Very impressed with the professionalism of the entire staff at RJZ Home Improvements. The work was completed for the price quoted and I love my new bathrooms. I will hire them again when I am ready to do my kitchen remodel. They were very professional in every way.

We could not be more pleased that we chose RJZ Home Improvements for our kitchen renovation! We hired RJZ to completely re-do our kitchen by moving a load-bearing wall and installing new cabinets, counters, backsplash, some appliances, exterior door, lighting and floor as well as replacing the floor, re-finishing dry wall and painting in our dining room. There were no unexpected cost overruns and RJZ met our timeframe for completion of the project. Ryan listened to our ideas, explained what could and could not be done, and made great suggestions. We asked for some unusual features (e.g., elevating the island) and our house posed some challenges (e.g., an expected slope to the kitchen floor). Ryan had the experience, expertise and ingenuity to satisfy our requests and the overcome the challenges. The RJZ tradesmen are expert craftsmen in their fields, arrived on schedule every day, made sure they asked how we wanted certain details done and were extremely respective of our home. Amy, in the main office, was an absolute gem to work with—she managed the schedule, gave us regular updates, checked on our preferences, ensured that we understood nuances in the process, and resolved every glitch (e.g. through no fault of RJZ, the quartz countertop delivered for the island was the wrong size.) We purchased our cabinets from the retailer RJZ recommended. The cabinets are beautiful and of superior quality inside and out. If you use this retailer, however, double check that the order is correct. The manufacturer delivered one cabinet in the wrong style which caused a slight delay that RJZ worked around to keep the project on course. The retailer’s salesman (who we understand regularly works with RJZ) personally measured the space inaccurately and, as a result, ordered a second cabinet in the wrong size. This error was not discovered until near the end of the project and caused an unavoidable delay in completion. RJZ took it in stride and made our kitchen completely functional and beautiful so we could entertain during the holidays, then promptly finished the cabinet installation afterwards. We have had RJZ do a number of projects for us at our house, including finishing basement with a full bath and adding a mudroom.  They have been incredibly efficient and very flexible.  Communications were always very strong and they kept us updated on progress and any issues.

Went really well! My husband and I built our cabin ourselves 30 years ago, so we were skeptical about hiring anybody else to work on it, but we needed fundamental repairs.  RJZ was willing to come in and give us a free, prompt, and itemized estimate and were up front about scheduling and when they would be able to do the work.  Work started when they said it would.   A crew came in and did the roof in basically 2 days; roofer checked back to make sure all was well;  The windows and rotted wood around them were replaced by carpenters Paul and Steve who were professional and efficient.  Ryan the owner worked with us to keep cost down by replacing only rotted sections while maintaining original structure. We also liked that RJZ is a local company and very accessible.  Overall a great experience.  We would recommend them to anyone looking for a top notch contractor!

The original tile was preserved in three of the bathrooms.  The other four were pretty much stripped down to bare studs and joists.  Ryan's crews installed new tile, new drywall, new fixtures, new tile, shower doors, accessories, etc.
This was a tricky job for several reasons.  First of all, we were dealing with a very old house with plaster walls and various types of plumbing.  Secondly, each bathroom was unique, requiring some complicated logistics.  Ryan's administrative assistant addressed this by assembling a separate binder (complete with itinerary and pictures) for each room to avoid any potential confusion on the part of the various workers.
During the course of the project we ran into a couple of side issues, which RJZ was able to address via change orders.  First, a water pipe froze cutting off supply to two bathrooms.  We took steps to make sure that would never happen  again, then patched the damaged ceiling.  Second, our interior decorator requested some physical changes to one of the bedrooms.  Ryan's carpenters took care of that for us also.

We initially met with 3 contractors to get bids on finishing our basement off in a new house we were purchasing.  We selected RJZ because they provided the best price and allowed us the flexibility to use our painters and carpet company to do the work.  Ryan was very helpful with providing ideas on finishing the basement area and how to best use the space (approximately 2k square feet).  He even allowed some last minute changes to the plan by relocating the existing full bath without drastically affecting the final price.  Very pleased with the quality of the work and finished product.

We interviewed 5 contractors and choose RJZ based on previous ratings in Angie's List and an interview with the owner Ryan Zaluski.  We were extremely impressed by Ryan, he is a straight forward and knowledgeable guy.  He Helped us design the project and furnished a complete quote for the work to be done.  While his price was not the lowest estimate it was within the range of estimates we received from the four other contractors.
The work went exceptionally smoothly throughout the entire project.  The only delay was caused by us in order to update and relocate the main house drain.  The work was performed by Ryan's crew and his choice of sub-contractors. All the workers spoke English and were very compliant to our wishes.  We were able to choose all the components, fixtures, faucets, carpet and trim for the project.  While construction was on-going the work site was kept very clean and we were not really inconvenienced in any way.
We have lived in our residence since 1987 and during that period we had four major reconstruction/remodeling projects done, the work done by RJZ being the fourth.  I have to say of those projects this one was far and away the best experience of all. I highly recommend RJZ and will definitely use them again.  
 

We purchased our home because we fell in love with the location. The house is a 5 bedroom 3.5 bathroom colonial with plenty of room for our kids and grandkids to visit. When we came to see the house we had a vision of a beautiful open floor plan, with a dream kitchen surrounded by a dining area, a family room and a living room, all flowing together. A true entertaining space, with a completely private backyard, that feels like a park. There was only one problem, while the location and the yard were perfect, the inside of the house was far from it. The house smelled of cat feces and the layout was a long way from our vision. We turned to a local contractor to make our dream come true, but were discouraged when the contractor told us that we needed to double our budget to get what we wanted. A local shop owner recommended we give RJZ a call. He said Ryan is a really good guy who does great work. We called Ryan. From the moment we met Ryan we felt comfortable, he convinced us that we could get what we wanted in our budget and he would be able to turn our nightmare of a foreclosure into our dream home. That was 1 year ago, today we are so very thrilled to live in our dream home - Ryan and his crew delivered more than we expected! In 3 short months, we were able to move in. We removed walls, got all new plumbing, electric and HVAC, new floors, a beautiful new kitchen, 3 beautiful new bathrooms, all new paint and even a custom staircase. The quality of the work is amazing - the crew is so talented and hard working. Ryan is running a winning business. He is wonderful to work with. He is busy, but we always felt like his first priority - he was there when we needed him and he is on top of his projects. Now one year later we called Ryan back to build our garage. We can't wait for Spring when our vision is complete, thanks to RJZ! We couldn't speak more highly of Ryan's work ethic, his commitment to do things right and his great crew! The entire project went very well. Ryan was responsive to all of our questions and the sub contractors he used to do various work did a wonderful job. We are very pleased with the final project. Ryan kept us informed throughout the entire project and we always knew when contractors would be arriving and what they would be doing that day.

We contracted with RLZ after we had seen our neighbors work. Ryan's estimate was complete on budget, began and finished as prompted. His craftsmen and sub- contractors were professional, and detailed in every phase of the renovation effect.

I have used him before and he had done a good job. I called him almost a year ago to replace a door that had been broken. He started the job and still has not finished it. I have called him several times and the work has not been completed. I would not recommend him to anyone at this point.

Ryan, the owner, responded promptly to our request.  He sat down with us and discussed the projects in detail. He made many useful suggestions, including ways to cut costs.  His crew was very professional, neat and courteous. All the debris were removed when the job was complete leaving no messes on my property.  The fact is that the job they did on the new porch surpassed our expectations.

Ryan and his team did a fantastic job! We looked at seven contractors before selecting RJZ. He had the most detailed quote and had great ideas for how to add some great features to our basement. He was very competively priced and I can't imagine anyone else doing a better job. We are thrilled with the work he and his team did. They were very prompt, thorough and detail oriented. Some of the great details are adding oak stairs to the basement and staining them perfectly to match our existing floors. This was an upgrade from what we had agreed to and Ryan didn't charge any extra. When we layed out the bathroom we ran into some space constraints that Ryan very cleverly worked around and upgraded our shower door to make sure that everything worked nicely, even though I know it cost him more. Ryan worked so well with us and really took extra care to make sure that our basement remodel was as good as it could be. He didn't nickel and dime us on things and when we added something extra was very fair in how he priced it. I highly recommend RJZ. They have made our basement the most used living space in our house.

Ryan, the owner, quickly came out to give an estimate which was very reasonable but still higher than my budget allowed so he worked with me to come up with solutions and possibilities to make what I needed happen! I really felt like he understood working within a budget and making the best use of every dollar spent. He was thoughtful and creative but still careful and meticulous. He did some of the work himself to keep the costs down and the guys he sent over to do other work were totally competent, polite, and overall a pleasure to work with. I've done several renovations over the years of living in my house and this was the smoothest.
