POOLS PATIOS & PORCHES

The first year pools and patio opened our pool they forgot to flip the switch to activate the robotic pool cleaner which inturn caused a series of problems being a first time pool owner. Half way thru the season we noticed that we were having a chlorine issue. It turns out that the intel chlorinator needed to be cleaned which we paid to have done. As a first time pool owner I was unaware that this needed to be done every 3 months. I feel that if your in the service business ( I was in the auto service business for 35 years) it is the responsibility of the provider to keep his clients informed of the needed services. Never once in the two years of service did anyone recommend cleaning the chlorinator. When I did have it cleaned they did poorly which caused me to have to replace it at a cost of $995.00. The men that came to open the pool appeared to lack the necessary knowledge they forgot to turn the valve to the pool heater which caused the heater to run partially filled. This caused the water to turn to steam which in turn cracked the pipes.I had to pay to have the pipes replaced the heater repaired and delayed my swim season by over a month and a half. after much complaining at the retail outlet I received a return call about my problems and what they could do to keep my business. We did settle on the refund of the cost of their DELUXE Opening but this was to little to late for a customer who had spent thousands of dollars in chemicals, pool accessories, outdoor furniture,umbrellas etc. If there is a silver lining its that the staff at the Hagerstown retail outlet is very pleasant and responsive. I still buy my chemicals there because of them however the service department is incompetent
