American Home Contractors: November 2017 As a licensed Maryland home improvement contractor I am always on the lookout for quality service providers. My company specializes in interior remodeling and I have built long standing relationships with my workers. So, when it came time to have some exterior work done on my own home, I set about finding a company I could trust. My gutters needed cleaning, and I happened to see an ad from American Home Contractors offering gutter cleaning and roof inspection for $99. The inspection had to be scheduled on a clear day and as it turned out the inspection had to be rescheduled twice. The front office was quite helpful and courteous with the scheduling conundrum. On the day the inspection finally happened, Howard came out to my house, scampered up onto the roof and did what he came to do. When he was done, I got a complete report including photos: my gutters really needed cleaning. They were in good shape otherwise and my roof was in good condition. That was it. No smoke and mirrors, and no solicitation for more work. Just a thank you for calling American Home Contractors. I was impressed. Howard and I shook hands and as he was leaving, I asked, Oh by the way , what other services does your company provide? A few days later, John came out to my house and made a nice presentation of siding options and exterior thermal house wrap. The existing siding was really showing its age and the house was always cold in the winter and hot in the summer. I chose the thermal wrap and new vinyl siding. The work was scheduled to be done the next month. Two weeks into the wait, John called me and said the next week’s weather forecast was clear. American Home Contractors had a crew ready to go if I was willing to start early. I agreed and the crew was out the next Monday ready to work. For the next 3 days, the crew showed up on time every day and worked until the job was done. My house looks great and I can already tell (and feel) the difference the thermal house wrap makes. Worker cleaned those (and low gutters in couple places where some buildup was noted); sealed leaking gutter miter corner; inspected gutters, roof, and flashing. Advised new roof would be needed and arranged for free estimate. In contrast, estimator later judged roof was fine for next 4+ yrs, but agreed to provide estimate for information purposes. That has not been received yet (after 2 wks), but that timeliness is not critical, since we are not moving forward on that for some time.

Chuck was very personable, on time and did a thorough investigation of my roof, repairing any issues he found. He took pictures of everything he did, before and after. I had thought he might try and tell me there were some additional issues with the roof in order to charge more but he did not.

Everything went great. Crew was on time and did a great job. Cleaned up as if they were never there.

Very well. Inspected roof and attic space as well. Showed pictures.

It went fine. Marc arrived after calling. Popped nails were hammered back in, gutters and attic were inspected. Inspection report was provided. Arrangements were made to come back to finish. Easy to work with.

It went well and very quickly. Howard repaired the hole and tacked down flashing that became loose.

It was very good, Marc the technician was informative and he took the time to explain to me the issues with the drain system. He offered advice while he corrected a problem and he will be returning in October to finish up. I would easily refer him to anyone looking for the type of service they provide.

They were very good. They put a new roof on the house in one day. They came out at 7 am and they were done at the end of the day. They dropped off the materials the day before. They were very prompt, the workmanship was very good. I have no complaints. For price, I didn't get more than one estimate so I'd give the a "B", because I didn't get another estimate. I would use them again.

Great job by the technician, Chuck. Chuck arrived on time and showed me pictures of the gutters before cleaning and after they were cleaned. Definitely would hire this contractor again for our gutter services.

Very well. Marc was very thorough and did a very good job explaining what may be wrong. He offered suggestions on how to repaint the drywall. He was extremely customer oriented and diligent. I would hire him again. He indicated some things we could do to prevent problems in future. He is a credit to American Home Contractors.

John arrived before time, he did a thorough job inspecting the roof and letting me know what fixes would be needed.

Won't know until it rains, but it looks nice.

We contacted American Home Contractors for an estimate on replacing our roof after we noticed some damage around the garage. John Roda was the representative sent out by American to provide our estimate. John spoke to us for a few minutes and then went on to the roof to see what issues there might be with our 20+ year old roof. John took pictures of the roof and reviewed his findings with us after his inspection. He discussed their products, and process and showed us the products that they would use on the roof if we chose them as the contractor. He completed his estimate with what I believed to be a reasonable price – no games, no pressure, which was very much appreciated. He also touched on their payment and financing options. We had a few more companies to get estimates from and told him we would be in touch. We made the decision to contract with American and John was very responsive and helpful in getting the contract completed and financing secured. He advised that we should be able to get on the schedule within 1-2 weeks. True to his word, the roof was scheduled quickly but put off one day due to rain. Roof was off and on in a day and a half. John sent progress pictures throughout the day and answered any and all questions immediately. Crew was courteous and also helpful if we had questions while they were there. They cleaned up and hauled everything away and roof looks great. I found John to be very personable and easy to work with and I would definitely consider rehiring if other home repair needs should arise

It went very well. They were punctual, cleaned up after themselves and, in general, were very professional.

I like the fact they explained things and let me know that the roof tune-up could not be performed, due to the fact my roof needed to be replaced.

Another excellent job by Howard. This company is thorough. In addition to cleaning the gutters, they identify any problems up on your roof which is very valuable since you usually can't see up there. They also make helpful suggestions.

AHC was quick to response to my request and schedule service. There was a schedule conflicts that quickly and professionally resolved. When the technicians, Charles Fistek and Howard Shires, came to my house they were friendly, professional, and extremely helpful. Took pictures of my roof and gutters and explained to me what they saw, pointed out areas of concern for future monitoring, and recommended a few solutions.

Steve arrived a half hour early. He was courteous and explained every step of the process. He provided pictures of his work and identified steps I can take in the future to keep the gutters clean. I would definitely use him again.

Mark Burkett was very knowledgeable, professional and did a very in-depth evaluation. Great customer service. I would highly recommend to my friends and family.

Very professional. Assessed my roof and gutters. Cleaned gutters and cleaned up as he went along. Gave me suggestions and provided pictures of my roof and gutters. Great service!

Can't believe they actually did the work in the rain! Thought I'd have to reschedule. Two gentlemen were both professional and polite. Will definitely use the on a regular basis.
