Our air conditioner quit working just as a heat wave moved in (of course). I called two highly rated companies on Angi – one never responded and one couldn't come out for another 3 weeks. I then called TuckersAC based on a family member's recommendation, and they sent someone out that same afternoon. Joseph at TuckersAC did an exceptional job getting our HVAC back on line. We had never done yearly maintenance on the 12-year old system, so there was plenty wrong with it. It took two trips but Joseph was very thorough and got everything running like new. He explained everything he did and then made several recommendations, which he also explained thoroughly. After the first visit, he e-mailed me a 4 page description of what he found and what he did, itemized prices for everything and even added pictures of meter readings, NEST readings, capacitors, etc, and then did a 3 page itemized list of recommendations (with prices) to correct other deficiencies in safety and performance! Everything was so well explained and we were so well informed that it was easy to decide to go with Joseph's recommendations, which he implemented on a second visit. The invoices he e-mailed are the most detailed I've ever seen from any company ever.

Our AC unit was not properly cooling; our house was consistently 5-10 degrees higher than we set it at. We originally had a technician from Tucker come out who was unable to diagnose the issue and still charged us $280. Disappointed, we called back in a week requesting someone come out and try again as we still didn’t have functioning AC. Our second technician identified the problem within 5 minutes and fixed the issue. Both technicians were punctual and professional. We would be happy to use Tucker again, we just plan to request our second technician.

Things went very well. Through Angie's List, I contacted Tuckers and requested an estimate. I received a prompt response from Matt Savard, the Representative. He quickly arranged for a next day estimate and quote. The quote was very responsive and competitive. Once I accepted the offer, the installation was scheduled promptly. In one day, the three-man crew installed my new system. It has been running smoothly ever since. I highly recommend Tuckers!

Great experience. I called at 9:30, the tech was there by one, and everything was fixed in under an hour. The tech was very thorough in investigating the problem, checked on a few other things while there, answered my questions, and took the time to explain his process and recommendations.

OK at the beginning. Freon was low (2+lbs in system). Technician suggested a test to determine if there was a Freon leak and where the leak may be. He said we needed to fully charge the system with R-22 Freon plus add a dye...$860 for the test plus the $129 service fee. Other option was an electronic Freon leak test...$319 plus $129 fee. So, I opted for the electronic test. Result: We need a new condenser coil...$2,889 was their estimate. Technician said it was better to replace the compressor as well since were doing the work anyway...$4,100. Here is the problem: Our system uses a much less expensive Freon (R410A) and two other technicians told us the system does not need to be fully charged to run the test. Service fees are what they are, everybody charges them, I'm OK with that. Not OK with a dishonest tech (representative of Tuckers AC company) lying about the test. Other techs also stated we did not need a new system. Replacing the coil is all that was needed. The other tech that performed the same test the Tucker tech suggested at $989 ($860 Freon+dye and the Service Fee $129) for $95. "While I appreciate the time you took to send in this review, I believe you have a misinterpretation of the services we provided / offered. Our tech found your unit low on refrigerant. There were two options presented. One was to add refrigerant and UV dye which would put your system back into normal operation. With this option we would return in 30 to 45 days (or sooner if the system goes out again ) to perform the actual leak detection using black lights at no additional cost (included in fee). This method is a very effective for finding leaks. The second option was to perform an electronic leak search right then which included checking the equipment indoors and outdoors. This option did not include adding any refrigerant as there was enough to test the system. We found the condenser coil leaking (in outdoor unit). Our recommendation was to replace the condenser coil (a component in the existing outdoor unit) for $2889 or to install an entire new outdoor unit for $4100 with full manufacturer's warranty. Most often the customer would prefer to replace the unit especially when the cost of repair is more than 70% of the replacement unit. The replacement coil can be a viable option if that is the best with regards to your budget or if you don't plan on remaining in your home. We feel it is our responsibility to give you all options so you can make an educated decision. With regards to the other tech stating their "normal charge" was $95 to add refrigerant and dye, our material costs alone are more than that. A company can't remain in business for very long without properly charging for materials and labor. Our company does offer free second opinions on major repairs like this one. The customer typically would provide a service invoice from the diagnosing company indicating where they found the leak. We offer free second opinions to provide the customer a confirmed diagnosis and we may find a new customer in the process. Our intention is always to provide the best services we can to our customers at a price that is reasonable for the services being provided. It is impossible for a company of any size to offer great customer service and be inexpensive. Mike Tucker (owner)"

These guys do an outstanding job! We use Tuckers for our AC/Heating and our plumbing. We had a leak in one of our basement pipes last night and they sent someone out today (on a Saturday). Kenny, who came out to see us, was prompt, efficient, professional, and took care of the problem right away. He was great, as is the whole Tuckers team. We trust their expertise implicitly. They do great work, they're fair-priced, and go above and beyond. We love them.

Excellent throughout process. Tucker provided several heat pump options and helped me evaluate the alternatives. The installation team arrived on schedule and performed the installation in a professional manner. They cleaned up all the material from the old heat pump and the material used during the installation. The new heater is working great and passed inspection with no issues. Excellent advice and service at a fair price! Would definitely us them again.

When our central heating failed, I looked to Angies List to find providers in the area that were fair-priced and responsive. I have been very pleased with Tucker's AC - they took the time to listen to my concerns, including the fact that we were planning for a potential renovation that would significantly impact the required heating capacity. They provided several scenarios with pricing, and once selected they installed promptly. We have since signed an annual maintenance contract and I have been very pleased with their service - in particular, they are willing to service an overhead furnace unit that BG&E wouldn't touch (it is admittedly hard to gain access to) and, when our AC system went out over the summer during an extreme heat wave, they suggested that we purchase two portable AC units which they would then BUY BACK from us. Which they proceeded to follow through on, collecting the two units and issuing a check back to us. That was over and beyond the call of duty, but speaks to their commitment to customer service. Sometimes responsiveness has been an issue when I have a question, but when I have an issue / emergency, they are on the ball and I am able to speak with everyone necessary all the way to Mike Tucker himself. Plain and simple: it's really well run operation.

They came out the same day to fix problem. They don't try and over sale. Tuckers are very professional. Had to replace AC and Heater last year due to age of system, now we don't have to pay for repairs to new system as long as we keep up our maintenance agreement. 12 year warranty on the new system.

They're very good, I've used them for many years they're very stable. I use them for regular maintenance and they do our plumbing. Everything in this area is expensive, I don't think their price is unfair.
