We hired Crown to build railings for both our upstairs and downstairs staircase in our split level home. What made the experience with Crown so wonderful was that we had hired a handy man to do the job prior to hiring Crown. The handyman had no business attempting to build what we were looking for. Not only was Crowns' work outstanding, but the repairs that they did of the previous handyman's bundlers were corrected. All in all, two days of work remedied 6 days of handyman h***. After the work was completed, two managers from Crown came to inspect the work to ensure the work was done correctly and was pleasing to the eye. I would hold no reservations to recommeding Crown again and again.

The experience of working Crown Stair and Rail was the worst experience I have ever had with a vendor. Bill was my original contact for the job. I was promised a time line of 3 days, which turned into over a month. Bill was unprofessional, confrontational, incompetent, threatening, unresponsive, and rude. Hands down the worst customer service experience I have EVER had!

"I would like to respond simply and briefly to this post by the customer. First, He was not the original customer on this project, he stepped in to an overseeing role to the project after the project was initiated by someone else and contracted by that other person. Second, there was never a promise of only three days to the customer because the initial timeline was never personally discussed with the customer. After that- the rest becomes personal opinions and OBVIOUSLY the customer and Bill did not see eye to eye on certain details. Even after noticing a problem occurring on the job we (Crown Stairs) took care of addressing it and resolving it, at the highest level of quality even with a loss of money out of our own pocket. As noted in the customer’s response –the job WAS COMPLETED and at a high standard of excellence, which all involved agreed verbally -was a very beautiful and an uncompromising rail system. We will have to agree to disagree on the personal attacks on Bill and his customer services skills because he has been in customer service oriented role for over ten years in Crown Stairs & Rails. I would have had to fire the guy that the customer describes a long time ago if it were as he describes. Also just as an aside, we have gotten referrals to other work from this job through the designer, who was directly and personally involved with the job from beginning to end."

This is a high-end company which installs beautiful railings that are meticulously installed to prevent any wobbling. They are a bit expensive but the quality of installation they provide makes it worth the expense. We did have some trouble getting pricing from them because we were evaluating several different options. It was obvious they wanted to give us one quote instead of one for each option we were looking at. That was not the kind of customer service I would expect from a high-end company. The final product looks gorgeous.
