BUYER BEWARE!!!! I went with Window World because 2 of my friends recommended them. I am truly sorry that I did. My windows were installed yesterday and the installation went okay and the 2 guys were friendly but they did not speak English. That was not a problem until the job was complete. The foreman, who spoke a little English, could not answer any of my questions so I figured I could call the office to get clarification on the warranty and aftercare (maintenance, caulking, issues). I was also surprised that there was no final inspection of each window. I asked him to do that with me but he did not understand. I filled out his survey and gave him a good score, which I shouldn't have done. Hindsight - I shouldn't have signed off on any of the work. When they left, I did a visual inspection of each window and found that one of the screens was ripped and separating from the bottom corner. I immediately called and spoke to Steve. He said he would call me back. (This was at 12:00 noon yesterday and I still haven't had any resolution). Upon further inspection, I could tell the caulk that was used is very low grade caulk, especially on the outside of the window. I've had windows installed before and both times the installers used a really thick clear plastic caulk on the outside of the window. These guys used a really small bead of white caulk which is still very wet. I honestly don't think it is weather proof or good enough to withstand the elements. I then decided to make the best of it all and hang my blinds back up but to my amazement, there is no way I can hang them back up. I have custom made inside mounted blinds and there is no way to hang them. The windows are literally installed flush to the trim with no header to accommodate inside mounts. The blinds cost me a good bit of money less than 2 years ago and now they are now nothing more than expensive firewood! I would assume that someone during the sales process, the measurement process, or the install process could have mentioned that. The sales guy and the measurement guy could see I had inside mounted blinds. I would not have gotten new windows, at least not with Window World, if I would have known inside mounts were not going to be possible or that they only knew how to hang a window flush to the trim. I've been told that there is a way to install new windows and allow for an inside jamb. They just did it the lazy way by sticking it right up to the inside jamb. It is now over a day since I called and spoke to Steve and complained about the broken/separated screen. I also emailed Chris, who sold me the windows and as all as he did was forward my email to Steve. Steve did email me back this morning giving me a choice of dates and I quickly responded to him. That was at 10AM this morning and no response or confirmation of when they will be back. It's not like I have a job or anything to worry about working around (insert sarcasm). Honestly, they could care a less about my time. One final note, the windows are very cheaply made. I got the midgrade and the screens are like paper and flimsy as h***. The glass on the windows does not keep any heat from the sun out (I should know - I don't have blinds!), and the windows do not easily go up and down. I have to physically force one of them to go up and down and another one of the windows has a hard time staying closed at the top once you unlock the window. I have to hold it up and in place to lock it. These are very cheap and not worth what I paid! Again, BUYER BEWARE!

Earl is a little pushy and a bears keeping an eye on. I paid the deposit for three windows, when they arrived, one was the wrong size. I refused to sign their work order completion and they have not yet been paid in full. I would like them to finish the job. There is no effort made by them to give me a work status and I'm considering contacting the AG

This company used to be good. Has changed owners multiple times and is now unreliable. I’ve been put on the schedule multiple times with no follow up when I called they say I was not on the schedule. I’ve been trying to resolve an issue for almost 2 years. I would definitely go a different direction

The worst customer service experiences I have every experienced. Order was placed back in November and they did not give any updates for over 3 months. We tried to contact them multiple times and they never returned my calls. After threatening to cancel the basement door repair they finally got back to me. Door was apparently lost in shipment. A new door was then ordered. During this process they tried to tell me they contacted me multiple times which was not the case. They apologized and offered me a discount on the final installation of the door (in hindsight, should have cancelled the order). Upon installation, I was not given a receipt after signing for the completed project which was odd. Turns out they had a typo on the receipt and what I signed for was not the amount I had left to pay. They then charged my account without the told discount. The entire process was a nightmare and we are still waiting for them to give the discount, as they contacted my wife for payment and charged full amount left on contract. I would avoid Window World Frederick, as the communication issue between every single department are glaring. It is the only place we have had work done that seemed to purposely go out the way to make the experience miserable.

Windows World offered the right and most reasonable price. They installed the windows beautifully. What I really liked about Window World in addition to the price, the customer service and sales representatives were very responsive!

I had 9 windows and 2 sliding glass doors installed. Of the 9 windows installed, 1 window was defective (leaking water).  When I called the owner at Window World of Frederick to report the issue, he sent over a "serviceman" from the company to inspect the issue at my home.  The serviceman said that the windows were not properly caulked when the defective window was installed.  So,  the serviceman "supposedly" caulked the window and said that the window should not leak anymore.  Unfortunately, it did leak again and again...So, I called the owner again and reported the issue and he sent the same serviceman over again to inspect the issue.  But this time he tore out a huge chunk of my drywall above the defective window on my interior wall.  In addition, he took down my curtains and blinds and left them laying on my bedroom floor along with the hardware (bracketts, screws).  For months, I had to live with big hole in my bedroom wall in addition to having no curtains or blinds.  I was no longer dealing with a defective window issue, I was now dealing with a big chunk of my bedroom wall  missing.  Window World of Frederick refused to take responsbility of the damage that was caused by their serviceman. The owner and his business partner (a.k.a wife) also accused me of being dishonest and greedy because I asked them to help cover "some" of the costs to fix the drywall.  I went through months of aggravation with Window World of Frederick to resolve these issues. They were very unprofessional and treated me unfairly (perhaps because I'm a female).  I will not recommend this window company to anyone else.

We attended the Frederick Home Builders show last spring with intention of doing window replacement only. Several reps were invited to our house to provide estimates. We chose Window World of Frederick because Earl provided accurate and thorough information that we needed and gave us a price that was not only within our budget, but also allowed us to replace our old siding. (All this for the same cost as window replacement ONLY by other well advertised companies!!) We chose Energy Star high quality windows and styrofoam-insulated vinyl siding, AND all new shutters. The installers were professional, neat, friendly, considerate and trustworthy. When potential problems came up, they spoke with us and offered alternatives to just covering it up. They were patient with our questions, offered their expertise, and took the time needed to give us a perfectly beautiful house. Mike and Mike did a fabulous job that has resulted in numerous compliments and questions from neighbors and from complete strangers driving by. We have recommended WW of Frederick to everyone!!
MOST IMPORTANT NOTE: During the recent harsh winter ice and snow storms, we lost power for 3 days. The new windows and insulated siding held out the cold while keeping in the warmth from our gas logs on the first floor.

I can't say enough about my experience with Window World. From the first contact to the service call to make a minor adjustment in the windows every individual we encountered was extraordinary, in quality of work, responsiveness, professionalism and product quality. I recommended them to my neighber who had a full house replacement of siding and window repalcement. They couldn't be happier and their house is gorgeous! Another neighbor commented on this house by sayin "it improved the look of the house exponentially." We plan to use them for siding/door. There is absolutely no high pressure sales tactics. We went to thier showroom and they talked about their windows and gave us a cost list so we could do our own estimatiing. Then when we called the to measure and give us an estimate Earl was terrific. Again, no pressure. He helped us pick the door color, suggesting one I hadn't thought about and he was spot on! We had gotten other estimates and theirs was a good middle ground. We will definitely use them again for siding and a front door.

The sales person was informative but no pressure. He came back a second time with
the owner to measure the problem basement door and frame. The door opens with out
any problem now. The metal finishing around the door, plus the new molding replacement
indoors, looks great. Michael, the installer and his helper were fast, professional, and
very neat. The price is very realistic. No special deals are needed, when a company starts
out with a fair price. We don't have the air leaks and they are easy to clean.

I was working with Window World of Frederick to replace the windows and doors in five houses I manage. The first three went well with the exception that they didn’t caulk between the window metal wrapping and the building on the first two. They said they didn’t do that, but came back and did most of it. When I removed a shutter just yesterday, I am still finding spots they missed. Now, I can live with that for the price. For this work I would give them a C.
The problem came when Window World of Frederick delivered a door that was the wrong size at property 4. Three people including myself heard a member of the subcontractor’s installation team at different times say that the door was the wrong size. Window World of Frederick denies this. What I was told by Window World of Frederick is that the threshold needed to be replaced for a cost of $375. I said to the representative, that this is a change order. It is not part of the original contract, and I want a written change order before the work is done. A time was set for me meet with the subcontractor to tell me what needed to be done. When I met the subcontractor, without authorization, he had already removed the threshold and some of the foundation wall that was below grade. He preplaced what he removed with wood and Quickcrete. Some of the wood was pressure treated and some was not. When I complained that the work was unauthorized, and not done to specifications that prevent future insect
infestation, rot and water access, one of the owners of Window World of Frederick stated in a letter that, “A difference in opinion from a homeowner stance is not valid ...” (Ltr May 14, 2013). In succeeding letters the subcontractor wrote. “I take offence when
someone that has no clue how to do my job tries to tell me how to do it.” (Ltr postmark May 16, 2013). What neither of these two
knew is that I have owned over 40 properties so far and do have a clue what I am talking about.
Once this dispute arose I did some research about Window World of Frederick. Window World of Frederick is a forfeited trade name owned by Yordy Cecci, Inc. Yordy Cecci, Inc. had a name change to Rykel, Inc. in June 2008 listing its own former name, Yordy Cecci, Inc., as the registered agent. So as their primary business name they have a forfeited name being owned by a former company name. Window World of Frederick Co. MD is another DBA they use. It does not appear as a registered trade name in the State of Maryland website. This information came from the Maryland Department of Assessment and Taxation website. (May 17, 2013).
At present Window World of Frederick, or Rykel, Inc. has refused to install a door of the correct size or correct the unauthorized alterations. I would not do any further business with Window World of Frederick. I am forced to award Window World of Frederick an F.

There were a couple bumps in the process only because of the size of our casement windows and the wrong quantity of one size of our windows ordered (which was the estimator's mistake). The installers were excellent. The windows are wonderful, easy to use. We immediately noticed a difference in temperature and sound inside the house. Any concern was immediately addressed. These windows replaced 25 year old Anderson windows. We had been looking at window replacement for quite some time but Window World was the only one we found where we didn't end up losing a lot of visibility at the cost of energy efficiency.

The workers from Window World of Frederick are very informative and professional. They actually suggested waiting until my
siding was completed prior to installing the windows to have a better and more professional result. This turned out to be a good
move, and I appreciate their willingness to return later to complet the job right. They also were very good with follow-on support after the windows were installed.

I canvassed my neighbors who had new windows installed in their townhouse and was given a great referral to Window World. I called, made an appointment, and the salesperson came out and measured windows, discussed products and gave an estimate in one hour. Very courteous, professional, and not pushy at all. The down payment was reasonable and windows were promised within 4 weeks. The windows arrived as promised and were installed in one day.
