I worked with Alex in refinancing my current mortgage and it was a great experience. Alex was knowledgeable and very responsive to my questions during the refinancing process especially since this process was happening during the government shutdown in which I?m a government worker (he was very sensitive to my situation). Despite this issue and my nervousness, the refinancing went pretty smoothly. I will definitely use him again and recommend him to neighbors and friends.

After my in-laws passed away, my wife and I decided to buy their house and payoff the other 2 siblings. Alex was very helpful figuring out how to get this accomplished. We ended up doing a cash out refinance and payed off the other siblings with the cash from the refinancing. We also had to sell our current home before we could go through with this refinance. Alex stayed on top of everything and guided us through each step until the end. The closing went smoothly and on time.

Alex was very helpful when we were in a tight spot (despite a lock-in our first lender Wells Fargo - whom we had been working with independently of Alex - tried to change our loan terms one week before closing). Alex secured and locked-in the best possible home mortgage over the weekend and a Monday bank holiday. We called other brokers but none of them could match Alex? rates. We also appreciate Alex? reliability and candor. He was able to take out the headache of getting a home mortgage. We highly recommend him and should have worked with him in the first place.

Although we never went through with the deal, Alex was impressively prompt and thorough in taking us as far as we could go in the pursuit of the property.

Did not need Eagle Creek services at this time, but when we do, we will definitely come here for a mortgage!

I needed to re-finance 2 condo rental properties with cash-out. Alex provided excellent service and when the lender kept wanting more documentation about the condos, Alex persisted through three interest rate lock-in extensions to finalize the closings. He always responded quickly to emails and phone calls. Trust the other reviews. Eagle Creek Mortgage is an excellent company to work with, especially if you have difficult properties to finance.

Splendidly. His knowledge and passion are real. He was incredibly helpful! I was trying to decide how to finance finishing the basement in my DC rowhouse. He kindly recommended, after a good 30 minutes of chatting, that I not use his service and get a HELOC. I find that kind of honesty refreshing. He didn't try and convince me of something, he really helped me uncover what was best for me.

This review is for any skeptics. At first I was ultra-skeptical. A lot of the reviews on Angie's List (and elsewhere) sound too similar to be true... and there's some confusion about who/what Eagle Creek is (there are two different websites) and if Alex IS Eagle Creek, an Eagle Creek Broker, or something in between. I even called Angie's List to check on Eagle Creek's ratings, to ensure they didn't have doubts based on the crazy similarities of the reviews (they don't). I still don't fully understand how Eagle Creek operates with regards to Alex's broker service. In the end, it doesn't really matter. If you work with Alex, he's a straight shooter and a man of his word. He's coordinated and timely. If he says he will do something, he does it-- whether that means following up on paperwork or honoring a quoted refinance cost. I chose Alex and Eagle Creek because he was the only broker who told me straight up how he gets paid-- what percentage on the back end, and how that affects the rate I would be eligible for. Any broker who tells you their services are free isn't telling you the whole truth. The lender is offering the broker a payment to secure your refinance with them at a rate that is above market. This is often still a good deal, but I think it's important to understand as a consumer how the ins and outs of this high-stakes, high-value transaction makes money for everybody involved (including the broker). Others I spoke with were evasive and lost my business. Alex gave it to me straight. Alex locked me in on the eve of a full point hike in interest rates. My refinance was time sensitive and he made sure it was completed before the lock-in expired. When an cost was above estimate, he instantly offered me a check after closing to compensate for the difference. Alex found my deal through a lender (Stearns) I had never heard of but checked out. Based on the disclosures, I knew my loan would be immediately sold upon closing. This is all part of the crazy modern day mortgage market and has no bearing on my payments or the deal that Alex secured. In the end, he got me a great rate and now that the dust has settled, I'm very pleased with how it all worked out. The entire thing was handled over the phone, email and FedEx. I never even met the man. I should mention that my refinance included a cash-out to fund, in part, the buyout of a co-owner. Alex was very knowledgeable about the cash-out but there were some knowledge gaps in how to handle anything pertaining to a buyout. The settlement company Alex recommended (Gemini) was pleasant but also rather uninformed about this process. In the end it was okay but it took some last minute scrambling to ensure all the paperwork was correctly filed. This is the only time I had any issue whatsoever during the refinance, and if you have ever gone through this process you know that is practically nothing. In short, I wholeheartedly recommend Alex. He is far faster and far cheaper than any of the big banks, and he was the best broker I found after an exhaustive search. The reviews are spot on-- I will use him again and I will recommend him to my friends.

Working with Alex was a fantastic experience. flexible and responsive, knowledgable and helpful, Alex helped my wife and me navigate through difficult short sale process and secure lending for our first house. We hit some unexpected snags right before crossing the finish line, but Alex was nimble enough to shuffle things around, which enabled us to close on the day we needed. I used Eagle Creek because of the great reviews I saw on here. Alex is prompt to answer any questions. The only delays that happened were when I messed up on my end. I originally wanted to put some money down on the loan but changed my mind toward the last minute. Alex readjusted the mortgage and was still able to get it done before the 45 day lock period. When it came time to close, I did not have to go anywhere, he had a closing agent come to my house. I thought that was kind of neat. Overall, he made something I have no clue about seem easy.

Both transactions went awesome!! Alex explained everything in detail, was always available and got me the best deal I could find. I would definitely use him and refer him to my friends and family.

Alex did an outstanding job. From start to closing the process took 30 days. I chose him partly because of the reviews on Angie?s List, but also because he offered the best package in terms of rate, cost, and time to close. He was very responsive and answered any questions that I had. Everything was handled by e-mail and overnight mail. The closing company came to my house. The only small glitch was the closing company rescheduled at the last minute because the paperwork was not ready from the lender. But they came the next day, and the closing went smoothly. I would definitely recommend Alex and would use him again.

Our getting a reverse mortgage, a process that can be complex, went very smoothly. Therefore, there really is not much to say, other than that I highly recommend Mr. Echeandia and his firm, Eagle Creek Mortgage.

It went great and we were very pleased with our rate and the fact that we essentially had no closing costs. We screened a few brokers over the phone. Alex matched competitors' offers spot on, plus offered an additional incentive for Angie's List customers. He had great reviews on Angie's List so that, in combination with his competitive pricing, was why we went with him. We never actually met Alex because everything was handled via email or telephone. He was always very prompt in getting back to us via email or phone and made us feel that we were valued customers. As with all refinances, you need to be mentally prepared for the amount of documentation underwriters look for, and Alex helped us through that process. When we were ready to close, he arranged for a third party closing company to come to our home after hours when we could both be home, and they handled all of the paperwork I gave Eagle Creek Mtg a "B" for professionalism primarily because the closing company he used (Clear to Close) caused a few headaches. The inconveniences were minor and didn't impact the end result, but were a poor reflection on the experience so I just mention them here. There was an issue with the printing of our closing paperwork, and they didn't realize the glitch until we were partway through the signing process. So, Clear to Close had to return the next morning with properly printed documents to finish the closing. But, he failed to bring an extra copy for us homeowners. We had to ask several times in the following weeks for copies of our documentation. This was unprofessional and reflected poorly on Eagle Creek. Even though Clear to Close is a separate company, you may suggest to Alex that he use a different closer for your project. Overall, Alex is a very nice and trustworthy person. If it weren't for Clear to Close, he'd have straight A's by us!

Alex was very responsive and he got back to me within 24 hours. He was able to gather my application information via phone, and provided a GFE very quickly. He also followed-up with me to see if I had any questions. Although we ended up going with another lender that offered a better rate, I was very pleased with Alex's professionalism and service.

He was quite diligent in finding me a great rate and getting my refinance to settle within the timeframe promised. We wanted to re-finance our 30-year fixed mortgage to take advantage of the low-interest rates that were currently available. Unfortunately, we relocated to the area six years ago and I didn't know where to begin - so I started with Angie's list where I found Eagle Creek Mortgage, which had the highest rating in our area. In particular, I read the reviews of refinance officer - Alex Echeandia with Eagle Creek and sought him out and I was THRILLED with the result. Alex was extremely professional, knowledgeable and efficient to work with. Whenever I called or emailed Alex, he was extremely responsive and addressed every question I had along the way. Also, he was very trustworthy when I had the chance to drop off some paperwork at his nearby office and meet him in person. In addition, I had lost our copy of the second home-equity-line-of-credit note, which was necessary to close the re-fi. My mortgage company said it would take them 20 days to send a duplicate document to me - but Alex found it within 24-hours and was able to accelerate our close. Speaking of "fast," I initially contacted Alex on Wednesday, March 5th and we closed the re-fi nine weeks later - I've bought two homes and re-financed both but that was by far the fasted! Also, he locked me in at a rate that was more than 2% LESS than what I was paying - so we're now saving just more than $1,000 per month on our mortgage. I would highly recommend Alex Echeandia for anyone looking to re-fiance their home - you won't be disappointed!!!

They were good, but we didn't use them because we found a local company that gave us the same deal. We would have used this company if we had not found the local company for the same price. They were much nicer than a couple of the other companies that we had contacted. I can't remember the exact cost of the service. It was the normal costs for refinancing and a very competitive loan percentage.
