correspondence upon request.

SBC Outdoor Services is the best deck contractor I have ever come across. After the harsh winters, our deck was quite damaged. For a long period of time we were looking to remodel the deck area completely and this time around we couldnà ¢à  à  t deny it anymore. We had a particular design idea in our minds for the new deck. The experts at SBC Outdoor Services listened to all our requirements patiently. The team then suggested the right material, estimates and the timeframe for the completion of the project. And I must say they did a mind blowing job. We really appreciate the team.

I had a concrete steps and stone wall project last September/October 2021. It involved a massive amount of work to remove existing steps, landings and sidewalk and then put everything back together. They did the work in the way it should be properly done. This project also needed drainage systems installed to take the water from my front gutter and front landing and another to take water coming from backyard in rainstorms to the drainage ditch along the road. This project was more work than I ever imagined! They worked well and hard to accomplish this one-of-a-kind task ( my house is approximately 200 years old, stone and built into the side of a hill). Proper drainage is paramount because my kitchen, living room and utility room are 8 feet underground then the very front of the house opens to front patio and sidewalk, Their consultant, Joe Milano is great to work with as are the crews and especially the owner of SBC! I will never use anyone else but SBC for all my future projects. In my opinion they are the best because the owner hires great people and he is involved with every project as is his Outdoor Design Consultant.

The SBC team did a great job on our 16'x16' paver patio with a sitting wall. We were referred to SBC by a friend who was pleased with their work. Wendy called me right back and got me in touch with Al, who promptly provided me with a quote. Al quickly followed up with an adjusted quote after we decided to change-up the design. Pedro and his on-site team were awesome...they built a beautiful patio! And we even had Brad (the owner) come out to make a few minor adjustments in a section that was closest to our house. Their price was fair and the entire team was a pleasure to work with throughout the process. We'll definitely use SBC for future projects and will be recommending them to friends and family.

SBC scheduled with us right away to get us an estimate. I like that they could handle the hardscape and the transplanting of our mature azalea bush. We were originally told it could take 6 weeks to get scheduled but they fit us in early after a cancellation. They were done in 2 days, and the patio looks amazing. The job included replacing an existing patio and stone steps, and adding a sitting wall. Would work with them again!

We recently had a major patio project completed by SBC Outdoor Services and could not be happier about the quality of their work. It involved installing approximately 1,500 sf of porcelain tiles on the Alliance Gator Base System, plus large hill-side steps, drainage system and lighting package on the front and back yard. Brad Crist, the owner, has assembled a great team that diligently worked on our project until its completion. While every job of this size is expected to encounter some challenges along the way, the SBC team was very easy to work with in addressing all the items to our satisfaction. Despite being very busy with numerous projects, Brad himself took a very active role in managing our job. It is refreshing to see the owner being so closely involved and even available to talk in the evenings and weekends. We would also highlight SBC having an in-house designer that will not only help you create new space, but will actually create a set of computerized plans for the project team to follow. The end product was an incredible addition to our home, and it already became our favorite space for outdoor use. If you are looking for a mid to large size outdoor project, consider giving SBC a shot. You wonâ t be disappointed!

Amazing work! My patio is beautiful. It is above and beyond my expectations. They also left my yard in immaculate condition. I canâ t wait to entertain. I highly recommend contacting the sales rep, Kyle Johnson. He was very knowledgeable about what his companyâ s process is and confident in what they deliver. The owner even came out to check the site and worked alongside his employees. This speaks volumes about the kind of business this is.

I have seen and admired the work done by SBC Outdoor services for years. When my husband and I finally purchased our new home, we knew who we wanted to hire. Brad, the owner, personally came out and gave us very fair estimates for multiple projects we needed help with. All jobs were done in a timely manner, and the carpentry work turned out even better than we could have imagined. Would highly recommend SBC landscaping for any scope of work.

We wanted to replace two existing sidewalks and also tie them together with a new patio area. The design consultant that was assigned to our project went out of his way to ensure that we knew exactly what was involved and what we were getting for our money. The team of three laborers that did the job were quick, experienced, and went above and beyond what we expected when they finalized the project. The team that executed the rebuild of our roof deck was on time, professional, courteous (removing shoes before entering the house to go to the roof and we didn t even ask that of them), and the work was excellent quality. We are up there every nice day now enjoying the our deck.

Everyone at SBC was great. Mike was our initial contact and at our first meeting he listened carefully to what we were looking for, then came back with a design that was pretty much exactly what we had envisioned. After getting other quotes and a few months of revisions to bring the price down to meet our budget, we decided to go with SBC and couldn’t be happier with the result. Brad, the owner, and Steve, the project manager, were both very responsive and committed to making sure we were happy and that the quality of the work was up to their standards (and ours). Finally, the workers were awesome. They were very hard working and obviously proud of doing high quality work. That pride and work ethic definitely shows in the final result. Our new patio is beautiful and exactly what we were hoping for when we started planning to redo our patio. Total strangers driving by our house have stopped their cars to comment on how beautiful the patio is and ask who the contractor was. Honestly, we couldn’t be happier and would give them our highest recommendation without any reservation. There were a few hiccups along the way as would be expected with a project of this size but everyone at SBC was commited to doing everything they could to make it right and meet our expectations. In the end they hit the ball out of the park. I would give them 6 stars if I could.
