Fabulous experience! I've prepared my own taxes for years (TurboTax then TaxAct) so I wasn't sure I wanted a tax preparer but Retha Arens will be doing my returns from now on, period. I had to really talk myself into getting help with a work-from-home question I got conflicting advice about elsewhere. Retha is non-judgemental, meticulous, fair, and made the whole process painless for me. Once before I tried to get help, and ended up with a 10-page form to fill out and an interrogation session that just wasted my time and energy. Retha did need to ask some questions, of course, but not many, and there was no lengthy intake form and not a second of my time was wasted. She's my new tax whisperer. Her fees are very reasonable, and lucky me, I still came out way ahead of my own computations.

We've been using Retha Arens for several years to prepare our personal income tax returns, as well as those for a deceased family member's revocable trust  . She is always prompt and responsive, even when we've been delayed in getting our tax info to her. Her prices are reasonable and she is a pleasure to deal with. Our corporate taxes can be quite challenging as we actually have two companies operating independently of one another, a financial planning business and a syndicated national radio show. My wife and I are both principles of those companies yet we keep our income separate for tax purposes, It can be interesting at tax time.

On the personal side we have seven homes, four of which are rental properties. Additionally my lovely wife, who I adore, is not a detailed record keeper and Retha patiently finds herself coaching my bride each year to improve and progress in that area. Often the IRS feels like a big black box overcomplicated machine. Retha makes paying taxes feel remarkably human. She's kind, responsive, and patient. I had a complicated return and she went out of her way to accommodate me without charging me an arm and a leg.

Retha has been wonderful is helping us get my husbands taxes straightened out as he owns his own business.  My taxes are more traditional.  She is helping me learn how to be my husbands day to day business manager where as she is still doing his taxes.  We could not have gotten things in order without her.
