Attention to details is not a strength here! June makes many mistakes.
I originally went to see June and asked if she could get me a certain fabric from GP & J Baker that I LOVE. She said YES for $60.00 a yrd. This was on December 1st. I needed 20 yards to recover a sofa. June came up with the 20 yard estimate without seeing the sofa. She wouldn't come to the house to measure.  I brought in measurements to her in the shop.  I brought in the memo sample of fabric, which she didn't look at thoroughly - it has a very large repeat of 40".   I gave her a 50% deposit on the fabric.
Two days later, on December 3rd,  June is calling, all in a panic!!  She says that Kravat has charged her account some astronomical amount for the fabric. It's way more than she had quoted me . . . .   so now the price is $109.00 per yard. I tell her I'm not getting 20 yrds of fabric at $109.00 per and that we will have to cancel the order.  When she tries to run my VISA card thru the machine for a refund, her account doesn't have $1,000.00 in it !  THIS IS A CONCERN.  Where is your working capital??  She asks if I will come back the next day when she has more money in her account. THIS IS BAD.
I go home and see an old chair that needs refinished and recovering - I have an idea!  Let's use the expensive fabric that I love on the chair!!  YES.  Using less fabric is the answer. I load up the chair in my car and take it over to June. 5.5 yards is what we need. Great.  So, she doesn't have to refund me anything  - which she can't.  I will get my fabric on a lovely chair.
Since the fabric has such a large repeat, I ask her to call me the minute the fabric comes in, so that we can figure out what part of the pattern to place on the chair. June says yes. She says it will take one week to arrive. I call on Dec. 10th - June says no fabric has arrived, I remind her not to cut it till I'm there.  I call on Dec. 16th, she says no fabric. I say don't cut it till I'm there.
It's Friday the 18th. at 5:00 I call and June tells me it's cut and her husband is working quickly to finish before Christmas.
W**???
Are you kidding me??  Did you not write down that I want to be there before anything is cut????????
Tomorrow I'm going over to see what's going on. This is stressful, and could have been avoided IF SHE WROTE IT DOWN.

They were good. They did a couple of cushions for me. It was reasonable. When I went in there they took me right away. They were very nice about it. They promised me that I would get it back [unclear 15:51] and I did.

On Monday, January 5th, 2015, I contacted the provider by email requesting an estimate for the office chair. I did not hear back from them until Monday, January 12th after calling numerous times to get a response. I was told that the labor charge would be $150.00 plus 2 yards of material. On Monday, January 19th I let the provider know that the material for the chair was being sent directly to her from the manufacturer and that either my son or a friend would be bringing the chair to their shop. I also inquired about payment and was told that work won the chair would commence once they received a 50% deposit. I had my credit union send them a check for $75.00 and the chair was delivered to them on Friday, January 23. On Tuesday, February 3, 2015, I sent the provider another email requesting information regarding their receipt of the chair. I never received a response to that email. I sent another email on Friday, February 13th asking for an update. Again, I never received a response. Sometime during the following week I actually called the provider. I was told at that time that the provider's worker, who had over 30 years experience had taken my chair apart and that he couldn't put it back together! I was then told that they would try to see what they could do with the chair and she would call me back.

During this time I was out of the area on personal business. I came back to Maryland on March 8th, 2015. I waited until Monday, March 16th to contact the provider. I then went to their shop in lieu of phoning. I was told again by the provider that they were trying to "fix" my chair but if that wasn't possible, could they give me another chair covered in the material that I provided. At this time it seemed apparent that I was not going to get my chair so I agreed to accept the chair being offered as a replacement. It was similar to my chair but was much heavier and not a swivel base nor on casters. I was told by the provider the chair would be ready by the end of the week. I called them that Wednesday to get this info. On Saturday, March 21, I called the provider who then told me that the chair was ready to be picked up. When I arrived I was told that the price was now $193.00. I was in shock which is why I guess I didn't say anything. Then I was given the bill which did not reflect the $75.00 deposit that I had sent. The provider found my payment, applied it to the chair, I paid the difference and left with the chair.

The provider substituting another chair would not have been an option if I had known that it was going to cost me more money. The workmanship on the "replacement" chair is fine. This experience was a nightmare.

They were originally going to use the arm covers to repair a tear in the seat, but there was not enough fabric. June called & suggested I come in to select a solid fabric to put on the back, so she could use the fabric from the back to reupholster the seat. It turned out perfectly, and the cost was very reasonable. Highly recommended!

I received knowledgeable help in choosing fabric from June and her assistant.  They were very careful loading it into my car.  The pattern was matched beautifully and the chair is now a focal point of the living room.  June also made arm covers from the same material to protect it from extra wear.  I had two estimates and picked J&C because I liked the fabric better.  The arm covers took a while to get because they didn't call me when they were done, but I don't regard that as a big issue.  (They did call when the chair was ready.)  From what I saw of the work going on in this shop, it is excellent.  I would use it again.

The sofa was a family heirloom, and the other pieces were purchased around 20 years earlier.  All had  sun damage,  cat shredded upholstery, spills and all other mishaps of 20 years of pets and children.  The work was long overdue.  My wife had researched fabric and had definite ideas about how the pieces should look, individually and as a collection. We visited a couple of other upholsterers, that were well rated on Angie's and found the process of choosing (let alone finding) fabric  very confusing, We were frustrated by getting less attention to educating the customer than seemed to be necessary.  The toile fabric that my wife wanted appeared difficult for these upholsterers to find and their prices, even with their stated discounts, were discouraging.  She went online and located these fabrics, printed out samples with specs, and was prepared to order from them.  The customer ratings of these sites did not encourage my confidence, however, so I suggested we take our printouts to the next company on my list, which was J & C.
June greeted us and worked hand in glove with us on finding either the fabrics we had found online or very similar.   She gave us much better initial prices than the other companies we had talked to, and was able to locate high quality fabrics at very good prices.  Her yardage estimates were all smaller than her competitors, and her delivery estimates were all accurate.  The longest wait was two weeks for the sofa fabric, but June had prepared us for that probability.  Jay and his crew picked up the pieces did all of the work and delivered it back well within their two week estimate. Both of us were absolutely stunned by the amazing level of craftsmanship (and beauty) of the finished products.  Not only were the fabric patterns matched across the pieces, but the pillows all had the same scene in the same positions. all of the fabric to frame / wood trim connections (not the right word) were flawless and invisible, Jay used double piping at the fabric to wood trim border, and in places that are impossible to see how anyone could  manage to do it.  In addition, when the sofa and wing chair left, both were wobbling in places.  When they came back, they were as solid as single pieces of wood. They polished all of the wood surfaces and all pieces look brand new.
They kept to their time and cost estimates that they gave us, although they went above and beyond in terms of our expectations. June's knowledge of materials and suppliers was key and our experience was absolutely first rate.  We intend to use J & C again very soon.  In fact, once the furniture was done, my wife decided she needed to get thick clear vinyl to cover the pieces when we had leave the pets to their own devices.  June found us 20 yards of top notch material that I recognized as the type used by boat canvas makers, at an extraordinary price.
It is great to find people who know what they are doing, work hard for their customers and stick to their word.  J & C Interiors certainly does all of these very well.  I recommend them without qualification.

Outstanding!  The cushions and bar stools are absolutely perfect!  June Kim was very patient and helpful throughout the process.  She had no problem with my ordering fabric for the cushions and pillows when I found that I could get a better price for the fabric online than she was able to get through the fabric manufacturer.  She took detailed notes on what I wanted to have done and which fabrics I wanted to use for each piece of furniture and for each of the pillows. The pattern matching on the cushions and the pillows was perfect.  The bar stools look beautiful, too!
The price was reasonable and the work was done in good time.  We'd definitely use J&C again.

Wonderful store, wonderful proprietors.  Not glitz: real value for work well done.  They have been there 20 years and there are lots of end-bolt fabrics to choose from.  Take the time to look around and you'll find some bargains.

They do excellent work. They want their customers to be absolutely satisfied, and they stand behind what they do. A quick note, the owner speaks fluent English, but some of her employees her do not. That being said, I think any issue with communication is well worth the quality of their work.

This is the second time I have used J & C Interiors. Several months ago I had them upholster a headboard for me. Both times I have used them I have been extremely pleased. They are very professional. They stick to their estimate. They finished both projects ahead of the scheduled time. Most importantly, the finished product in both cases looks amazing. I will be using them a lot in the future.

I've been using them for at least ten years and I've always had very good luck with them. The estimate was right on and I was very pleased. They were very good. They pick up and deliver. I think it is a family-run business and she is very nice. I think their prices are as good as you can get for the quality of the work. They are incredibly easy to work with.

We had two old old leather armchairs which had a lot of detailing: a lot of decorative wood trim, nail head trim, buttons, topstitching. Because of our pets, we did not want to spend a fortune having these chairs redone in real leather, so we opted for a mid-quality faux leather. Still, we were somewhat nervous about our choice because we were afraid it would look cheap. We shouldn't have worried. J & C Interiors did such a wonderful job reproducing all of the original detailing, including topstitching, that these old chairs really look top notch. We are very happy with the result and highly recommend J & C.

Well. Most of my furniture was picked up and delivered with no problems. The work was done a few years ago, there could be a charge now for delivery and pickup because of gas prices, which is understandable.

This chair had been in my daughter-in-laws family and was in pretty bad shape. We were told it needed coil and structural work. I received three estimates. All were at $800 or more. June came out to see the chair, gave an estimate of $425, ( price included a new cushion and touch up of the legs.) She did not charge for the frame repair. Pick up and delivery was prompt and the work was finished in two weeks. The chair looks like new.
