KEN HUTTON RESTORATION

I had work done on the exterior of my home back in April 2013, a little over 2 years ago. When I had the job done, I hardly expected there to be any issues 2 years later. I expected the project to last well into the future. I am a little disappointed having paid over $2000 to fortify the exterior of my house and to have this occur. I replaced rotting wood on the door frame on my French door with PVC which I was told would last a very long time. I noticed that the PVC was separating from the frame of the house. I contacted the company through their representative back in February 2015. I was told : "I can have it addressed but need the weather to cooperate. It needs to be a consistent 55-60 degrees for the painting." I contacted the company recently to schedule the job, since temperatures have been consistently above 80 degrees but have not heard back.

It went very well!  Mr. Plaza contacted us quickly after we reached out for an estimate, and that responsiveness and attention to detail characterized the whole project.  Mr. Plaza's expert assessment and clear photos helped greatly in our communications with our insurance company.  The crew performing the teardown and installation was always punctual, diligent, and careful with our stuff.  And now it all looks fabulous!  We recommend them highly.

Replacing the shower floor was the only practical solution to the leaking.  Finding someone to do that, without remodeling the whole bathroom (that is a project for later because this is a rental house) was not easy.  Quality of work was excellent, and the cost was a fair price. 
Getting the job scheduled and then actually started was a challenge - the originally scheduled date was pushed back more than once and there was poor communication about when the exact date would be.  Once started, work was completed without delay.  Communication could have been better because I was not there every day to check on the progress - at the end of the job I was surprised to see that the sliding shower doors had not been put back.  This turned out to be quite acceptable, just a surprise.

Joe Plaza was very responsive.  The basement ceramic tile wasn't actually planned but my dog ate the carpet and got extremely sick to the point that I wanted the only remaining carpet in the house remove immediately.  His workers (who were very friendly) started on a Saturday and completed on Sunday.  They realized my concern and were willing to work all weekend.  This is impressive!!  The work was well done and any mess was all cleaned-up before they left.   

Likewise, the major job of removing the office from the master bedroom was huge.  It was completed on a timely basis and the hardwood flooring (where it met the hall hardwood flooring) matched perfectly.  Marco took great pains to ensure the color was perfect. 

I have a crazy schedule and they graciously worked with me to coordinate work before arrival of new furniture. 

The painting throughout the house was super!!  Two coats on ceiling, walls and woodwork is a major job.  I would definitely use Ken Hutton Restoration again and highly recommend them. 

They were excellent. They went beyond the normal. We had like a major rain storm with trees down and all kinds of stuff and they cleared it all out. They did some other extra stuff they didn't really have to, so they were just very good.

The work was done quite acceptably. Install new tile flooring, wall-paper, vanity and toilet. The work was doen by at least 3 different crews. My only complaint was that there were frequent lags in between the appearance of the different crews, and there was a lack of communication as to when each crew was going to appear.

Joe, the owner, was a very good person to work with.  I believe he is very honest, follows through with his commitments and has fair pricing.  He uses a combination of dedicated employees and some long time sub-contractors.  This was my first experience with significant repair work or renovations, but believe that the number of delays, issues etc were minimal.  Ken Hutton Restoration helped get our house back together, and frankly better than before (fresh paint does wonders).  Joe is a very reasonable and hard working guy as is his whole team, and would recommend them.  I found the quality of the work to be very good, and my only reservation is around highly detailed finish carpentry--they had to redo some dental moulding and trim work--but they did redo it to my satisfaction and without any complaint--they really do want you to be pleased with their work.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was fine. It wasn't perfect but not bad. I would call it good. I probably would use them again.

Communication and coordination was difficult at times.  They were prompt on providing an estimate, but regarding the work being performed it wasn’t coordinated very well.  The quality of the work overall was good.

It was fabulous.  From start to finish, the work was done to perfection.  They were efficient, tidy and extremely pleasant.  The entire experience was a pleasure.

This contractor is very professional. Initially, it took a little while to get a quote and schedule the work, but once the work was scheduled, they came every day at 8 AM and did everything we discussed. They were very careful to disturb our life as little as possible, taping off the rooms they worked in to minimize dust, and cleaning up every day. They were also very responsive to additional requests.
Overall, they did a great job. Our living room and dining room look much nicer. I already have another project in mind that I will use them for.

Joe is great to work with and his team of workers are very professional and friendly. They did a great job. I will use them again.

Our small bathroom had a toilet leak.  We needed to replace the wooden floor.  We choose Ken Hutton Restoration after speaking with several contractors.  We arranged a time to schedule the work.  Ken Hutton Restoration arrived at the scheduled time and ripped up the flooring and placed down tile.  The contracting staff was professional, courteous and did a good job.  I would recommend Ken Hutton Restoration for future work.

Our insurance company suggested Ken Hutton. He did reasonably good quality workm but his communication was lacking. He didn't keep us informed and was not good at returning our emails or phonecalls.

We did expect some delays in the rennovation since he had to order new kitchen cabinets but the work did take longer than we expected.

Exceptionally well.

Joe Plaza, while hard to reach at times, was very professional and stood by his (and his men's) work.  Some hand holding and reminders were needed, but he and his workers/subcontractors were a good group to work with (unlike other contractors!).  We are very pleased with how our basement was transformed and even had the company do some additional work afterward.

They completely remodeled my bathroom; marble in both my homes. They used faux marble and real marble. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this company. Politeness, integrity and honesty are vital with this company. They recognized a mistake and fixed it free of charge. I will continue business with them!

They did a good job. Their price was reasonable.

Took some time but personnel were friendly and professional and I would refer them to anyone looking for quality work.

The estimator, Joe P., was very clear about how the work needed to proceed: open up the ceiling, determine whether or not the water leak had been stopped (I thought it was from some bad caulk in the bathroom above, which my husband had by that time replaced), then if there was still a leak, find the source of the water, repair it, etc. Also any mold above the ceiling needed to be excised or chemically treated. In other words, the scope of the work was somewhat "iffy," depending on what was found above the ceiling. The work was scheduled within a weeks' time. The serviceman, Mark, was right on time, very careful to cover all my furniture and not bang equipment into walls. When Mark opened the ceiling, he discovered a very slow leak (about 1 drip per 5 minutes). At this point he referred me to a plumber. The plumber found the source of the leak, fixed it that same afternoon, and Mark returned afterwards to patch up the drywall and repaint it.

I can't say enough good things about this company. From my first contact with the receptionist to the completion of the job, they were professional and responsive in every way.

Ken Hutton provided an estimate and stuck with it with no surprises. The workers, carpenter, painter, tile setters, were all experienced who provided an excellent final product. The scheduling was also excellent but I had to interrupt the process. The company was considerate of my needs. They were timely and reported for work as scheduled. I have hired the company again for another very small job, and will not hesitate to call upon them again.

Very professional. Worked directly with my insurance carrier to reduce my effort to get the insurance to pay for repairs. Always punctual and very professional. Work was performed to highest quality. When an issue came up they made it right the first time. Made excellent recommendations as to what needed to be done and then helped convince insurance company to reimburse us.
