ANIMAL HEALTH CLINIC OF FUNKSTOWN

The best thing is just the personal experience. You feel like you are the only one that they see.

We love them. Probably the most friendliest, most loving pet people work there. The wait time is about five minutes. Dr, Cumley, she is the best vet in the world as far as we are concern. She interacts with pet like he is the only dog she has ever seen. You wouldn't know that she sees fifty pets a day. She gets down on the floor and plays with him. He loves her. She is just great. Also, the staff has been there a while with Dr. Cumley. They are very personable, in that they remember detail about your family. They will ask how so and so is. Something you may have talked about. Its a small town type of thing, even though they have a lot of pets in there.

They are no where close to my area, I  hook up my visits around the same time I visit my friend. They're wonderful and even give senior discounts. 

I had a possible cancer result for one of my dogs and they were very knowledgeable and caring. Thankfully came back negative.

the experience is pretty good with this Vet. The charge is relative high compared with other local places.

We had to put our dog down about a month ago, and she came to the house to take care of it. We appreciated that she came out to us. It was great to have someone who cared so much. She was very loving to my dog. Overall she is very caring and competent at her job.

The Animal Clinic is not my primary Vet., but I have had the occasion/need to take two of my Pets to the Animal Health Clinic of Funkstown. A couple years ago I took a Cat in because he was having a issue ( I think it was an ear infection) and I really liked how they handled my Cat. I thought then that clearly they care about the animals and I may switch Vets. I never switched over because I have a long relationship with my Vet. My Vet is a long drive, while I live close to Funkstown - so every once in a while I need to see somebody quickly and the Animal Clinic of Funkstown has been there for me in those times of need.
The most recent visit was for my Dog Jake. Jake is my 9 year old lab mix. Of all my Dogs, Jake is a big eater. One morning he would not eat (which was alarming for him especially). He was totally normal at mealtime the night before. After he wouldn't eat, I noticed he was squatting multiple times outside to go to the bathroom - which is not normal at all. When I went out to investigate, he was squirting out pinkish mucous stuff that looked like dampened raw hamburger. Also, he seemed off and was clearly unconfortable - like something in his midsection was causing him pain, but he wasn't caughing, throwing up etc.. He just looked like he didn't feel well. I have had dogs all my life and not seen anything like what he pooped out before (so I got samples). I observed him for an hour or so to see if he had just eaten something strange ( I though maybe he got a hold raw meat or an animal or something). Eventually, I cooked some white rice and chicken breast meat and gave him a little to see if he would be interested. He was - ate it up and I thought he may be OK after that. Then about an hour later he threw up the rice and chicken. At that point I got more concerned and called my Vet. I explained situation and they said I should not make commute to his office and to see a local Vet. I called Animal Clinic of Funkstown and they were able to see Jake right away. They put him through a extensive exam process. In the end, Jake was having a Liver problem which was also causing some other issues with his Pancreas as well. I think it was Pancreas. I found the Vet was very good at showing me all results and fully explaining what was happening to my beloved buddy Jake. Jake took a course of Medicine and had to have low fat foods but he was basically fine the next day and since. Jake is still taking some Liver support meds and he needs to have follow up tests performed to see if he will need to continue that medication permanntly or not.

I have tried 8 different Veterenarians in my life - partly because my preferred Vet is a long commute for me. Of the different Vets I have used, the Animal Clinic of Funkstown is only 1 of 2 Vets I would recommend. They were truly a godsend for Jake and I am very very happy with their professionalism and knowledge to help my Pet.

I will always go to this vet they are very nice and personable. I don't really know if any vet is cheaper than another, but I love dealing with the people here.

Terrible. I had to fire them. I was ok after the 1st incident but I refuse to find out what #3 will be. I will not give them the chance. If I do not get the collar back by the end of this week they will be reported to the BBB.

I just find that they are very thorough and very kind. They do a wonderful job with my dog; they found some problems and fixed him right away. I would use them again in the future if I needed to.
