Nov 2015
2015 was the fifth year we contracted with Champion Landscaping. The first 2 years we were very happy with the service. In the fall of 2012 the company was sold to existing employees and the person we had normally been in contact with was no longer the owner. We did use the "new" company to provide some major landscaping to the back & side of our house in the spring of 2013. The work was performed well.
Problems started in 2014 - it was hard getting in touch with Courtney. Calls, emails were not returned. The work performed was sub par. When I questioned Courtney about this I was told that they were going through some growing pains but that they had worked hard to get everything under control. They had hired new people and the service in 2015 would be so much better. I was willing to give them another chance as I know it is hard to get a small business up and running so I went ahead and contracted with the company and paid our yearly amount. Not much happened as it was supposed to. The spring clean-up was almost non-existent. The person who came out to weed - sprayed the weeds and three days later they were all still there. When I contacted Courtney about it they came back out and pulled up the weeds leaving the roots to most of them. Next I received an email from Courtney that the annuals we had ordered were in & they would be out to plant them soon. They came out and planted the wrong plants. Courtney called and said they would be back out to plant the correct ones. Two weeks later we did not have our correct annuals so I sent an email to Courtney to let her know that we were dissatisfied with Champion's service - nothing had improved. I asked for a refund on the yearly services they had not yet provided. About a month later I heard from Courtney that she was putting in the paperwork to refund us. We never received a check so we started proceedings in small claims court for breach of contract. Our court date was set for October 22nd. We received a check from Courtney on October 17 - the check was dated July 10 with a "void after 90 days" comment and postmarked on October 14. Once the money showed up in our account I file a Motion to Dismiss the court case.

The best job I've ever had for such a cleanup and some trimming of bushes and trees. The two fellows were meticulous in their work and did a beautiful job in both trimming and cleaning up. Very impressive.

Mistakes are our best eduction. We had this conversation and, as a new business, I anticipate that some things that did not work out on our job will not be repeated with others. It was good to see them conscientious enough to want to learn from this experience, make sure that I was content with the resolution and move on to have a successful business. Their personnel are pleasant to work with.

Great company!! Their work met my needs to a and quot;Tand quot; and the price was very reasonable. Any time I called for additional work, they responded immediately and performed all requested work. This is the third landscaping company I have had in two years and by far the most responsice, with the best price.
