Description of Work: Hometown designed and installed beautiful pavers and landscaping at my Capitol Hill office. The work was superbly done and I would strongly recommend them. Jeff, the supervisor, listens to what the customer wants. I had my own ideas and he followed them to a "T." We also had them do a very large hard scape and landscape design at our home in the Northern Neck of Virginia. It is truly a work of art. We used permeable pavers and regular pavers around the front and back of the home. They also added terraces with slate and renovated the stone steps on the 60-feet of bank on the river. Again, the work was exceptional. I have them come out every year to trim trees and to mulch. They are the best! You may have to wait a few weeks; but, they are worth the wait! A-plus!

Description of Work: Great job on trimming trees and shrubs and handling the pruning a very large birch tree...tree specialist really knowledgeable and provided best way to save costs and have effective pruning. Will be working with Hometown for a major renovation of landscape and patio...

Description of Work: Went fine, but communication minimal. Did not let us know when they came (heard our dogs bark) and left without a goodbye...only negative.

Description of Work: Efficient crew removed several bushes from our back yard, including removing the roots. They cut the debris into small pieces and bagged it and brought the bags to our front yard as requested. They performed just as advertised and as expected. I would use that service again if/when I need that kind of work done.

Description of Work: removed 3 trees including a dead oak tree, ground up stump and hauled all debris. | |they were punctual. the entire crew were great. they did a very good job. we can now sleep peacefully without fear of the large dead tree falling on our house. we will definitely be calling them again in the future.

Description of Work: Went very well. I had two trees near my property line, and my house, taken down. The estimate was scheduled quickly, and was knowledgeable. I also am very careful about the company having both liability and workers comp coverage, the company was able to email me a copy of the coverage. The crew was quick and careful. Clean up on my grounds and the neighbors yard was well done. I didn't want the wood, and they ground it up to wood chips, which they hauled away.

Description of Work: Removed a dead tree and trimmed deadwood out of 3 remaining trees in the back yard. They were very responsive and did a very nice job, especially cleaning up the yard after all of the work they did. The price was definitely the best estimate we received. The only glitch we had was that it rained the afternoon/evening before the work was initially scheduled and they apparently got backed up on the work. They didn't let me know until the morning they were supposed to come, so I ended up having to telework when I could have gone into the office. Not a major issue, but a little inconvenient, given the type of work that I do (better done in person).

Description of Work: This is the third time we have used Hometown Tree Experts. The first time they provide emergency service to remove large tree limbs felled by a storm. They were the only high-rated contractor who would give us an appointment, and did a beautiful job. | |Their field rep for tree service, Shawn O'Connor, has stunning knowledge of trees and many other plants. It is worth your time to invite him to visit for the education you will get about your trees. This can be very important. Ten years ago we had a tulip poplar installed on our front lawn to provide shade, in a spot where there had been a shade tree. Our contractor at the time recommended the tulip poplar because it is a native species that would grow fast. Two years ago the tree was broken in half by strong winds. Shawn showed me that the tulip poplar is a soft wood, and had been a bad choice for that spot. | |In March 2016, Hometown Tree did general pruning and moved a section of concrete block wall. All was done very well and quickly, except for pruning a pair of bushes. Their workers were quick to finish and leave without telling us. It took a couple weeks to get Shawn's ear and get the bushes completed to our satisfaction. | |Our experience over 25 years suggests Hometown Tree's price is fair, given their technical competence. Other examples include Shawn identifying poison ivy I had not noticed, and also showing me a large grapevine - more than an inch in diameter - as the source of a problem I had been trying to identify for years. This expertise is priceless.

Description of Work: We had numerous pine trees located close to our home that we were concerned about. We contacted John again for an estimate, which was scheduled immediately.

Description of Work: Trim two Bradford pear trees in front yard and cut branches from a tree that was damaged in a storm in the back yard.

Description of Work: John and his crew were great. He even came out the Sunday AM after the bad storm. They cut down and trimmed overgrown trees in my yard. The crew cleaned up very well- you could not tell they had been there at all. I will be using them again!

Description of Work: Removed large Elm tree from the corner of our property above our garage. Thinned out large maple and removed deadwood in back yard. Thinned out large oak in front yard and removed deadwood, clean cut large damaged branch. Removed large maple from front yard hovering over power lines. Removed all debris.

Description of Work: We hired Hometown Landscaping to remove one 60ft oak tree and to trim up another oak that was just as tall if not taller. We interviewed several companies but found Hometown's estimate to be the most reasonable and their explanation of the work they would do to be the most complete.
