We’ve worked with various contractors in the past on numerous house projects, but AC Remodeling is by far the BEST — by a long shot. We decided to hire Alex and his team to renovate our 1600-sq basement because their price seemed the most reasonable, they presented us a transparent process with thorough details, and they just seemed to be lovely and honest people. It turned out that we were absolutely right. Turning a 1600-sq basement (half of which was unfinished) into a full-blown finished apartment with a full kitchen, 2 living areas, a storage & laundry room, and a master bedroom with a master bath is no small task. They were literally building from nothing for the most parts. The process inevitably presented obstacles just like all other renovation projects. But, wow, AC handled everything so well that each step along the way they never failed to impress us! Not to mention their great attention to details. Alex always provided us with his honest opinion and thoughtful suggestions while also respected ours. Alex also came every day throughout the entire process and provided us with update on progress. Carolina provided us with design ideas and she is just so wonderful to work with. So is Melissa. We enjoyed going shopping and selecting kitchen and bathroom stuff, etc. with them all. Their crew is also awesome. Actually the best! They are such polite and friendly people, and definitely SOLID workers. They worked together very well and so joyfully - always with positive attitude. For the two months they were here, we enjoyed seeing them every day, chatting with them about progress, and just seeing them work! We were in no rush to get them out of the house simply because they were just so wonderful to have. At the end of the project, we felt Alex and his family have become such good friends of ours. We highly recommend AC with no reservations. In fact we are talking about future projects with them already. They have no doubt earned our trust and delivered amazing work just as they promised. We are so grateful that we had this opportunity to work together and looking forward to more in the future!

AC Remodeling recreated my kitchen down to the studs. They did an unbelievably beautiful job, paying attention to every detail and making sure I was happy every step of the way. They stayed on the job full-time from the first day and finished everything in 3 weeks. They can do this because of brilliant up-front planning. They were so nice, organized, and professional that we are hiring them again to redo our bathroom.

AC Remodeling did an incredible job in an unbelievably short amount of time. It's not because they cut corners or rushed through it, it was because it was so perfectly scheduled, and the team of installers were so hard working and diligent. The owner, Alex Reyes, was very detail oriented, and he would not allow any materials or appliances to be used that were not very good quality. I could have had the job done for slightly less, but it would have been poor quality materials and workmanship, and it would have taken a lot longer. They promised it would be done in 16 work days and it was, just in time for Thanksgiving! The transformation was amazing!

AC Remodeling, owned by Alex Reyes, did an excellent job for me in renovating my kitchen and bathroom. Alex was on-site frequently to make sure the work was high quality. He made sure that the job was done right. When we ran into a problem with the original tile for the flooring, Alex took complete responsibility for removing it and obtaining a refund. He did not charge extra for this extra work.
The staff was excellent. The guys who did the majority of the work were friendly, and were always ready to answer our questions and explain what was going on. They made sure that the construction area was clean after every day's work, and that trash was hauled away. The electrical and plumbing subcontractors were also very good.
One of the advantages in working with AC Remodeling was that Alex’s wife, Caroline, went with us to vendors to help us pick out tile and bathroom fixtures. She guided us through this process – we were not left to fend for ourselves.
As with any contractor, we closely monitored the progress of the job to assure that the construction complied with our wishes, and we suggest that, regardless of the contractor, home owners should stay close to any renovation in order to avoid surprises. Alex provided good advice at “decision points”. He let us know what the alternatives were and would make recommendations, but he always emphasized that our preferences governed.
AC Remodeling was a pleasure to work with. I would definitely work with Alex and his company again.

Alex and his team did an outstanding job on my kitchen remodel. The crew was professional, always on time, tidy (cleaned up everyday), honest and trustworthy. Alex and his crew have very good work ethics. Once we understood each other's style everything went smoothly. I've gotten so many compliments on the kitchen, friends and family alike tell me it looks like a kitchen on Houzz or a high end design magazine. I also worked with Carolina his wife on a project and she was a delight to work with, also very professional. The job was completed in a timely manner.

We added on tasks to the original contract, and even so, the work was completed on the original schedule. Alex and his team were very reliable, returning all phone calls and emails promptly and coming when they said they would. Alex has firm opinions, but he is flexible enough to accommodate the customers ideas. In addition, they kept the work area reasonably tidy as they worked and cleaned up when they finished. We were very pleased with AC Countertops.

Some years ago when another contractor declined to solve a leakage problem he had created in my shower, Alex came to my rescue. After I joined Angie's List, I was happy to see what good reviews he had there, but I had already decided to use his services again. He worked with my schedule (I was going on a trip in 3 weeks and wanted to get the job done before I left). He facilitated the purchase of a new dishwasher and a hot water heater and installed both better than the original ones had been. The job did carry some sticker shock, since I really expected to just replace the vinyl floor, but I am glad I did it because this one looks beautiful and I hope it will last much longer with less work on my part. I had had trouble finding someone who could replace the weather stripping on my front, side, and deck doors. This will help keep the cold out. His crew was polite, friendly, worked hard and stayed around until the job was done each day. They moved everything out, replaced the subfloor, laid the tile, and put everything back. Alex is enthusiastic, energetic, and creative. He is always learning and his work is always professional. I recommend him highly for any remodeling job.

During the renovation, the workers were polite, trustworthy, and cleaned up every day. Alex measured and made good suggestions that complemented my original plan. The timetable agreed upon was adhered to and I was directed towards choices that I could afford.

They're terrific. That is why I used them the second time. The guy that owns the company Alex Reyes, is meticulous. He is honest. He won't let you put any junk in your house. He goes around with you. You have to go pick out your tiles and pick out your this and that and he'll meet you and suggest. He has got vendors that he uses and he'll meet you there. He'll look for the best prices and pass on the savings to you. I have nothing but good things to say about Alex. I recommend him 100%. I didn't go for any other estimates. But I think it's about average price for redoing just about the whole bathroom. They had to take out half the piping underneath my bathroom because it was all old and full of crap. It was all filled with hair and mud. So he had to replace all of that. So I think it was a good price for what he did. He is an A+ on quality. You can catch him all the time and leave a message on the phone. He calls you right back as soon as he can. He lets you know when he is coming. If he can't come a certain day he lets you know. But everything gets done within his schedule.

Alex and his team did an excellent job and I am extremely happy with the results. The bathroom turned out better than I had hoped! I have a small hall bath with a tub/shower in a 1970's house. Alex guided me in picking the correct fixtures and set me up with the great designers and suppliers. He gave me excellent advice on how to modernize my bathroom. I enjoyed working with him and everyone on his team. They completed the job in a very timely manner and cleaned up at the end of each day. I would recommend them to anyone. They are skilled craftsmen, easy to work with and gave me an exceptional final product.
Only recommendation is if you are in and out like me (not always there), be sure to coordinate your schedule ahead of time with Alex so he can make sure everything gets addressed and times you need to be there are scheduled so that everything stays on a timely track and nothing gets held up.

Alex Reyes and his team were great to work with. It was the best experience I have had with a contractor.
I had worked with at least 2 other kitchen contractors in the past. Both were difficult to deal with and seemed to have no interest in actually coming out to the house to discuss the design and it was difficult to get them to respond to questions.
Alex came out to the house twice to talk about the new design before we even signed a contract. He spent time with us on Saturdays helping us pick out granite, tile, etc. Alex met us at different locations 3 or 4 times to look at and make decisions about the granite and at least twice to look at backsplash tile. He even offered to make other trips with us on Saturdays but we made some trips on our own because we didn?t want to take up all of his time.
I was always able to easily get in contact with Alex through email, text, or phone. He would often contact us to remind us that we needed to make decisions about certain parts of the project. He really wanted the kitchen to turn out great and helped us make some decisions about colors and materials. He wasn?t afraid to tell us if he thought something that we picked didn?t work and I think everything turned out better because of that.
The guys that work for him were friendly and did great work. One of the guys even shoveled some snow off of the driveway one morning. They got there around 8am every day and stayed as long as they needed to finish the work for the day. They tried to clean up the kitchen at the end of every day which was important because we have two young children. Alex came to the house at least once every day to check on the progress.
The project was started one week before Thanksgiving and by Thanksgiving everything was removed from the kitchen, drywall closed up, and the kitchen cleaned up as much as possible. The next week they started installing the new cabinets and the kitchen was completed a week before Christmas. They put up plastic sheets and zippered doors to separate the kitchen from the rest of the house. The rest of the house stayed clean during the work.
Alex finished the work exactly according to his original schedule. It would have been done a few days early if we hadn?t asked him to do some extra painting. We will probably work with Alex again in the future to remodel our basement.

Alex and his men handled the job with much professionalism and competency. They work clean and on time. They only glitch was a mismeasurement on the tile so he had to order more. However, this issue didn't extend the job by much. Bad weather was a bigger factor in the timeline, as it put us behind a day.
I had purchased new appliance a month or so earlier and Alex stopped by to make sure they were installed properly. After all the work was done he even made sure the stove was level.
I chose AC because: 1) close to where I live; I wanted to support a small local business, 2) pricing, 3) he doesn't work with big chain stores; I liked going to the granite supplier and seeing the giant slabs (bring a flashlight).
I would definitely choose AC again.

Alex and his team were great! From the first visit, he was very professional and personable. Also his is incredibly organized. He walked us through the whole process, helped in the selection of granite and each of the appliances.
What was truly remarkable was his patience. We ran into difficulty with the refrigerator order. It was out of stock for over a month. Everything else was set, just no frig and that needed to be installed before the counter tops. Finally the frig was in and work began. Alex and his team were terrific. Alex explained each day what work would be done. They were exceptionally clean and always friendly. When the counter tops were installed, Alex noticed a slight defect in the stone on the island. The defect was quite hard to see and he could have let it go...but he didn't. So, wee agreed that it should be replaced and he worked with the granite vendor to get a new piece. He really went above and beyond because the first replacement stone actually was worse than the first...so they had to come again! In the end, the island stone is absolutely beautiful - just like the rest of the kitchen. We are very pleased and highly recommend Alex and his team!

AC Remodeling is a fantastic company to work with. We have contracted with them several other times. They are efficient, responsive and do outstanding work! They totally remodeled a 1950's ranch house from top to bottom for us. The following tasks were completed: new kitchen, total renovation of 1 and 1/2 bathrooms, addition of new bathroom in the basement, tile installation in basement, bathrooms and kitchen. The basement was waterproofed, new windows installed, new drywall and insulation plus the adding an office. Total replacement of electric and plumbing to meet current code and effectiveness. The outside and inside of the house were painted. Installed outside downspouts and renewed window wells/covers. Alex made numerous suggestions to improve the design and save on costs. I feel that this company has great integrity and are proud of their work. This makes us VERY happy!

Alex has been absoutley amazing throughout this entire process. We have dealt with several other contractors for bids on remodeling, and no one was as in tune and as clear as Alex and his team. Alex was with us every step of the way. From picking out faucets, meeting us at the quarry to help us choose countertops, helping us pick out flooring, cabinets, and even coming with us to choose the kitchen sink! He met and exceeded our expectations in every way. We never thought he would be able to complete this job in the time he suggested. He came in right on point and was very clear each day about what would happen the following days. We even went away for a week during a portion of the demo and he sent us pictures and kept us up to date daily. We knew as soon as we met him, he would be on "our team" and would help us get the remodel done efficiently and beautifully. We will not even bid out for our future jobs. We have several baths that need to be remodeled and will definitely be using Alex and his team again. My only concern is that by writing this, I am giving away a great secret, but Alex deserves the work he will get.

Alex was Great. My wife and I are very pleased. Alex was very helpful with some design alternatives and he knows what works best. He monitored the job closely and did some of the installation himself. His tile guy was absolutely amazing ... an Italian craftsman with many years of experience doing backsplashes. Here are some details, before the job I purchased granite 4-inch backsplashes and wanted travertine and glass over the granite backsplashes. Unfortunately, the straight granite pieces showed that one wall had a bow of over 1/2 inch in the middle. Several tile companies did not know how they would deal with that since any filled area would need to be tapered to an edge not far away that could not be filled. I was concerned but Alex just brought his drywall guy and repaired it.It looks great. Same outcome with a travertine/glass transition. We wanted the glass to transition to travertine at a height that layed across the wall outlets. This meant that the thinner glass would need to be raised to the height of the travertine so the wallplates would lay flat across the surface. Several tile guys said that could not be done because the extra thinset would squeeze out through the glass. Alex and his craftsman were not concerned and they had a different method of getting the glass and travertine even. They were fast, they did a great job and I would definately recommend them.

From day one my experience with Alex Reyes was excellent. He returned my initial call very quickly and we spent some time discussing what I hoped to do with my kitchen. When he came out to do the estimate he was right on time. He was here for a good two hours and was able to give me an approximate estimate on labor and cabinets . He made some great suggestions and I knew by the time he left that he had a good understanding of my vision for the kitchen. The written estimate was ready within a week as promised and was just slightly higher than his initial verbal estimate. Once I decided to hire him I had to get serious about selecting my materials. The floor tile and backsplash tile were relatively easy decisions for me, but the cabinets were much more challenging. Alex patiently -- over the course of many phone calls -- directed me to a few different cabinet companies until I found what I was looking for. Then he worked with the cabinet companies designer to help me choose a cabinet that I love at a price I could manage. He even made time, on very short notice, to meet me at the display room to help me make my final decision when I got cold feet about my stain and glaze selection. Three weeks after I ordered the cabinets the work began. It was a 13 day job and throughout the process Alex and his workers were punctual and professional. We checked in with eachother every morning in person, in the evenings by phone or email. He made sure to keep me apprised of any unforseen problems. As the work went on I made some small changes, opting to replace my stainless steel sink with composite granite and my white refrigerator with black. Once I made those decisions he helped me make those purchases quickly by making recommendations and directing me to an appliance distributor that he has worked with. When the cabinets came in he and his two workers inspected them closely for damage and negotiated with the cabinet company to replace one cabinet that had been damaged during shipping and delivery. The work proceeded and finished more or less on schedule and I have a BEAUTIFUL new kitchen. The quality of the workmanship is excellent and I am beyond pleased. What I appreciate most about Alex is that he was always patient and responsive. I am considered a very particular person and having my kitchen out of commission, with my appliances in the dining room and the contents of my kitchen cabinets in boxes spread out in other rooms was a very stressful experience. Although Alex and his workers did a great job cleaning up every day and leaving my home in the most livable condition they could, I sometimes got grumpy but Alex never missed a beat. He was always patient, warm and focused on making sure that I would love the end result. I've had a lot of work done at my house, but this was the largest project by far. For me, the measure of a great contractor is whether I like him as much when the work is done as I did on the day that I hired him. Alex passed that test with flying colors and I highly recommend him.
