I have trusted Eric with my car for the past 4 years. He has never recommended service I did not need and frequently found problems I was unaware of. This time he heard the alternator overworking and found the battery was only holding 1/2 the charge it should have. Alternator is ok, the battery (I looked it up - over 6 years old) was due for replacement. To troubleshoot the shifting problem I described, after finding the transmission fluid level was full as it should be, he drove the car to feel/hear for himself what I was describing and how it was shifting gears. He noticed a series of hesitations that I had not, checked the plug leads, and found they were as old as the car ( 13 years old). Although they looked fine, they were the cause of the shifting problem, not the transmission. So all I needed was a tune up - new spark plugs and leads - not a new transmission. As for the battery catch - that saved me from probably getting stuck at work 25 miles from home with a dead battery because there was no warning for me that the battery was at end-of-life. Eric is the most honest car mechanic I have ever dealt with. He talks to me (76 year-old woman) with respect for my intelligence, shows me what I need to see when the car is on the lift, advises solutions that make sense financially for me, depending on how long I plan to keep the car. I will never take my car anywhere else.

Great prices, honest, and great at diagnosing and fixing the problem the first time. Highly recommend. I never have considered any other person once I found him.

As usual, working with Eric and Kristyn makes a generally unpleasant experience (who really enjoys getting their car repaired?) tolerable. My wife and I took our cars to them for many years when they were based in Montgomery Village. We were incredibly disappointed when we discovered that the garage had been sold to a chain outfit that quickly lost the friendly, helpful vibe that Eric and Kristyn engendered, and as soon as we found out they had opened a new shop we promptly took our business to EPR.
Finding a good mechanic is not easy, and I wouldn't dream of taking my cars anywhere else. They take time to explain things, and don't automatically recommend a particular service just because the car hits a certain mileage. They look at what the car needs and indicate what's actually necessary. Kristyn, who runs the front desk, is a delight to work with, thanks to her incredibly upbeat and friendly personality.
Not only do you walk out feeling like you've gotten honest advice, but they stand behind their work. Eric is helping to keep our 11 year-old Subaru on the road, and he recently replaced the exhaust system, which had completely rusted out. Afterwards, it didn't sound quite right, so I took it back and Eric discovered that the weld between the new exhaust and the old had a small hole, so he fixed it free of charge, no questions asked. Bottom line, don't think twice about coming here - you won't be disappointed.

This company was recommended by Shannon Autobody, a very reputable shop in Gaithersburg. I wanted an honest mechanic who would not and quot;gouge me.and quot; I had had a dealer estimate that was exhorbitant. Eric checked the car and looked at all items being recommended. He showed me exactly what was wrong and what was not. He performed the work very well. I have already given him other recommendations. He deserves the work. By the way, the waiting room is very clean, neat, air conditioned. There is wifi and electrical outlets. McDonald's is within walking distance! I'm very glad that I used EPR automotive.
