I'd give 6 stars if I could! Chris is professional, knowledgeable, and experienced. I have worked with Chris for years, and I cannot imagine ever selecting another home inspector. He is incredibly well respected in the industry and completely understands all types of home styles, ages, materials, etc. He is a valuable resource for home buyers and real estate agents alike. Highly recommend!

Poorly. We were very dissatisfied with Seneca's competency, or lack thereof.. After we purchased the house, we found that the grounds flooded any time there was rain and there were multiple issues that Seneca should have seen, but did not. These issues not only detract the value of the home we purchased, but also our ability to re-sell it. Rectifying the missed items has cost us thousands of dollars. Some of the missed items: Improper water drainage, sump pump discharge directly onto neighbors property (a clear code violation!!!), and a chimney height/location code violation. I would urge caution when doing business with this company. Worse, they don't stand behind their work and deny any responsibility.

We cannot say enough positive things about our inspection with the owner, Chris. In addition to being extremely skilled, he is a really nice guy. He greeted us by telling us which direction our condo faced, and that we would encounter beautiful sunsets. From there, he inspected every nook and cranny, thoroughly explaining as we went along, and answering any questions we had. We left the property knowing his asssessment and received a computerized report that same evening. We have purchased many properties and have never had such a wonderful experience. Please do not hesitate to use his services.

Chris Snyder showed up on time and ready to work. He was very thorough and profession throughout the entire inspection. It took approximately 2 and a half hours to complete the inspection of a four bedroom 2300 sq foot townhome. He explained many aspects of the home (heating system, plumbing, etc) to help me prepare for maintaining my new home. He promptly delivered a thorough home inspection report via email the next day, complete with pictures and advice, both in the short term and long term.  I would highly recommend his services to anyone I knew looking to buy a home.

We had Chris inspect our first home here in Fell's Point. There is a lot to learn about these old houses and Chris is the man for the job. There is not one area he did not look at. He looked everywhere, even the filthy attic (you should have seen him when he came out). I was amazed! Do your self a favor and have Chris come out to inspect your home. You won't be disappointed. My girlfriend and I talk about our experience often. Thankful for all the information Chris gave us. Best money we have ever spent on this house.

Chris exceeded our expectations. We're first time home buyers, and we've been getting a lot of advice about the buying process. One of the most crucial parts is the home inspection. We spent a lot of time researching home inspectors and talking to our family member, some of whom are in the home construction/electrician business. These family members gave me a
thorough list of questions to ask and things to make sure the home inspector completed. Needless to say, we had high expectations and came into the inspection well informed. Chris did everything we had expected, and when we asked the list of questions, he never rushed his response.
Chris arrived on time and spent a little over three hours with us, our realtor, and the listing agent (we're purchasing a three-floor townhome, ~1200 square feet). He was very upfront with his findings and explained what he was doing in detail. We asked a lot of questions, and he always took the time to answer them thoroughly.
As such, we felt like we were getting a course in and quot;Homeownership 101and quot; in addition to an inspection. For example, the house has a slate roof, and Chris said, and quot;Let's talk about Slate 101.and quot; We spent the next 10-15 minutes looking at the roof and surrounding slate roofs to see how slate ages and what we should look out for.
Chris also gave us good information about what we should repair on the house right away, within in a year, and within the next 5+ years. He told us what projects we could complete ourselves and how to complete them, and he advised us to hire professionals for other projects. Being first time homeowners, we appreciated this information and now feel better prepared to take care of our home.
Chris completed the home inspection report within 24 hours of the inspection. The report was thorough, and it covered everything we had talked about at the inspection. There were no surprises. He was upfront with us in terms of what we could ask for from the sellers. He was professional and honesty every minute we worked with him, including via email after the inspection.
We highly recommend Chris. If we need to hire a home inspector in the future, we'll definitely hire Chris.

As soon as we had a ratified contract we called Seneca to schedule an inspection with Chris. The woman in the office was very helpful and scheduled an appointment for us just several days later which we were very happy about. The day of the inspection Chris arrived on time and got right to work. He looked over many things and was at the house for 3 hours inspecting everything. He talked to us along the way explaining different things, which was very helpful. He was able to tell us things that should be fixed immediately, as well as repairs that would need to be done in the future.
After the inspection we received the very detailed, clear report the next day. Chris was very helpful, informative, and professional. We would not hesitate to use him again in the future or recommend his services.
