Excellent job from initial contact through final installation.  The saleswoman was extremely knowledgable about the product, with a detailed information package and certified sustainable forestry certificate.  
The thing that really won me over about these guys is that the foreman of the two-person installation team noticed a minor issue with radius of a tricky circular cut on one of the door treatments they were installing.  Rather than install it and wait to see if I noticed anything (and I might not have, frankly), he decided on the spot that it didn't meet the company standards, and went to the effort of calling it to my attention, even though I hadn't noticed the issue at all personally.  To me, that type of honestly -- coupled with the authority on the part of the installation team to fix something they feel isn't up to standards -- made me realize on the spot that we'd made the right call choosing these guys over the other offeror.

This company was great to work with - very responsive and always trying assist in any way they could.  An employee came out to give an estimate, and she wasn't sure there was enough room to do an inside mount.  When I mentioned that I really wanted to try to make the inside mount work,  the owner come by to take a look and remeasured.  He said it would be no problem and showed me how it would like.  The shutters look and work great.  They matched them to our trim color with no problem, and we are enjoying them very much.  I found their prices to be on par or slightly below other estimates I received, and you can't beat the service.   

Perfect Fit provided an accurate estimate.  The installation team was very professional; very courteous and friendly.  I would use them again and may do so soon.

Very pleased with the finished product (custom plantation shutters).  Installation went well.  We spoke with several companies, received several quotes, etc.  Perfect Fit was right about market price-wise.  We visited their showroom and picked out all the finishings, etc.  Very pleasant and helpful experience.  We would use them again (and plan to for other windows).
I give them a "B" because (1) the woman who came out to measure and confirm details was not the most pleasant person to deal with and (2) scheduling the installation was a bit of a challenge.  After no contact whatsoever for about a month, I called to check on the status.  Two or three days later I receive an email giving me an installation date a few days away.  I wrote back and said we couldn't do it that day, but gave them several alternative days that we could meet them for installation.  I also noted that we couldn't meet them there before 2:30pm on certain days.  I received a response that said, How about 10am (on the original day)?  They either didn't read my email or just didn't feel the need to take a customer's request seriously (unfortunately, based on the whole customer service aspect of working with them, I think it's the latter).  After some back and forth emails I was told that they only install in Northern Virginia on Thursdays, and that they prefer to do it in the mornings.  Interesting - as the customer I "prefer" to have work completed in a reasonable amount of time.  It's not like we live in Richmond - we're inside Beltway off of I-66.  Ultimately, they scheduled us for 2-3 weeks out on a Thursday, because again that's the only day they only work in Northern Virginia.
This whole scheduling thing is not a huge deal, but I expected a little bit more and made me feel like I was dealing with the cable company.  If you live in Northern Virginia, keep this in mind.

Excellent quality shutters. Custom matched shutter paint to the window wood trim color. These shutters are locally produced; customer service is attentive and professional. We used this company ten years ago. Those shutters still look like new. I would recommend this local company over larger firms because of the attention to detail and their concerted effort to build and maintain a local loyal customer base. Their prices are competitive with the larger companies.

Marie mentioned things I had not thought of for example: putting in shutters and opening one of them meant I would have to move a piece of furniture that is well situated. By putting in shutters that would take away too much of the lovely view. Both Karen and Marie were highly professional.

The shutters were ready before the estimated date, were installed in an afternoon, and the results are beautiful. The installers took extra care with a door that was not plumb, so that the shutters look perfect. All my interactions with this firm were extremely pleasant and very satisfactory. I could not be more pleased with the result.

Marie came to my home on a Saturday and brought with her samples of both the wood shutter product and faux wood shutter that they offer. She took the time to explain the benefits of both in terms of durability and aesthetic as well as recommended which louver width would likely work best in my home given the decor and size of the windows. We also discussed the benefits to a plantation shutter over a Venetian blind (which my husband and I were also considering purchasing as an alternative). She took measurements and provided me with a written estimate right then and there which was helpful! After taking time to consider the paint finish we wanted (white to match the window trim) and also budget the cost for the shutters we decided to move forward and I am so glad we did. The only think we did not like is that they asked for two credit cards when utilizing their payment plan option but couldn't really give a good reason when we asked why. We did not feel comfortable giving two credit card numbers out there when we were only using the one to pay for it and additionally the installation will not be scheduled until you've paid for most of the invoice anyway. It was just odd to us. Very minor compared to the overall experience! 
Although you can certainly find a cheaper alternative to covering your windows with plantation shutters, I believe that we got the best value for our money. I love the shutters every day and have had no issues with them. Even if down the road we have an issue the warranty is great and I believe Perfect Fit will stand behind their workmanship (both the product and the installation). I have the utmost confidence in our purchase and really think the shutters make a HUGE difference in the value and class of our home.

I bought a condo in Washington D.C. and was new to the area so relied on Angie's list for referrals.  I was so pleased with this company, prompt service, sound advice, and attention-to-detail.  The installation was prompt, efficient, and perfect!  I could not be happier.  I only wish every company I have worked with had the same work ethic and focus on customer service!

Their quote was the highest of them all and there was no negotiating. They were prompt and got here when they said they were going to be here. They explained everything very well. They told me that they had to fix a lot of things that other people had done wrong. I didn't really need to hear that. I decided not to go with them. I guess everything else was fine but their price was very high. I didn't like them talking about other companies that they had to do a lot of repairs. I just have a bad feeling  when companies come in and talk about another company; that they had to come in and straighten out a lot of the work. May be they did, I don't know. Again I'm not sure whether it's true or it's not true. I can't really say. That's one thing why I kind of backed off on that because I had the one that I'm using, who was the cheapest price, had nothing but good things to say about Perfect Fit.

We recently bought a new home and decided on a combination of plantation shutters/wood blinds. I was seeking multiple vendors, but stopped considering others when I dealt with Perfect Fit. We visited their showroom and the amount of personal service we received was outstanding. They really took the time to work with us and help us decide what would be the right window treatment for our home.
Once we placed with order for our window treatments, I was amazed at the speed with which they were able to deliver - installing everything the day after we moved in.

Contacted Marie of Perfect Fit after seeing shutters in a friend's house.  She came to my house to measure, show me samples give estimate.  She was extremely professional and knowledgeable. In discussing my options, she pointed out advantages and disadvantages of each product in regard to how they would be used in my family setting.  She brought up practical questions I never considered.  I loved that she knew so much about the qualilty and production of the shutters since I am big on supporting local small business owners, being one myself.  After being made confident about the quality of the product I was purchasing, she indicated it would be 4 to 6 weeks before getting my shutters and someone from the office would call to schedule installation.  A few days later, Rhea from Perfect Fit called to schedule.  She was also very courteous and professional and scheduled me for installation 2 weeks later.  I was jumping for joy!  Installation was a breeze with Isaah and his helper (again professional and courteous).  They were done in a much shorter period of time then I anticipated and absolutely no mess and they are PERFECT!  I have waited 20 years for shutters and plan to purchase for the rest of my house.  The price, though not cheap was competitive, and so worth the quality and level of professionalism exhibited by every employee of this company!  I so recommend Marie and Perfect Fit and love my thermalite shutters!

if they make faux wood shutters or something less expensive.  She was
not pleased with that question and offered, multiple times to finance

for a cheaper shutter.  Guess she lost our sale.

We had plantation shutters installed throughout our entire home.  My experience with them was outstanding.  The quality of their shutters is excellent.  They custom matched our paint.  I had also gotten a quote from another company for Hunter Douglas shutters.  Custom Fit was much cheaper and the quality was better in my opinion.  We had Norman Shutters in our last home and the quality is far superior to the Norman Shutters.  The turnaround time was quick.  It was 4 weeks from the estimate to install.  The installation was quick and they did a great job.  I highly recommend them.

We are very pleased with the shutters. The sales person arrived at our house and professionally explained how their shutters differed from the rest of the industry. We liked that they were made locally and they used American hardwood. She made some great suggestions as the windows are very tall with arches at the top. She had samples of each shutter size so we could get a real sense of what they would look like. When the shutters were finished the installers arrived on the scheduled day right on time. They quickly installed all five shutters. We were impressed with the quality of the installation. All screw holes were filled and painted so that nothing shows. The shutters fit perfectly and we couldn't be happier. We will definitely use Perfect Fit if we get additional shutters.
