This move far exceeded my high expectations. The estimate was a reasonable price, especially compared to another local moving company. The packers and movers showed up on time; were courteous, professional, cheerful, and very careful; and worked hard throughout the move. We have several fragile, valuable antiques, and these, along with all our other items, arrived without damage. Communication was good and helpful - I would use them again gladly.

Commonwealth is the only moving company you should ever consider. We were very happy we chose to move with Commonwealth, who made our move less stressful. Everyone in this company including Kevin, the owner, Faith, the admin. ***'t., Roy, Julio, Oscar, Joel and the rest of the crew performs with integrity. They were timely, courteous, careful (nothing damaged or lost), honest, reliable, responsible, careful and consummate professionals. We were glad we had them pack for us and their estimate was accurate. They handled everything (including hanging and rehanging lighting fixtures and artwork) and we could not be more pleased or recommend them highly enough.

I just completed my 5th move since 1994 by Commonwealth Movers and I couldn’t be more pleased to provide them the highest, most enthusiastic reference possible. I would give them 100 stars if I could and would never even consider using any other movers. The first of my four moves were around suburban MD, from Silver Spring, to Chevy Chase, to Potomac and Columbia, and the most recent was to Connecticut. Commonwealth’s high-quality service begins with its leadership, sales manager Mike Corrado. Mike’s estimates are always fair and honest with no hidden or last minute add-ons. Mike has a calming and reassuring nature which is most welcome during these stressful times. Ditto for the very efficient and organized office manager, Faith. Commonwealth’s moving crews have been consistently professional, reliable, trustworthy, speedy and not one thing has EVER been broken or scratched in five moves (this last one with 7,000 lbs. of precious cargo from a 2,300 sq ft, 3-bedroom house). Now I know you would expect all those things from any mover, but I can attest to the fact that you will get all that and more from Commonwealth. In addition, you will get a very warm, friendly and efficient crew that works together in a practiced synchrony that is impressive, even enjoyable to watch. They will go to any length to make sure you are happy on both ends of your move. Five men showed up for the packing and they were in and out of my house within a few hours allowing me ample time to drive to my new home in CT. On the delivery end the next day, there were only two, but they did the work of five in record time. Xavier and Miguel didn’t stop moving for one moment, even after a six-hour drive. They made carrying nearly 100 boxes and my heavy furniture up one-two flights of stairs look like a walk in the park, never once bumping into a wall or anything of the sort. They remained friendly and accommodating throughout. The even focused on seemingly little but important things to me, like making sure my rugs were put down straight without out bunched-up pads underneath and lifting up my king-sized mattress not once but twice, to rotate it for me and then to put on the bed skirt which I forgot about! I couldn’t have asked for anything more from these wonderful movers and I highly recommend them if you are moving. Trust me, you will be happy you did.

Javier and his crew arrived right on the scheduled time. Since we were ready for the crew, they went right to work. Wrapped each item in a moving blanket and then plastic wrapped. Loaded the truck, drove to the new location and unloaded as quickly as possible. They placed each item where we wanted it, carefully unwrapped it, and carried away the wrappings. The crew was friendly and very professional. I was quoted an hourly price with an estimated amount of hours needed to complete the job. Because the crew worked quickly, the hours needed were less than the estimate. So the bill was less than expected. I would hire them again!

Javier and his crew arrived on time, carefully packed and loaded my entire home in 5 1/2 hours (I did do a good amount of clearing out and organizing ahead of time). They showed up at our requested time on delivery day, unloaded and placed all the furniture, and unpacked as requested. They really went the extra mile not just to get things out of boxes, but to place them in locations that made sense. Everyone was courteous and efficient. No one enjoys moving, but this crew made it as easy as possible. I would recommend them without hesitation. They even allowed me to place my charges on my credit card.

I recently used Commonwealth Movers to move from Fairfax, VA to South Carolina. I had never done a major interstate move before and I was especially concerned that some very valuable family heirlooms and delicate antique furniture arrive without any damage. I chose Commonwealth based on their high percentage of good reviews on several sites and consumer sources. I had an extremely positive experience from the initial inquiry and estimate to the final move. My stress and concern quickly subsided once the packers came to my house and I saw that they knew what they were doing and that they were treating my possessions with care. The team that I had to pack, drive to South Carolina and unpack were exceptional. Everything was packed well and arrived safely. My team lead, Leonel, listened carefully to everything I said and put everything exactly where it was to go in the new house. I noticed the camaraderie of the team which showed that they were happy and worked well together which resulted in good work. The owner took an active concern in the planning and execution of the move even visiting my house during the packing process. I am extremely happy that I chose Commonwealth Movers and I highly recommend them.

The move was exceptionally easy and stress-free with Commonwealth movers! I am so grateful to Faith for helping us book the move and order the appropriate size truck, number of movers on the day of the move, and the number of wardrobe boxes that we needed that day. Also, thank you to Javier and his team for moving our stuff quickly and without any damages. He even put down mats and blankets on the floor so as not to damage our new hardwood floors. I would absolutely, hands-down hire this company again!

Pick up was the 23rd of May last year and delivery was about a couple weeks later. They were very, very good. The price was very good too, give them the max on that. We researched it before we had it done. There were cheaper firms, but they didn’t look all that trustworthy. This was one of the top firms. I think they were very good for price. “A’s” across the board!

Commonwealth Movers was able to handle my situation without any problems and quoted me a very good price. They showed up on time for both the pick-up and delivery, and their crew was phenomenal. Luis, the team leader, and the rest of the crew were very professional, polite, and friendly. They were very careful disassembling furniture and wrapping everything. And not only were they able to move everything out and in without a single scratch to a wall, floor or railing (which was amazing considering some of the large and heavy pieces), they also did it faster than the estimated time, so it ended up costing less than the original quote, which is almost unheard of and very pleasant surprise. These guys really work hard and made the process as painless as possible. Everything was delivered in original condition and they will place things exactly the way you want. I can't say enough how pleased and impressed I was with Commonwealth Movers. I chose them because of the great reviews they had and now I see why they got them. Moving is such a stressful experience, so it was nice that Commonwealth made it a little easier by making the move itself pain-free.

WOW! This is the first time I've used professional movers. I've heard all the horror stories. But Commonwealth Movers was Fantastic! Oscar & his crew arrived a little early to my house. They quickly & efficiently loaded the truck, carefully wrapping furniture & any fragile items. Before we knew it, they were on the way to Frederick. Not only did they unload the truck & carry boxes & furniture into the designated rooms, they took the time to unpack & assemble some furniture that I had ordered from Wayfair. Oscar & his crew were accommodating & courteous. I highly recommend Commonwealth Movers.

What a great experience! Commonwealth was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. From the professionalism of the sales manager who came to give us a quote to the moving crew who did such a fantastic job for us on moving day--they were just outstanding. It was a typically hot and humid Maryland day on moving day but this was nothing for the 5 men, led by the crew chief Julio. They were friendly, professional, extremely efficient, fast, hard-working and very, very careful. As soon as they came in they rolled out plastic sheeting to protect our rugs (this was done in the house we moved into as well). We were so impressed with their speed and strength. We had some very heavy pieces including a piano in our basement that had to be moved around a tight turn and up a flight of stairs. Not one scratch on the walls! In fact, we found absolutely no marks or scratches from the move in either house. We had a ton of furniture and over 150 boxes that were moved and this speaks volumes about just how superior this moving company was for us. The men asked us where we wanted each piece and put it precisely where we wanted it, then later asked us to do a walk-through and they'd be happy to adjust. Because of their high efficiency and our good packing the job actually came in under the estimated time and saved us some money. Highly recommend them. The last thing you want to worry about on moving day is whether your moving company will be on time and good. With Commonwealth we didn't have to worry at all. We truly felt this move could not have gone better. Wish they could unpack us!!!

The movers were great! The guys moved very quickly, carrying several boxes at a time. There were A LOT of stairs, and they handled our furniture well up and down the stairs. So far, nothing has been found broken. We had several boxes that were fragile and they made it just fine.
They were about 30 minutes late to our condo, not a big deal as they were coming from Gaithersburg. I would have appreciated a confirmation phone call or email that they were on their way, but running late. I will definitely use Commonwealth movers when we move again.

The crew of four were very professional and had great attention to detail. They had me review all that I was moving, this included noting what was not being moved. I had a few antique pieces that I was nervous about. They reviewed each piece before they moved it so it was noted what scratches already existed. They wrapped them very well, no damages to them. I don't think one wall was marked at either house. We had to use 2 doors at the new house as the one stairwell was too narrow to have furniture on it. They organized the 2 trucks by which level the furniture and boxes were going - so well organized, I was amazed that they took the time to do this and do it right. I had forgotten to remove a bed skirt, they didn't even mention it, just folded it up AND put it back on the bed at the new house - very thoughtful. They took the time to place the furniture exactly where I wanted it. All but a few boxes were in the correct rooms. The only damage we had was a small scratch on our leather sofa - they had someone out to repair it within a week - and it was repaired extremely well. My questions before the move were always answered in a timely way over email. They arrived on time, then the move was exactly as estimated. They crew worked very hard and since it was a close move, didn't get much time to take a break.

Things could not have gone better. Mr. Corrado came to our home in Silver Spring and provided us with a cost estimate. We compared Commonwealth Movers' price to those from other moving companies and found it to be lowest by far. We arranged for our items to be picked up from our home in Silver Spring on Thursday, April 30, 2015 and to be delivered to an apartment in Asheville, NC on Saturday, May 2, 2015. The movers (four gentlemen) arrived at our home in Silver Spring early and did an outstanding job loading boxes, cartons, crates and furniture onto their truck. They were so skilled and so professional! Two of the gentlemen who loaded the boxes arrived at the Asheville apartment (also early!) on May 2, 2015 and unloaded everything. I was afraid things would not fit into the apartment - too much stuff. Xavier is incredibly knowledgeable about everything - he eyed each room and knew which items would fit best in which locations. Everything arrived just fine and was unloaded professionally. I give Commonwealth Movers the highest of recommendations based on my very positive experience. Wonderful, responsive staff. Fair price. Excellent job.

Where do I begin describing the amazing move afforded us by Commonwealth Movers. Our experience began with a visit from Mike Corrado who explained, in detail, every aspect of our move. This was expected to be a very difficult move for us for my husband is not well and that is the reason we decided to move from a three level home into a one level condominium. I was extremely apprehensive about the entire process. We had interviewed the mover who previously had moved us five times but , because this move was so atypical in so many regards especially because of my husband's health and the need to understand his requirements and demands , I was hesitant to enlist their services for it seemed they would only adhere to a cut and dry way of making the move as had been done in the past but this required a great deal more . We spoke with Mike and all my fears dissipated and we followed our gut feelings and went with Commonwealth Movers.This was , without a doubt , the best decision we have ever made. The move was undertaken , by Commonwealth, with our needs first and foremost. A plan for the move was given us with the understanding we could change the schedule anytime and that they would work around our schedule and needs especially as my husband's health was concerned. The move was staged in phases to diminish our stress levels . In fact it was broken down into six days toward the end of the week of the scheduled move. A day to help my husband pack his office with two men helping. A day to wrap all of our very old and valuable antiques and portraits. A day to load the truck and the following day to move everything from Gaithersburg into Timonium.
After the move into Timonium , we were given a respite and time to evaluate what we might yet want to be moved into the condo and then a day was set to move what was not moved into the condo to our daughter's house in Towson , near our condo, and then the rest into a 10x35 storage unit in Towson as well.
Needless to say , this took immense planning on Mike's behalf and tremendous cooperation by the amazing team of men, four in total and led by a terrific man named Lionel , who handled the wrapping, packing, moving and unpacking. To say we were pleased is not saying enough. To say we were amazed by the quality of care and concern always at the forefront of everyone's interaction with us, is to say too little.
If I could I would spread the word in every possible way to encourage people to use Commonwealth Movers for any and every move they may undertake. I know we will . I know my children will be encouraged to use them and I am trying my best to tell anyone and everyone how wonderful they are and that the move I so dreaded turned out to be one of the best experiences of our lives to date and my husband and I , at 73, have had many experiences .

Commonwealth Movers of Gaithersburg, Md., was at my Alexandria, Va., house by 9:15 a.m. and the three-man crew loaded, transported and unloaded the contents of my small two-bedroom Old Town house to a new residence within four hours, which was the contract estimate. Most of the contents already were packed in boxes when the crew arrived and they loaded the truck in about 75 minutes. No items were broken in the move and the crew was fast and professional. I would recommend the company and again would do business with them. The company's coordinator was able to accommodate my last-minute request within five days of my planned move. This was the most satisfying move I have undertaken. Take a bow, Commonwealth Movers.

We definitely use them again and we recommended them to several people including our boss. He was very happy with them as well. We're planning to use them again for another household. Everything they've moved so far hasn't been broken. They did really nice. They come in with a bunch of people. They pack very quickly and they're extremely careful of not damaging anything. Their price is the same as the others.

They were amazing. They came on time and were very careful with all of my things. I received an on site estimate about a month before moving and when we were all done the actual cost came in lower because they were so fast that they finished about 1.5 hours earlier than anticipated.
